New compositions for defoliating plants possessed of synergistic activity comprising (A) a compound of formula I <IMAGE> I in which R1 is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, R2 is hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy or C1-C4-alkylthio, R3 is hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-alkylthio or C3-C8-cycloalkyl, wherein R2 and R3 taken together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached is a morpholino- piperidino- or pyrrolidino-group, X is oxygen or sulfur, Y can be the same or different and is hydrogen, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-alkoxy-C1-C2-alkyl, C1-C4-alkylthio, trifluoromethyl or nitro, and n is the number 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, in combination with (B) a defoliant for plants in a proportion of 1 to 99 parts by weight of component (A) to 99 to 1 parts by weight of component (B). As the defoliant there can be employed 1,2,3-thiadiazole-5-yl-urea derivatives, 1,2,3-thiadiazole-5-carboxylic acid derivatives, benzylaminopurine derivatives, 2,3-dihydro-5,6-dimethyl-1,4-dithiine-1,1,4,4-tetroxide, 1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-bipyridilium-dichloride, sodium chlorate and S,S,S-tributylphosphortrithioate. The compositions of the invention are especially suitable for use in the defoliation of cotton plants.

The invention relates to rural. This means, in particular, the means of defoliation of plants.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the de-oliation activity of a known compound containing K-phenyl-M - (1, 2, 3-thiadiazolyl-5) -urea (Compound A).
As a synergist, the composition according to the invention contains the known herbicide diuron K- (3,4-dichlorophenyl) -N, N -dimethylurea.
Example 1. Young cotton plants in the stage of 5-7 developing green leaves were treated with the above components or their mixture (repeated 4 times). After 2 weeks the percentage of leaf leaves was established. The results are shown in table 1.
Example 2. Young cotton plants in the stage of 5-8 developing green leaves were processed and evaluated as in example 1 (see Table 2).

Example 4. Young cotton plants in the stage of 5-6 developed green leaves were treated and evaluated as in example 1 (see Table 4).
Example 5. Young cotton plants in the stage of 4-6 developed green leaves were treated with yjKa3aH components below or their mixture (repeated 4 times). The applied amounts of spray solution corresponded to 500 L / ha. A few days after the treatment with active substances (when one substance had not yet reached the leaves of the leaves), the percentage of leaves that had flown around was determined. Tab. 5 shows the above-mentioned rate of action of the agent according to the invention.

Example 6. Young cotton plants in the stage of 5–7 developed green leaves were treated as in example 5, and with the beginning of the fall of greenery, one substance A was assessed (see Table 6).
Example 7. Hibicus seedlings with formed roots and with a height of 20-30 cm of shoots and 8-10 green leaves were processed with the components named below or their mixtures and evaluated after one and a half weeks (see Table 7p.
In tab. 8 shows the content of the components of compounds A and B in examples 1-7, depending on the norm.

In order to increase the defoliating activity, it additionally contains N- (3,4-dichlorophene) -N, N -dimethylurea (c) in the ratio A: B equal to 10: 1-1: 40, and as a surface-active mixture calcium and sodium salt M-methylgN-oleyl taurine, as a carrier is magnesium-aluminum silicate in the following ratio of components, wt.%:
