In the patent specification US6749166 with the title "Flashlight holder" a holder for a flashlight is described.
The holder comprises a clamp on which a flexible tube (tube) is mounted. Depending on the fact that the tube can be bent in a different way, a lamp that is connected to the free end of the tube can be directed in different directions.
Disadvantages of prior art Laser devices which are mounted on a stand can be easily disturbed in a workplace. In addition, the handling of racks is cumbersome and requires a space, which can be an obstacle on construction sites.
There are lasers which are mounted on holders which must be screwed onto a post. They are not mountable, raised and lowered on standard type roof supports. The same disadvantage applies to mounting on wooden joists.
None of the described methods which use laser light can easily mark positions on either ceilings or floors. It should also be emphasized that lasers with tripods entail a high price and are really only something for professionals.
As for the procedure based on the use of magnets in combination with drill boxes, the method is cumbersome and the precision is not the best. Especially if there are metal objects nearby. Another disadvantage is that there are several different diameters on these ceilings, floors and wall sockets so several units with different sizes are required, they are also easily damaged with each hole and must therefore be replaced.
Description of the Invention Based on fi g. 1-5, the device constructed according to the invention shall be schematically described.
I fi g. 1 illustrates a laser unit 1 which, against a wall, for example, projects an optical cross 2.
Alternatively, the optical marking may consist of dashes, dots or circles. There is no requirement to use laser light to obtain a similar effect. Thus, light with different wavelengths (different colors) can be used.
The device comprises two cooperating main units (1), 3, one unit comprising one or fl your magnets while the other unit comprises one or fl your metal washers.
The units are connected via direct contact between a metal washer and a magnet.
The device according to the invention can be supplemented with a specially designed charging unit, which is suitably designed as a rectangular bracket with magnets which attract the metal washers of the laser unit and which in a way hold the laser unit to the bracket.
Said magnets input on the magnetic sensors of the laser unit so that charging of the laser unit's power source (one or more batteries) is activated. Power is supplied to the charging unit via a 12-24 V dc plug (adapter). Of course, non-rechargeable batteries can also be used.
Demonstration example of the invention The unit (3) which in the example comprises at least one magnet 4, 5 is hereinafter referred to as holder.
Preferably, the holder consists of a clamp 6 to which the magnet is attached. The magnet of the holder is designed as a female contact, which facilitates docking with one of the metal washers 7,8 of the laser unit, the center of the washers having a marked and limited elevation consisting of, for example, a screw 9 head, which is hereinafter referred to as a pin. Thereby a male contact is obtained whose pin is at least 1 mm higher than the surrounding metal washer.
The example is shown in fi g. 2 that the outer part of the laser unit of the laser unit has an opening (fl ik) 10 which allows the magnetic field of the holder to influence the magnetic sensor 1 1 of the laser unit.
The laser unit is equipped with a switch 12, which preferably has three optional positions, namely an "off position" which only allows charging of the laser unit's battery. Selecting the "on" mode activates the laser unit's generation of laser light. A third option is auto mode. which means that the laser light is only activated when the laser unit is connected to the holder's magnet.
The laser unit can be supplemented with a timer 13, which makes it possible to select the time that the laser unit should be activated.
For demonstration, a holder in the form of a magnetized (5) clamp (6) was connected to a post 14 of a roof support. The clamp, hereinafter referred to as a holder, was easy to attach to the roof support.
Particularly advantageous was that the device could easily be moved vertically with just one hand. With the same ease, the desired position of the holder could be obtained on a transverse (horizontal) rule.
A metal unit's metal washer (male connector 7) was attached to the holder's magnet (female connector 5). It proved surprisingly easy to bring together the metal washer of the laser unit and the magnet of the holder.
Despite the use of a relatively strong magnet, it proved surprisingly easy to rotate around the laser unit (shown symbolically with curved arrows in fi g. 2.4) whereby the laser light in the form of a cross could be projected onto floors, ceilings and walls. In addition, it was easy to raise and lower the device. Furthermore, it has been found that after setting to the desired position, the position is maintained with great certainty.
When applying the invention, the laser cross of the laser unit was directed towards the center of an electrical box.
The optically indicated position was maintained while a wallboard was attached. The disc covered the electrical box, which thus became invisible. On the other hand, the center point of the previously preset laser cross could be easily read on it against the fixed wall plate.
Thus, it became possible to use a dose drill to pick up a circular hole which with precise precision centered against the electrical box.
In the exemplary embodiment, the laser unit has comprised metal washers while the holder was provided with a magnet. Of course, a magnet (s) can be applied to the laser unit and metal washers mounted on the holder. For practical and financial reasons, investments are recommended in accordance with the demo example. With regard to the design of the magnet as a female connector and metal washers as a male connector, the reverse design can of course be applied. However, a preferred application is in accordance with what is shown in the demo example. Of vital importance is that an accurate interconnection of the units is obtained quickly and easily. This is facilitated if female and male contacts are circular.
Slave units can be connected to the device according to the invention, which comprise only a laser module coupled to a holder. In such an arrangement, the laser unit is provided with a socket for a contact with cable which is connected to the slave unit. This is especially advantageous if fl your sockets are to be made in the vertical direction as the same roof support or rule can be used.
The slave units can be connected in series, so in principle the device according to the invention can serve a large number of slave units. The device can also serve for drilling holes at longer distances via slave units. In such a case, the slave unit is placed on another roof support or rule.
Advantages of the invention The device according to the invention allows holes to be drilled on smooth, concave, convex and wavy objects such as walls, floors and pipes. After optical indication with the help of laser light, holes can then be made with great precision that create access to, for example, electrical boxes.
The vital parts of the device such as its laser unit and holder can be quickly and accurately docked.
Furthermore, the laser unit can be rotated around 360 degrees in different directions and can be rotated around fl your turns, if required. An important advantage is that the set eringxation of the current borehole is maintained despite the fact that it is relatively easy to rotate the laser unit around the seat in the holder's magnet.
An additional advantage is that the device is compact and can, if desired, be tucked into ordinary trousers.
In terms of economic aspects, the device results in savings in working time compared to the use of known technology, such as "hole in one", which technology requires a dose insert that is placed in an electrical box. Large savings can be obtained by not requiring investment in replacing worn wall boxes.
