The present invention relates to an elastic element structure for the reel retention ratchet gear in magnetic tape cassettes which comprises an elastic lamina (1) with elongated extension defining a central portion (10) for coupling to a magnetic tape cassette (5) and two opposite branches (15) acting, at their free end (17), on the respective thrust arms (20) of the reel retention ratchets (21). The peculiarity of the invention resides in the fact that it comprises, at said free ends (17), shapings adapted to generate a thrust component in the direction of elastic preloading of said elastic lamina (1) upon the insertion of said ratchets (21) in said cassette (5) along a direction substantially coinciding with their axis of oscillation.

The structure of the resilient member for the ratchet locking mechanism of the reel in the tape cassette comprises an elastic strip that has an elongated configuration. The elastic strip 1 is produced by stamping from a metal strip or tape 2 (Fig. 5), while it is shaped to virtually eliminate burrs during stamping.

From the central section 2 in opposite directions, two levers 6, which are connected to the central section 2 along the first bend line 7, depart. The levers 6 are inclined relative to the central portion 2 and at the other end are connected with the end portions 8 along the second bend line 9.
The end sections 8 are in contact with the stop sections 10 of the dogs 11, which are rotatable around the hinges 12 defined by the cassette case, the axis of which is parallel to the axis of rotation of the reels 13.
The pawls 11 have engaging areas 14 that interact with the teeth 15 formed on the lower flange of the reel 13 of the cassette 5.
The engaging portions 14 lock the reels 13 from rotation in the direction of unwinding the tape, while at the same time allowing them to rotate in the direction of winding the tape using ratchet engagement between the ends of the engaging portions and the teeth 15.
The end sections 8 of the elastic plate have a bulge 16 on the face facing the dogs 11,
On the edges of the elastic plate, this bulge determines the guide sections, which, when the dogs are mounted with 11 movement, the direction of which coincides with the axis of oscillations of these dogs, generate a component or on the elastic plate, which provides elastic loading of this plate.
When dogs are introduced by vertical movement (Fig. 8 and 9), the lower edge of the dog comes into contact with a portion located adjacent to the edge of the plate, which is an inclined plane and generates a force on the plate, which loads it elastically.
This type of interaction does not allow burrs, which may be on the edges of the end portions of the plate, to scratch the plastic from which the dogs are made, and prevents the spread of chips in such a case.
The central portion 2 has protrusions 17 serving to pack various plates in the manner of a tape that can be wound on reels. When the plate is gradually inserted by the assembly machine, the individual plates are in each case cut off.

The resilient plate has a width that decreases towards the ends so that the section resistant to bending decreases towards the free end of the plate which contacts the ratchet paws.
The proposed design makes it possible to achieve substantial material savings, since it allows cutting to be carried out in accordance with FIG. 5, with a substantially rectangular center section 2, from which said arms move away with a gradually decreasing width so as to produce a plurality of flares without burrs during punching, since the area between adjacent levers is a useful area for creating a second lever of the adjacent row of plates.
Said bulge can be obtained in the form of a V-shaped configuration, as shown in FIG. 10 position 1b (or in the form of a rounded configuration, as shown in Fig. 11 position 16.
Thus, when the resilient plate is laid on the support 4 of the cassette body, it is sufficient to introduce the left and right doggie 11 with a substantially vertical translational motion so that the lower edge of the dog’s abutment section interacts with the convex edge of the end section and thus automatically inserts preloading operation without the need to perform complex mounting movements.
