This invention relates to mountainous industry, in particular, to methods of positioning a drilling rig and devices for positioning a drilling rig. According to the method, the installation is positioned by means of light rays before the drilling platform is lowered to the ground. In this way, the platform is moved to a position in which the light rays are located next to the marks applied to the walls of the tunnel. If the light rays do not match the marks, the platform rotates in a horizontal plane so that the straight line formed by the match light rays must run parallel to the plane formed by the marks. Then the platform is moved forward or backward so that the light rays coincide with the marks, and lowers to the ground. Thereby, the installation position is maintained. A device for positioning a drilling rig comprises a drilling rig 1 associated with a vehicle 2 drilling platform 3, on which a beam 4 is fixed, supporting a feeding device 5.
