Among solid lubricants, graphite gives particularly good results and it is preferable to use graphite with high purity, for example over 96Ј and with an average grain size of no more than 300 microns. The best results are achieved using graphite 99.5%. purity with an average grain size JOO microns. The lubricant is a 40-60% aqueous dispersion. The viscosity of the dispersion is preferably 500-15,000 cP at 10-30 ° C. The lubricant is prepared by simply mixing the components in water. The composition of the lubricant is given in table.1.
