ARRANGEMENTS AND PROCEDURES FOR INSTALLATION OF A REMOVAL SOCK IN A FLOOR WELLFIELD OF THE INVENTIONThe invention relates to an arrangement and a method for cleaning a floor drain.
PRIOR ARTSewage pipes can be cleaned at the end of their life by feeding the old pipe, for example. An epoxy resin impregnated polyester sock that is inserted into a pipe to be cleaned can be used for lining. The floor drain at the end of the pipe also needs to be cleaned during sewage cleaning. There are two known solutions for cleaning a floor drain: coating or replacement.
Publication NO318965 presents a method for cleaning a floor drain by applying a suitable coating to the floor drain. An old floor drain can be coated by applying several layers of coating material to its inner surface. However, problems related to coating include a long installation time due to the necessary layers and their drying times as well as variation in the thickness of the coating. Due to the installation process, there will be more coating in some places and less coating in others, whereby the coating can sometimes be very thin in some places. In addition, known coatings do not form a self-supporting unit, which means that the old floor drain must also remain structurally fixed in the future.
Publication US5915419 presents the installation of a resin impregnated decontamination sock in a pipe branch. The method uses an expandable bag, with which the decontamination sock is held in place during curing of the resin.
Publication US2009194184 presents an apparatus and method for repairing a broken pipe by using a resin-treated decontamination sock. The method uses an expandable pressure element, with which the decontamination sock is held in place during curing of the resin.
The old floor drain can also be completely replaced, in which case it must usually be removed by tearing the floor around the well. In such a case, the water insulation and the floor material of the floor must be replaced, which requires a lot of time and resources.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTIONAn object of the invention is to present a method and an arrangement with which the decontamination of a floor drain can be made faster and / or more efficient than solutions according to the prior art.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTIONA first aspect of the invention is an arrangement for mounting a decontamination sock in a floor drain. The arrangement is characterized in that it comprises a pressure means, which is arranged to be placed at least partially in the floor drain and when pressing adapt to the shape of the floor drain to press the decontamination sock against the inner surface of the floor drain, and pressing means for pressing the pressure means towards the floor drain. which is arranged to be supported in connection with the drain pipe and at least one support, which is arranged to be attached at its first end to the angle bar and to be supported at its second end against the floor.
In one embodiment, the pressure means comprises silicone.
In one embodiment, the arrangement also comprises a mounting ring which is arranged to be placed around the pressure means for positioning the pressing means in connection with the pressure means.
In one embodiment the pressing means also comprise at least one disc in connection with the angle bar and in the angle bar with threads movably arranged press, the press being arranged to press the pressure member by rotation by means of said at least one disc.
In one embodiment, the arrangement comprises a mounting collar arranged to be mounted in the joint of the floor drain and the floor.
A second aspect of the invention is a method of mounting a decontamination sock in a floor drain. The method is characterized by treating the decontamination sock, placing the treated decontamination sock in the floor well, placing at least a part of the pressure means in the floor drain, so that the treated decontamination sock remains at least partially between the inner surface of the floor well and the pressure means, pressing the decontamination sock against the floor , and removing the pressure means after the cleaning sock has hardened to its shape, and mounting an angle bar adjacent to the drain pipe and supporting said angle bar by means of a support against the floor.
In one embodiment, the treatment of the decontamination sock comprises forming the decontamination sock according to the shape of the floor drain and forming an opening in the decontamination sock next to the drain pipe.
In one embodiment, the treatment of the decontamination sock comprises impregnation of the decontamination sock with epoxy resin.
In one embodiment, the pressing of the cleaning sock against the inner surface of the floor well is arranged by placing a weight on the pressure member.
In one embodiment, the pressing of the cleaning sock against the inner surface of the floor well is arranged by rotating a threaded press in the threaded angle bar so that as it moves, the press moves at least one disc which presses the pressure member.
In one embodiment, a mounting collar is mounted in the joint of the floor drain and the floor.
A third aspect of the invention is the use of the arrangement according to the first aspect of the invention in cleaning a floor drain.
