The invention relates to a sealing technique and can be used to seal rods or shafts, in particular for valve rods of high pressure in power plants.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the durability of the seal.
The invention is illustrated in the drawings, where in FIG. 1 shows the stuffing box seal; in fig. 2 is node I in FIG. one.
The gland seal has a seal body 1 and a sleeve 2, as well as sealing rings 3-5, which tightly fit on one side to the seal body 1, and on the other hand to the movable sealing element 6, the shaft or the rod, in particular high pressure valve stem. At least one of the sealing rings, for example, the middle ring 4, is made of expanded graphite rings 3 and 4, which are supporting and pressure, or one of them can be made in the form of a layered ring. In particular, the laminated ring can be pressed from laminated annular discs 7 of a film of expanded graphite and intermediate annular layers 8 of metal foil. The metal foil is made of stainless steel, for example, austeitio chromium-nickel steel.
If the stuffing box packing consists of more than three sealing rings, then a laminated ring in a set of sealing rings can be installed in different places. In the exemplary embodiment, both the support ring 3 and the pressure ring 5 are made in the form of a layered ring. Laminated ring contributes to the functions of the winding pressed
rings. It acts as an oil scraper ring and thereby prevents adhesion with the sealing element 6, for example a stem. If the layered ring consists only of layered annular discs 7 of a film of expanded graphite, then the internal strength of the material of this layered ring in the radial direction will be greater than the internal strength
material graphite winding extruded ring 4 in the radial direction. Then, when from these laminated rings a leak of a graphite particle does not cause leaks on the laminated rings, on the contrary,
self-healing effect. In particular, the rings remain dense, which have intermediate annular layers, and, if necessary, metallic foil rings. Due to the latter, additional compaction is created due to the maze effect and no compaction breakthrough occurs.
