. The invention relates to membrane technology and can be used in any industry where it is necessary to obtain pure hydrogen from. gas mixture
The aim of the invention is to increase the lifetime of the membrane at temperatures above 300 ° C,
The method consists in creating a pressure drop on both sides of the semipermeable membrane and heating the initial gas mixture to a temperature higher to achieve preferential diffusion of hydrogen through the metal membrane.
To prevent the formation of an oxide layer on the membrane surface and reduce the consumption of expensive platinum-group metals, the membrane is made of Ti alloy with Ni or Ag at a Ti content of 50 at.%. The membrane is made in the form of thin strips with a thickness of 10 µm to 2 mm by spraying the superheated melt onto a rapidly rotating copper shaft or by hot rolling.

The pressure of the initial mixture is possible up to 30 bar, and the ratio of pressures on both sides of the membrane in the implementation of the method is maintained at a level of 100: 1-10: 1. Such a drop can be achieved by suctioning the hydrogen passing through the membrane or by bonding it as a result of reaction with a reagent, as which the most suitable are melts containing hydrides of alkali and alkaline earth metals.
Example. A mixture of gases from H, CO and N was applied to a membrane made of a TiNi alloy (1: 1).
The temperature of the mixture is 400 ° C, pressure 5 bar. The specific permeability of hydrogen through the membrane was 117 hH im / m h, while the membrane was insensitive to other gases. The life of the membrane without reducing the permeability was a few weeks. The reason for this is the lack of brittleness of the alloy and the preservation of its original structure.
