In a method of operating such chemical and physical reactions as oxidation, reduction, absorption, mixing, heat exchanging, deodorizing of a fluid or fluids, an improved method of performing a multi-effect operation of any one of a combination of such chemical and physical reactions with a substantial acceleration effect comprising the steps of passing a fluid mixture of exhaust gases and an absorbent solution under appropriate pressure and flow velocity conditions through a flow deflecting member provided within a reacting area, thereby causing the fluid mixture to flow in an accelerated whirling flow state and to be split into concentrically dual layers of a generally liquid fluid and a generally gaseous fluid under effect of centrifugal force produced from the whirling motion of the fluids, and thereafter directing the dual fluid flows to collide against a plurality of projection members having a special cross-sectional shape, thereby causing the fluid mixture flow to be agitated violently and developing dispersion of fine particles of fluids within the reacting area. This finely dispersed state of the fluid mixture occurs efficiently at the moment of the collision action, splitting and rejoining with each other, resulting in remarkable improvement in the molecular motion within the boundary films of such dispersed fine particles of fluids and reduction of resistance of the boundary films thereof, and increase in a mass transfer rate thereof, whereby eventually there is attained an extraordinary contact efficiency between a gas and a liquid.

The invention relates to devices for mixing liquids with liquids or gases and can be used to intensify chemical or physical processes by mixing.
Apparatuses for mixing in liquid media are known, which are used, for example, in apparatuses with towers, airlift or in some cases in a pipeline of a certain length due to the turbulence of flow 1.
Also known are devices that contribute to enhancing the turbulence of the fluid flow, for example, swirlers, which are placed in a segment of pipeline 2.
A disadvantage of the known devices is the limitation of their use, associated with the floor loading, the energy costs for creating high speeds, the properties of the medium that can clog the device with sediments, scale, etc.
The purpose of the invention is to improve mixing with a simple design.
The goal is achieved by the fact that in a nozzle, at the entrance to which a tangential swirler is installed, protrusions located on the wall are made in the form of a truncated cone or pyramid, the larger base of which is facing the axis of the nozzle and is made convex as a segment.

The device contains an inlet 1 for gases, a nozzle 2 for introducing a liquid, a fan 3, a pipe 4 for evacuating the mixture, a device 5 for mixing, including housing b,

8 contains an inverted truncated cone 12 and a spherical segment 13, which have a common circular edge 14. The device operates as follows. The gas enters through inlet 1, and the liquid through inlet 2. The resultant mixture is pushed by fan 3 into mixing device 5, in which it is divided into two streams passing through channels 11. During the vortex 7 the flow is rotated as a result of which the mixture is divided into two-layer vortex flows, a liquid flow with an Al gas and a B gas flow (Fig. 7) containing dispersed liquid. The twisted flows collide with the protrusions 8, the shape of which ensures the destruction of the boundary layer into many small particles. The effectiveness of the proposed device is determined by an increase in the rate of mass transfer, which ensures the acceleration of the reactions carried out using this device. Apparatus of the Invention A device for mixing a liquid with liquids or gases, comprising a nozzle, at the entrance to which a tangential swirler is installed, characterized in that, in order to improve the mixing, the device is equipped with protrusions located on the inner wall of the nozzle and made in the form of a truncated cone or pyramid , the larger base of which is facing the axis of the nozzle and is made convex in the form of a segment.
