10 l 25 20 25 30 Device for mechanism for tensionable belt in vehicles and method for using the mechanism.
The present invention relates to a device in vehicles for tensionable belts with a mechanism which comprises a body provided with a retaining shaft for said belt.
When lashing goods on lorries of various kinds with the help of lashing straps, the load is exposed to varying loads. The lashing straps in question thus slacken after they have been exposed to e.g. impacts on the goods, whereby there is a risk that the load is not properly fastened on board the vehicle. To avoid having to pull and tighten the straps as desired manually with simple and well-functioning means to be able to solve e.g. the problems mentioned above.
Said wishes are achieved by means of a device of the type indicated, which is mainly characterized in that a separate unit, which unit can be connected to a belt winch and / or with a belt tensioner, has means for automatically maintaining the lashing force in the belt by movement from the vehicle which the belt is arranged to act on, said automatically functioning means for maintaining the lashing force in the belt, when goods carried by a vehicle being packed together during transport with the vehicle, being comprised by a prestressed spring or other similar force means.
The invention also relates to a method for being able to use a device for tensionable belt with a mechanism which comprises a body provided with a retaining shaft for a said belt.
Said method is mainly characterized in that with a separate unit which has means for automatically maintaining the desired lashing force in the belt by a spring causing two units included in the device to move relative to each other and thereby after actuation with spring force on the said relatively movable units by means of a spring-actuable latch which maintains the tightening force in the belt if the tightening force in the belt should decrease during e.g. transport with the vehicle in question when packing clamped goods.
The invention is described below as a number of preferred embodiments, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 shows in perspective a linear belt tensioner in coupled position to a winch, Fig. 2 shows said belt tensioner coupled to a winch in a tensioned belt lashing position, Fig. 3 shows an exploded view of said belt tensioner, Figs. 4-5 show side views of said belt tensioner in tensioned position and free position, respectively, and with a spring included therein in shown cross section, Fig. 6-8 shows a corresponding belt tensioner seen from the side Fig. 9 shows in perspective a belt tensioner for a winch and with applied strap wound on its receiving shaft, A Fig. 10 shows said winch belt tensioner provided with clamping arm, Fig. 11 shows said winch belt tensioner connected to a winch, Fig. 12 and 13 shows a said winch belt tensioner provided with a tension spring in the contracted position and in the extended tensioned position, respectively, and 10 1 Figs. 14-15 show a corresponding winch belt tensioner provided with compressible sleeve-shaped spring in inoperable position and in compressed tensioned position, respectively.
A device 1 in vehicles for tensionable belt 2 with mechanism 3 comprising a body 4 provided with a retaining shaft 5; 105 for a said belt 2 comprises a separate unit 6; 106 which unit 6; 106 can be connected to a belt winch 7 and / or to a 109; 209 for automatic belt tensioner 8, has means 9; maintaining the lashing force in the belt 2 by movement from the vehicle on which the belt 2 is arranged to act. 109; Said automatically operated means 9; 209 for maintaining the lashing force in the belt 2, when the goods carried by a vehicle are packed together during transport with the vehicle, are comprised of a prestressed spring or some other similar force means. As a result, force is obtained from the beginning when the belt is actuated by the prestressed spring.
The invention comprises pairwise embodiments in which a so-called linear stretchers are shown as examples in Figs. 1-8 and a so-called winch tensioner is shown as an example of other drawings Fig 9-15.
More specifically, said device 106A is formed, one of which is in pairs of cooperating units 6, 6A; 106, first unit 6; 106 is arranged to function as a belt tensioner or as a belt bracket, with a said spring 9; 109; 209 acting between said first unit 6; 106 and said second unit 6A; 106A.
The two units 106; 106A are interconnected with each other via axes 110, 111 extending transversely to the direction of movement of one unit, which are received in slots 112, 113 extending along the intended direction of movement R located in lateral paired ends 116 of the the units 106 carrying a belt tensioner mechanism 8; 108. See Fig. 9-15.
As shown in the drawings, the two units are 6, 6A; 106, 106A interconnected by one unit 6A; 106A is located to be received on top of the second unit 6; 106, displaceable relative to each other. According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a said biased spring is 9; 109 arranged to be received in operative position to operate between opposing stops 14, 15; 114, 115 of respective units 6, 6A; for- ios, io6A, preferably a compression spring 9; 109, which is mounted on a longitudinal shaft 17; 117 received by respective requests 14, 15; 114, 115.
Alternatives are shown in Fig. 13 where the spring, which is preferably formed by a tension spring 200, is arranged to act between said transverse axes 111, 112.
Furthermore, there is a latch 18; 118 which is arranged to act on either a geared ratchet 119 of an interconnected or integrated belt tensioner 8 or a toothed tooth path 20 of one of said units 6A; 106A, which latch 18; 118 can be formed by a pivotally mounted metal disc and which is actuated by a separate spring 21; 121 to be stepwise fed and engaged in the teeth 119A of the ratchet 119 or with the teeth 20A of the toothed web 20. The said latch 18; 118 is arranged to be pivotally mounted about a shaft 22 and is forcibly actuated by a said separate spring 21 to be moved to a cooperable locking position SL with the ratchet wheel 119 or the toothed web 20. The toothed web 20 is preferably formed by paired obliquely facing toothed rails which are connected to the body of the associated unit at a mutual distance from each other, seen sideways in relation to the units relative to the direction of movement. A reverse lock 125 formed by a pivotable pivotable heel of a spring 106 is arranged to lock the locking wheel 119 to rotate rearward.
In order to enable manual tightening of the tensioning strap 2, in the example shown in Figs. 1-2 a strap winch 50 is connected to said mechanism 3 by means of a coupling 51 t.eX. a bolt, and one part of a strap is connectable therewith.
A method of using said device 1 which is intended and arranged for a tensionable belt with a mechanism 3 comprising a body 4, provided with a retaining shaft 5; 105 for a said belt 2 according to the present invention is briefly as follows: That with a separate unit having means 9; 109, 209 to automatically maintain the desired lashing force in the belt 2 by a biased spring 9; 109; 209 affects two units 6 included in the device 1; 106 to move relative to each other, thereby after action with spring force on the said relative units 106, the movable units 6, 6A; 106A by means of a spring-actuable latch 18; 118 which maintains the tightening force in the belt 2 if the tightening force in the belt 2 should decrease during e.g. transport with the vehicle in question when packing clamped goods. For example. if the truck, ship, train, etc. tilts in curves so that the load is affected by moving and thereby packed together.
A said feather 9; 109; 209 in order to ensure that the intended desired lashing force is maintained in the belt 2 with which the goods are lashed can, as stated above, be of different types. An example is to let the spring consist of e.g. rubber material, polyurethane or other similar material. The spring 109 can then be divided in two with an intermediate dividing washer 60 as shown in Figs. 4-5. Referring to said figures, there is also a release spring 70 which pivots the latch 18 from cooperating latch position SL when the spring 9 is in its untensioned position, as shown in Figs. 7 and 8, while the two units 6 and 6A are spaced apart maximally during the actual tensioning phase of the mechanism. The invention is formed by two separate alternative mechanisms which are mounted on existing winches or tensioners and by spring force retain the lashing force when goods are packed together during transport.
The line tensioner forms a unit which is attached to the tensioner 50 and becomes an intermediate part of the anchoring band 2 in Fig. 2.
At the same time as the tensioner tightens the lashing band 2, the rocker lock 18 must be kept depressed until the spring 9 is tensioned. Should the pulling force in the lashing strap 2 decrease during transport e.g. by packing goods, the spring 9 tightens the anchoring strap 2 by moving the unit 6 to a position where the rocker lock 18 locks against one of the locking lugs 20A in the guide rail 20.
The winch tensioner shown e.g. in Fig. 9, like the line tensioner, a spring 109 is clamped between the fixed unit 106 and the movable unit 106A, which are connected by the sliding shafts 110, 111. The feed latch 118 is also mounted on the shaft 111. Furthermore, there are running grooves 112, 113 for the sliding shafts 110, 111. The movable unit functions in principle as a winch, with a split shaft 105. The anchoring belt 2 is threaded through the shaft 105 which locks the belt by rotation when tightened, see Fig -15. On the outer ends of the unit 106 there is a ratchet wheel 119 attached to the shaft 105, which locks the shaft in a direction of rotation with the spring-actuated ratchet 125. When varying loads occur in the lashing band, there is a stepwise tightening in each cycle of reduced and re-increased loading. The nature of the invention and its function will have been clear from the above and from the drawings.
The function and nature of the invention should have been clearly understood from the above and with knowledge even if it is shown in the drawings, but the invention is of course not limited to the embodiments described above and the embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings. Modifications are possible with respect to the nature of the various parts, or by the use of equivalent techniques, without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
For the purpose of explanation, it should be pointed out that in addition to lorries, which transport cargo on the roads, also means any other suitable means of transport such as e.g. ships, railway vehicles, aircraft, etc. on cargo platforms, cargo decks or on board aircraft or in containers.