The following detailed description of the invention presents a preferred embodiment of the present device and method.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTIONIn the following, the invention is described in more detail with reference to preferred embodiments presented by way of example and to the appended figure, in whichfigure 1 shows an arrangement for decontamination of a floor drain according to an embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 shows an arrangement for decontamination of a floor drain 100 according to an embodiment of the invention. Decontamination of a cleaned floor drain is started by selecting a suitable decontamination sock 110 in accordance with the floor drain to be decontaminated. If a cleaning sock 110 suitable for the shape of the floor drain is not available, it can also be produced by sewing, gluing or otherwise joining together a suitable material, such as a plastic-coated felt-like fabric. The material of a decontamination sock is of a type which can be impregnated with epoxy resin or a corresponding curable substance, the final product being the same as lined pipes. The material of the decontamination sock is preferably slightly stretchable or elastic, the shape of the sock not having to correspond exactly to the shape of the floor drain in order to be placed close to the surface of the floor drain.
The suitably shaped final remediation sock 110 is placed in the floor drain 100 and the location of the drain pipe 106 is marked on the remediation sock. The opening for the drain pipe can make the sock already at this stage. Alternatively, the decontamination sock 110 can be opened for the drain pipe 106 only after the decontamination sock has hardened in the floor drain. The decontamination sock 108 mounted in the drain pipe 106 during a possible lining process extends in a normal mounting towards the inner surfaces of the floor drain 100, so the size of the opening made to the floor well socket can vary in relation to the size of the drain pipe without significantly affecting the assembly function.
A mounting collar 112 can be placed in the joint of the floor drain and the floor. The shape of the mounting collar is such that it can be set to encircle the entire boundary line between the floor drain and the floor. Regarding the cross section, the mounting collar 112 may resemble, for example, an L-profile, in which case one side of the profile comes against the floor 102 or a possible water insulation 104 for the floor. The mounting collar is preferably made of a flexible and / or elastic material, such as plastic, silicone or rubber. The mounting collar 112 protects a possible water insulation 104 for the floor 102 and facilitates the completion at the end of the floor well decontamination, in case further decontamination sock needs to be removed. Next, the decontamination sock 110 is impregnated with epoxy resin or some other substance having the same essential properties and location in the floor drain.
Inside the decontamination sock 110 placed in the floor drain 100, a pressure member 116 is placed, which is arranged to press the decontamination sock against the inner surface of the floor drain. The pressure member 116 is preferably substantially a non-compressible, easily moldable and non-adhesive unit, such as a piece made of silicone, rubber or polymer, for example, which may also be coated to improve the non-adhesive property. The pressure member 116 may be circular or cylindrical in shape or it may be formed as close as possible to the shape of the floor well 100 so that the required pressure would be as small as possible. In one embodiment, the pressure means is a unitary piece made of silicone and shaped to conform to the shape of the inner surface of the floor well. In one embodiment, the pressure means 116 may be a container filled with gas or liquid, which expands as it fills and presses the cleaning sock against the inner surface of the floor well.
The pressure member 116 tends to expand in the available directions when pressure is directed at it from one direction. By placing a weight on the pressure means 116, the pressure means 116 is used to press the decontamination sock 110 against the bottom of the floor drain 100. When there is a weight on the pressure means 116 which presses the pressure means 116 in the vertical direction, since the bottom of the floor well 100 is below it, the pressure means 116 tends to expand laterally. With sufficient pressure, the pressure means 116 presses the decontamination sock 110 tightly against the inner surface of the floor drain 100 on the entire area of the floor drain. When pressure is maintained until the epoxy resin of the impregnated sanitizer sock has cured, the sanitizer sock 110 forms a new, self-supporting floor drain of substantially uniform quality within the floor well 100. After the epoxy resin of the sanitizer sock has cured, the pressure member pressure can be stopped and the pressure means removed from the floor well. If necessary, remove any extra part of the cleaning sock against the mounting collar 112 that protects the structures below from damage. The removal can be done, for example, by sawing with a rotating blade or cutting with a rotating disc by limiting the working depth to be less than the total thickness of the cleaning sock and the mounting collar.
