专利摘要:
A contact electrode for electronic instruments, which are applied for suppressing pains and for seeking active spots on the skin. The aim is to secure a sufficient, if possible constant, pressure of the electrode on the body surface, which causes no pain even on sensitive parts of the body, but which secures the same physical conditions at diagnostical and therapeutical repeated applications. The contact electrode comprises a sprung needle electrode 5, which is slidingly seated by means of an insulating body 7 inside an outer electrode 1, which is provided with an extension sleeve 2. The electrode may be for single handed use, when a separate connection is made to the outer electrode 1 which is gripped by the patient for self application, or (Fig. 2) for use by a doctor when the second connection is made by a separate tubular electrode (13) gripped by the patient. <IMAGE>

The invention is intended for use in reflexology and can be used in conjunction with electronic devices for the suppression of pain and the detection of biologically active points (BAT) on the skin.
A known electrode to an electropuncture device, comprising a housing with a cone-shaped conductive tip and a nozzle with a through axial bore, adapted to be attached to the tip (USSR Author's Certificate No. 680740, A 61 N 1/04, 1975).
In the electronic suppression of pain, electrical impulses are applied to the BAT using electrodes. However, it is also necessary here that the pressure in the active site is sufficient and does not cause pain.
Such an electrode, which is currently used in medical devices, is designed as a stationary system. The pressure of the electrode on the skin depends on the abilities and experience of the operator working with the electrode.
Also known is a contact electrode containing active and passive electrodes and current leads, the active electrode being made in the form of a spring-loaded needle rod placed in an axial bore of an enclosure equipped with travel restrictions from an insulating material and having a connector to which the current leads are connected. (USSR Author's Certificate No. 198503, class A 61 B 5/05, 1966).
The known electrode does not provide reliable electrical contact with the skin of the patient when searching for a BAT and during exposure.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of electrical contact both when searching for a BAT, and when conducting exposure,
The drawing shows a contact electrode.
The contact electrode is formed from an external passive electrode 1, made in the form of a sleeve placed on the housing 2 of plastic. Inside the electrode 1 there is an insulating gasket 3, and in the constricted part, with the help of the guide sleeve 4, a needle rod, which is the active electrode 5, is slidly slidded.
The contact surface - the working end of the needle electrode 5 - has the shape of a ball. Opposite end of needle
electrode 5 is mechanically and conductively medium with a long soft spring 6, resting on the stopper 7 of insulating material, mounted in the housing 2. The axial position of the stopper 7 with the connector 8 is limited by the collar 9. The stopper 7 is equipped with the connector 8 in which the first the wire 10 is connected to the electrode 5 by means of a spring 6, and the second power wire 11 is connected by means of a spring passing through a track in the limiter 7 to an external passive electrode 1.
When determining the BAT or when stimulating them, the contact electrode is applied to the skin surface and slightly pressed in order for the needle electrode 5 to partially enter the skin. Since the needle electrode 5 is rounded, and the pressure of the spring 6 is small, touching the needle electrode 5 cannot act painfully, with each time the electrode is applied, the difference in pressure on the skin is insignificant. (Further accuracy can be achieved by the fact that on the needle electrode 5 the recommended depth of skin deformation is indicated).
When performing a contact electrode, the instructed patient, by picking up the external electrode 1, is electrically connected with the device and can, with the aid of the needle electrode 5, find or stimulate the BAT.
The contact electrode can also be used in complex diagnostic medical devices to measure changes in nerve endings, to remove biological potentials, etc.
