专利说明:
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is to improve current technology, solve the above-mentioned problems and provide an improved device for watering plants. This and other objects are achieved by a watering can for watering flowers, plants and plants which consists of a reservoir for storing water and a handle, the reservoir having an inlet hole and an outlet spout. The water jug also has a timing device, a motion sensor and communication means. The ingenious and intelligent water jug makes life easier for plant owners and helps them not to forget to water the plants. The watering can will use its communication device to notify its owner when it has not been used for a certain period of time. The timing device activates the communication means to notify the owner when a certain time has elapsed since the motion sensor last indicated that the jug had been moved. In this way, the user will not forget to water their plants. This can save a percentage of the user's plants from dying from dehydration. The plant owner saves time and money by not having to replace dead plants. The water jug can be small, with a reservoir volume of 0.2 to 2 liters for indoor use, but may just as well have a reservoir volume of 2-20 liters or more for outdoor use. The motion sensor can be any sensor that can determine if the water jug is moving. The sensor can be of any common type; for example a piezoelectric motion sensor, or one based on an optics with light source and detector. Furthermore, it is preferred that the water jug has an electrical circuit connected to the timing mechanism, the motion sensor and the communication means. The electrical circuit connects timing equipment that is electrical and not mechanical with electrical motion sensors and electrical communication means. 10 15 20 25 30 3 However, it should be noted that all of these components could be non-electrical. The motion sensor and timing mechanism could be a tube in which a body moves easily to one end when the water jug is used, but then takes a long time to fall back when the jug is not in use, to then possibly fall down on the communication means, which could be a bell. The reason for the slow return time for the body to fall back can e.g. be that it comes into contact with water and swells up when the jug is used. The water jug can also have an energy source. The energy source can be any kind of battery or a fuel cell. The battery should preferably provide a voltage that is suitable for associated electrical components. It is also appropriate that the timing mechanism be a clock. The clock can be implemented as a timer that starts the communication means when a specified time expires. The communication means can advantageously be a loudspeaker. When the timing mechanism starts the speaker, the speaker receives an electric current, which causes the speaker to play sound according to the amplitude variations in the current. The communication means may also be or have a light source such as an LED, which emits light when the timing mechanism indicates that it is time to use the watering can. According to a preferred example of this invention, the electrical circuit comprises a CPU and a memory, the CPU being adapted to execute algorithms stored in the memory. The algorithms are preferably computer programs that control the components connected in the electrical circuit. Computer programs may include logic such as timing programs, scheduling programs, and control software for connected equipment. The memory may contain sound information adapted for playback through loudspeakers. The audio information could be stored in any common digital audio format, e.g. wave format, mp3 format, etc. According to another concrete example, the water jug's communication means is a radio transmitter and / or radio receiver. It can 10 15 20 25 30 4 e.g. be a telephone module adapted to communicate via at least one mobile telephone standard, such as GSM, CDMA or LTE. The telephone module should e.g. be able to call the owner of the watering can and play a recorded message to remind the owner that a certain period of time has passed since the last watering. The telephone module can also send an SMS or an MMS with a text to the owner to remind that it is time to water the plants. The radio equipment can also be a Bluetooth module that can communicate with other equipment in the house. The module would e.g. be able to display a reminder message via Bluetooth connectivity with a similarly equipped mobile phone to show the owner a reminder message whenever the owner's mobile phone is at home and within range. The Bluetooth module could also communicate with the equipment in an intelligent house, which has a control computer or a multimedia computer for home use. The possibilities to remind the owner are then up to the home computer, but can include everything from playing sound, controlling lights, light effects, displaying messages on TV or monitor, sending e-mails, etc. It is further preferred that the watering can according to the invention has an in / out port (I / O port), such as e.g. a USB or firewire port. The I / O port can be used to add or change pre-programmed sounds or melodies that the watering can uses to - via the speaker - remind the owner to water their plants. The port can also be used to charge the water jug's battery if it has a rechargeable battery. The use of the watering can according to the invention will now be described. The timing mechanism, or timer, is started and a first time is measured until the motion detector senses motion or until a predetermined period of time has elapsed according to the timer mechanism measurement. If the motion detector has sensed motion and the water jug can thus be assumed to have been used, then the timing mechanism, or timer, is reset. If, on the other hand, the predetermined time has elapsed without movement, the watering can activates the communication means to notify the owner that the watering can has not been used for a long time. The means of communication may be any of those previously described, e.g. a melody played through a loudspeaker. Furthermore, the timing and communication process described above should be repeated for a second (usually shorter) predetermined time until the user notices the reminder and uses the jug. I.e. the timer is reset and if the motion detector does not detect any movement during the second predetermined time period, the communication means is activated again and e.g. a melody is played. An example of first and second predetermined time periods are 72 hours and 5 minutes, respectively. They could be predetermined during manufacture or could be adjusted by the user. Brief Description of the Figures The above-mentioned applications, as well as further applications, functions and advantages of the present invention, may be more appreciated by reference to the following illustrative and unlimited detailed description of concrete examples of the present invention, in which: Fig. 1 is a cross-section of the watering can according to the invention. Fig. 2 is a diagram of the electronics in a preferred embodiment of the watering can according to the invention. Fig. 3 is a diagram showing a method according to the present invention. Detailed description of specific embodiments of the invention The water jug consists of five important parts, as shown in Fig. 1 A. The handle (1) is connected to a container (4) for water. The water jug has an inlet hole (3) and an outlet spout (5) for water. The handle contains a cover that keeps the water out and contains the electronics (2) belonging to the watering can. 10 15 20 25 30 6 F ig. 2 shows a preferred application of the electronics (2) in the watering can. The circuit board has a timer clock (24), acting as a timing device, a motion sensor (25), a CPU (21), a battery (22) and a speaker (23), the speaker acting as a communication means. The preferred application also has some optional components, which are not necessarily included in all models of the product according to the invention, namely an input / output (I / O) port (27) and a radio communication component (28). Fig. 3 shows a flow chart of the function of an implementation according to the invention. When the device is switched on, the timer is reset and starts counting down the time with a predetermined time period, e.g. 72 h. During this time, the timer can be reset at any time if the watering can is moved so that the motion sensor is activated. If the motion sensor does not detect motion during the specified time, e.g. 72 h, the timer turns off and the CPU executes code to play a melody that reminds the owner of the watering can to water his plants. When the melody is played, the timer is reset again, and starts counting another predetermined time, e.g. 5 minutes. If the owner of the watering can has not activated the motion sensor by touching the watering can within the second predetermined time period, the melody will be played again and the timer will be reset and start measuring the second predetermined time again. If, on the other hand, the motion sensor is activated so that it is assumed that the water jug has been used, the function of the water jug will be restarted by resetting the timer and starting to measure the first predetermined time again, e.g. 72 h. If the water jug has an optional I / O port (27), the water jug can be charged via the port. This should advantageously be of a standardized type such as e.g. a mini-USB port. Melodies stored in memory could also be available and interchangeable via the I / O port, e.g. by connecting the watering can to a computer. If the watering can has the radio component as an option (28), then the steps in Fig. 3 can be supplemented by transmitting a radio signal from the radio component. The component (28) can be a Bluetooth module that communicates with another device, e.g. a computer, to send a reminder in any form. The radio component (28) could also be a mobile telephony component, which can either call the user and play a recorded message from memory, or send a text or picture message to the owner's mobile phone. The voice, text and / or picture message to the user are stored in the memory (28) and are changed either via the I / O port, if present, or via text message over telephone networks or by connection via Bluetooth from a device with Bluetooth transmitter.
