A casting mould consisting of closely collected uniform mould parts is advanced stepwise on a conveyor path by a main piston, exerting an endwise pressure on the endmost mould part, and by an auxiliary mould advancing device incorporating a hydraulic cylinder, the piston of which is greater than said main piston. Hydraulic fluid displaced by the main piston is supplied to the hydraulic cylinder together with additional hydraulic fluid admitted through a differential pressure valve responding on the pressure difference between the two sides of the main piston.

(54) DEVICE FOR STEPPED MOVEMENT OF CASTING COMPOSITE FORMS

The device for moving the casting composite forms works as follows.
When the next part is added to the form 5, the rod 3 of the hydraulic cylinder 1 moves with the pressure plate 6. At this time, it is open. valve 1b, and differential valve 18 and valve 13 and 17 are closed. With increasing force on the rod 3, the differential pressure on the differential valve 18 increases, the latter opens, the valves 13 and 17, which are controlled by the same differential pressure, open, and the hydraulic motor 2 moves the conveyor 8 with the injection mold 5 one step. In this case, the hydraulic motor 1 holds the parts of the mold 5 together with a predetermined force depending on the differential pressure on the valve 18 and the difference of the effective areas of the hydraulic motors 1 and 2i. Thus, the force applied to the injection mold is adjusted by adjusting the differential valve.
The use of the invention in a device for the stepwise movement of thread forms provides a predetermined contact force between, part of the molds.
