A hermetic compressor housing formed from sheet metal as two housing halves which when joined form a generally ellipsoidal inner surface having a maximum radius of curvature of about one order of magnitude greater than the minimum radius of curvature and deviating from the generally ellipsoidal shape only where necessary for supporting a compressor-motor assembly therein and for joining the housing halves is disclosed and provides a housing of relatively uniform rigidity to reduce the level of sounds radiated thereby. In one specific embodiment all of the audible natural resonant frequencies of the housing are above 3500 Hz.

The invention relates to a composting system and can be used in low-capacity hermetically sealed refrigeration compressors.
The purpose of the invention is to reduce noise. Figure 1 shows the hermetic compressor, a general view; FIG. 2-internal housing surface in xy coordinates; on fig.Z - the same, in Koopj-dinates y-z; figure 4 - the same, in the coordinates of the X-Z.
 The hermetic compressor for refrigeration systems comprises a case of two connected halves 1 and 2, symmetrical about three mutually perpendicular coordinates x, y, z; with top 3 in the center of the case and having a curvilinear inner surface 4, and mounted inside the case with a gap the compressor 5, the inner surface 4 of the housing in any section has a continuously varying curvature, described by the following mathematical expression

Invention Formula
A hermetic refrigeration system compressor, comprising a case of two connected halves, symmetrical about three mutually perpendicular coordinates X, y, z, with a top in the center of the case and having a curvilinear inner surface, and a motor-compressor inside the case with a gap that, in order to reduce noise, the inner surface of the housing in any cross section has a continuously varying curvature and is described by the following mathematical expression:
