A block with a bore for receiving the cylinder with polishing cloth thereon holding the members together during the clamping process and the block includes an angled slot for back-folding the ends of the polishing cloth.

The invention relates to a machine tool industry, in particular to devices for securing a grinding or polishing sheet on a mandrel.
A known clamping mandrel for a sanding or polishing sheet, comprising a cylindrical body with a clamping shank and a central hole in which the clamping rod 1 is rotatably mounted.
A disadvantage of the known mandrel is that if an axial load on the tool occurs, the grinding or polishing sheet can be pulled back, i.e. unreliable binding takes place.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of fastening on the mandrel of a grinding or polishing sheet.
This goal is achieved in that a longitudinal groove is made in the lower part of the cylindrical body, which is intended to accommodate the ends of the sanding or polishing sheet bent and folded together, and the clamping rod in its lower part is made with a flat pointed end with notches on the narrow sides.

The mandrel includes a cylindrical body 1 with a central hole 2, a longitudinal groove 3 in the lower part and a threaded hole 4.
The threaded hole 4 serves to accommodate an installed bolt 5 with a six- or four-sided b, rigidly connected to the clamping rod 7. The threaded hole 4 also includes a threaded rod 8 of the clamping shank 9.

The clamping rod 7 has a flat pointed end 10, which separates the adjacent ends 11 placed in the hole 12 of the auxiliary grinding device 13 or. polishing sheet 14. On the narrow sides of the clamping rod 7 there are notches 15. The clamping rod 7 is mounted in the housing 1 by means of a threaded sleeve 16. The auxiliary device 13 is made in the form of a prism with a hole 12 for placing the housing 1 of the clamping mandrel together with the sheet 14 and slotted 17 at an acute angle to the longitudinal edge to bend the ends of the grinding or polishing sheet. The installation and fastening of the grinding or polishing sheet on the clamping support is as follows. The grinding or polishing sheet size is pre-calculated depending on the diameter of the treatment. On the sheet 14 obtained, the ends are folded over by means of the auxiliary device 13, for which they are inserted into the spline 17. When folding the sheet 14 of a given size in the auxiliary device 13, it is necessary that the working side, for example, with an abrasive coating, is facing outwards. The sheet 14 is then bent and inserted into the hole 12 of the auxiliary device 13 so that the bent ends contact each other and pass diametrically inside the hole 12. Then the mandrel body 1 is inserted into the auxiliary device so that the bent ends of the sheet 14 pass through the longitudinal groove 3 of the body 1 The clamping rod 7 is inserted when its flat end is located parallel to the bent ends of the sheet 14. With its pointed end 10, the clamping rod extends between them and slightly spreads them apart. When the clamping rod is rotated by 90, the sheet fits snugly and is secured by notches 15, which is maintained even when the mandrel moves axially with the sheet, for example, during honing of long holes. After that, the auxiliary device 13 is removed and the mandrel is ready for operation. The invention improves the reliability of the attachment of a grinding or polishing sheet on a mandrel. Claim mandrel for sanding or polishing sheet, comprising a cylindrical body with a clamping shank and a central hole in which a clamping rod is rotatably mounted, characterized in that, in order to increase the reliability of attachment of the grinding or polishing sheet, in the lower part of the cylindrical body a longitudinal groove is made to accommodate the ends of the sanding or polishing sheet bent and folded together, and the clamping rod in the bottom her part is made with a flat pointed end with notches on the narrow sides.
