SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of the invention is to provide a device by means of which it is possible to fold at least a part of the end portion of the connecting tongue into the low seam at the same time as the fastening, preferably by screwing or nailing, of the bracket at the suspended ceiling.
This object is achieved in that the device for simultaneous fastening and folding in a low seam of sheet or strip covering of at least a part of an end portion of a connecting tongue to brackets for sheet metal roofs at a base comprises a hollow elongate housing, at which the first end is provided with a fixedly mounted or detachable drive device and at the second end of which an elongate hollow member is arranged, which is axially displaceably arranged in the housing and which projects beyond the other end of the housing, the projecting spirit of the hollow member being arranged a perforated folding device, which folding device comprises a pivotally mounted folding arm, and the folding of at least a part of the end portion of the connecting tongue is arranged to be effected by an axial displacement between the housing and the folding device towards each other, when the folding device is pressed against the ground. at a first end of the folding arm a radial movement is imparted or an actuating means arranged at the other end of the housing so that said first end of the folding arm folds into the low seam at least a part of the end portion of the connecting tongue of a staple mounted in the folding device while the staple is attached to the base. DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS As shown in Figs. 1-3, a device for simultaneous attachment and folding into a low seam of at least a part of an end portion of a connecting tongue to a bracket (not shown) in sheet metal roofs comprises a hollow elongate housing 1 whose first end 2, in a preferred embodiment, is provided with a bracket 3 for releasable connection to a drive device (not shown), preferably in the form of a screwdriver or a nail gun. It is obvious that, in another embodiment, the drive device can be fixedly connected to the housing 1.
Arranged at the other end 4 of the housing is an elongate hollow member 5, which is axially displaceably arranged in the housing 1. The member 5 may be designed in the form of a shaft 5 projecting outside the other end 4 of the housing. At the end of the hollow member 5 projecting from the housing, a folding device 10 is arranged, which comprises a pivotally mounted folding arm 11.
The bracket for sheet metal roofs, which is preferably used together with the device according to the invention, will not be described in more detail below, as it is described in the above-mentioned patent specification.
In a preferred embodiment, the drive device is a rotatable drive shaft drive device which may be arranged to be connected to either a long piece (not shown) or an extension shaft (not shown) extending through the housing 1, the hollow member 5. and into a through hole 15 provided in the folding device 10 (Fig. 4). In the case of an extension shaft, it can be provided with either a screwing member suitable for a screw pre-assembled in the bracket or a bit holder, in which a piece suitable for the pre-assembled screw is mounted. It should be mentioned that the holes in the hollow housing 1, the hollow member 5 and the folding device 10 are in line with each other.
When attaching the clamp to a base, at the same time a folding of at least a part of the end portion of the connecting tongue takes place. This is achieved by an axial displacement between the housing 1 and the folding device 10 towards each other, when the folding device is pressed against a base (not shown), such as a suspended ceiling, whereby a first end 11a of the folding arm 11 is provided with a radial movement by a Arranging means 6 in the second end 4 so that said first end folds in at least a part of an end portion of the connecting tongue of a clamp mounted in the folding device.
In the case of the drive device with a drive device provided with a rotatable drive shaft, the axial displacement between the housing 1 and the folding device 10 will cause the screwing member / bit to engage with the screw pre-assembled in the bracket, and as the screw is screwed into a then the actuating means 6 will successively actuate the folding arm for the corresponding successive folding of at least a part of an end portion of the connecting tongue in the low seam.
The clamp is arranged to be releasably attached to the folding device 10 by clamping the connecting tongue of the clamp between a surface 20 of the folding device 10 and the first end 11a of the folding arm 11 and / or holding it in the folding device by means of at least one magnet 12 ( Fig. 2).
Furthermore, it can be seen from Fig. 1 that the folding device 10 is provided with an arm 17 which projects perpendicularly to the axial direction of the hollow member 5 to form a body which is substantially L-shaped in cross section. The fold-in arm 11 is pivotally mounted at the end of the arm 17 about a shaft pin 13, approximately at its center.
From Figs. 1-3 it appears that the second end 4 of the housing 1 is provided with an actuating member 6 with a first surface 7 against the folding device 10, preferably a substantially conical surface 7.
In the case of an axial displacement between the housing 1 and the folding device 10 towards each other, the conical surface 7 is arranged to be brought into contact with a second end 11b of the folding arm 11 in order to effect the radial movement of the first end 11a of the folding arm towards the folding device. The second end 11b of the folding arm 11 has a second surface 11c, and more particularly a surface 11c rounded in the axial direction, intended to cooperate with the conical surface 7 of the actuating member 6, when the housing 1 is arranged to be pressed against the folding device 10 so as to cause a radial movement of the first end 11a of the folding arm 11 and thereby folding in the low seam of at least a part of the end portion of the connecting tongue of the clamp. The folding arm 11 is spring biased by means of a spring (not shown) towards its initial position, as shown in Fig. 1, and the hollow member 20 is spring biased towards its position projecting from the housing.
The housing 1 and the hollow member 5 can thus perform a telescopic movement in relation to each other.
It is obvious to the person skilled in the art that the radial movement of the first spirit 11a of the folding arm 11 can take place in a different way than that stated above, e.g. that the above-mentioned cooperating first 7 and second surface 11c are replaced by cooperating tooth surfaces, or a surface of e.g. the actuating means cooperating with a roller, a wheel or the like on the folding arm. It is also possible to instead arrange the substantially conical surface in the form of the second surface 11c instead of in the form of the first surface 7, or to arrange conical surfaces in the form of both the first and the second surface.
From Fig. 3 it can be seen that the axial displacement of the hollow member 5 in the housing 1 is limited by preferably a stop member 18, preferably a screw 18, which is arranged to run in a groove 19 accommodated in the housing 1, between the axial end surfaces of the groove.
In order to prevent the clamp from rotating when it is fastened, the surface of the folding device 10 facing a base is provided with at least one, preferably two, guide pins 16 for corresponding guide holes arranged in the clamp.