In one embodiment, the pressure means 116 may also be compressed, for example, with a press arrangement according to Figure 1. In this embodiment, the pressure means 116 may be a substantially cylindrical, unitary piece made of silicone which has been shaped to conform to the shape of the inner surface of the floor well 100, and in the pressure means a cutting, opening or forming has been provided, to which an angle bar 120 can be arranged. The angle bar 120 may be mounted to the pressure member 116 or it may be provided to the pressure member during each use or only when needed. One end of the angle bar 120 is supported to the drain pipe 106, so the cleaning socket 110 must have an opening, cut or mold for the drain pipe. The angle bar 120 has an angle in such a way that the end resting on the drain pipe is placed substantially parallel to the surface of the floor 102, the other end of the angle bar being positioned to point substantially upwards from the bottom of the floor well 100, i.e. parallel to the floor normal. The vertically placed section of the angle bar 120 preferably has threads at least in its upper part. A support 130 can be connected by means of a fastening member 132 to the upper part of the angle bar. With supports 130, the angle bar 120 is supported to a substantially vertical position. The open end of the support 130 is supported against the floor 102 or the water insulation 104 or the surface material of the floor. In demanding conditions, several corresponding supports may be needed to hold the angle bar 120 in the required position while the cleaning sock dries.
Before the support 130 is placed, a weight plate 122 may be placed on an upwardly pointing portion of the angle bar 120, which plate is preferably rigid and strong and has an opening in the center for shoveling it onto the angle bar 120. The weight plate 122 may be a round steel, aluminum or plywood board which may be smaller, equal to or larger in diameter than the inner or outer diameter of the floor drain. A friction reducing foundation plate 124 with a hole for the angle bar 120 in the center is preferably placed on top of the weight plate. The base plate 124 may be made of polymer, such as nylon. A threaded press 126, such as a groove or plate with a threaded opening in the center, is rotated on the foundation plate 124. The foundation plate 124 is preferably oiled, lubricated or otherwise treated to reduce friction at least between the rotatable press 126 and the foundation plate 124. If necessary, the same treatment can be done on the surfaces between the foundation plate 124 and the weight plate 122 so that when the press 126 is rotated, the weight plate 122 is pressed downwards without being rotated, the pressure member 116 compressing but not being rotated to a considerable extent. This arrangement is to ensure that the cleaning sock 110 does not start to rotate in the floor drain 100, but presses tightly against the inner surface of the floor drain 100. In this way, the epoxy resin impregnated sanitizer sock 110 forms a tight joint with the existing structures, such as the drain pipe sanitizer sock 108 and the floor water insulation 104.
In the arrangement it is possible to use a mounting ring 114 with an inner diameter larger than the weight plate 122, an optional foundation plate 124, the press 126 and at least a part of the pressure member 116. However, the mounting ring 114 has an outer diameter which makes it possible to use arrange the mounting ring 114 at least partially inside the cleaning socket 110. The mounting ring 114 and the cleaning sock may be attached to each other with a strap or cable knot surrounding the mounting ring and the cleaning sock. The mounting ring 114 prevents the pressure member 116 from expanding laterally outside the floor well 100, i.e. on the floor. If the diameter of the weight plate 122 is dimensioned to be only slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the mounting ring 114, the pressure member 116 can only shovel against the walls of the floor well 100 when the pressure member is compressed by rotating the press 126. Once the required compressive force has been reached the arrangement is left to wait for the sanitizing sock 110 epoxy resin to cure. After the decontamination sock has hardened in place, the arrangement can be disassembled and the overflow decontamination sock removed.
It is obvious to a person skilled in the art that the above exemplary embodiments are rather simple in structure and function for illustrative purposes. The embodiments may or may not be combined, as deemed appropriate and necessary. By following the model shown in this patent application, it is possible to construct different and even very complex solutions that utilize the inventive idea presented in this patent application.
