A spring brake actuator for a rail vehicle brake unit, comprising a cylinder (2,3) and a rod shaped member (5). The actuator includes a cylinder-shaped housing (8), a piston (10) with a piston rod (11) and a spring (14) intended to act in a brake applying direction. In order to obtain a truly modular system the actuator (8-14, 17) as an integrated and self-contained unit is arranged on the rod-shaped member (5) of the brake unit. Its housing (8) is attached to the brake unit cylinder (2,3). Claims (2) [1] Claim 1. A spring brake actuator for a brake assembly of a railway vehicle, comprising a cylinder of a pneumatic section and a cylindrical body of a spring section,. a partition with a Central hole separating the cavity of the cylinder and the cylindrical body, which are rigidly interconnected, and a coupling collar for connecting the drive parts, while in the cylindrical body of the spring section there is a piston with a central through hole, loaded with a power spring, abutting against the end wall of the cylindrical body , 'and having a tubular rod protruding from the cylindrical body and abutting against a retaining ring fixed to the end of the piston rod of the cylinder of the pneumatic section, prop The mounting brackets are pinched through the central hole of the partition and the cavity of the tubular rod, and mounting brackets are made on the cylindrical body of the spring section, characterized in that, in order to simplify maintenance by performing pneumatic and spring sections in the form of separate modules, the partition is a separate part, rigidly connected with the cylinder of the pneumatic section by means of a clamp and made with a central tubular guide element passing through the cylindrical body of the spring section and, the tubular piston rod of which is slidably mounted on the tubular guide element, and the power spring is installed between the outer surface of the end wall of the cylindrical body and the shoulder made at the end of the tubular rod.
