Ph.Eur. 5.0, voI Paraffin, White Soft Vaselinum Album Secondary: Emollient 201/2005: 1799p: 2187 The ingredients of the preparation in combination with each other act specifically by having a protective, wound-healing, bactericidal and emollient effect.
    Mug and rasp are effectively treated by applying the preparation to the affected skin area, delimiting the infection and healing it.
    Page 3/7 Application for a Swedish patent: APPENDICES Preparations for the treatment of Mugs and Grasps The preparation contains a strong water-repellent fat mixture that delimits the site of attack and a combination of natural substances and boric acid that penetrates the epidermis and scabs (so-called crusts).
    Perubalsam and boric acid are the microbiologically active ingredients, while other components strengthen the infected skin's own healing ability and further inhibit attacks from microorganisms.
    QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION The quantitative composition of the preparation has the following content (w / w%). Balsam Peruvianum 2.5- 3.5% ii. Boric acid 3.5- 4.5% iii. Zinci oxidum 8.0- 9.0% iv. Iecoris Aselli oleum 16.0-18.0% v. Adeps lanae 16.0-18.0 ° / o vi. Vaselinum Album 49.0-52.0% PREPARATION Salva. Well emulsified, light brown texture with distinctly fatty properties. Characteristic odor of Perubalsam.
    DURABILITY DATA: The preparation has been tested for durability with regard to microbiological durability, Efficiency of antimicrobial preservation (Ph.Eur. 5.1.3) for 36-38 months.
    TREATMENT: For local, external use only. The preparation is used undiluted. The dosage should be individual and adapted to the progress of treatment. The preparation is applied to the affected area one to several times daily, or as needed.
    TREATMENT EFFECT o An ointment containing the following recipe was prepared. i. Balsamum Peruvianum, 25g ii. Acidum boricum 42g iii. Zinci oxidum 859 lv. Iecoris Aselli oleum 170g v. Adeps lanae 170g vi. Vaselinum Album 508g Peruba / velvet was worked into the wool grease until an even consistency was obtained.
    Boric acid and zinc oxide were ground together, then slurried in the fi wash, after which the mixture was worked into the Vaseline.
    C. Formulations A and B were brought together until an even and smooth ointment consistency was obtained.
    FU - Page 4/7 Application for a Swedish patent: APPENDICES Preparations for treatment of Mug and Rasp The ointment was filled into plastic tubes (75G) and the treatment effect was documented by 14 horse owners / caretakers in Central and Southern Sweden, whose animals (half-blood horses) had been affected by mugs.
    The treatment effect was documented according to the evaluation protocol attached in the annex to this application.

A preparation for the treatment of Mugs and Rasp consisting of: (i) Perubalsam, (ii) Boric acid, (iii) Zinc oxide, (iv) Cod liver oil, (v) Wool fat, (vi) Vaseline A preparation according to claim 1 having the following quantitative composition: (i) Perubalsam 0.1-6, S ° / 0, (ii) Boric acid 0 , 1-6.5 ° / °, (iii) Zinc oxide 8-10%, (iv) Cod liver oil 15-20 ° / o, (v) Wool fat 15-20%, (vi) Vaseline 45-55%. A preparation according to claim 1, wherein Perubalsam is replaced by extracts from Perubalsam. A use of the preparation according to claims 1 to 6 for the treatment of skin conditions for prophylactic purposes. A use of the preparation according to claims 1. - 6. for the manufacture of medicaments, including so-called VUM (Some External Medicines). A use of the preparation according to claim 8 in all conceivable amounts where a therapeutic effect may occur. A use of the preparation according to claims 8 and 9 wherein the intention is to treat Mug and Rasp. A use of the preparation according to claims 1-10. for the treatment of animals. A use of the preparation according to claims 1-10. for the treatment of horses or livestock. A use of the preparation according to claim 11 or 12 for the treatment of the horse breeds cold blood, half blood, whole blood including pony. A use of the preparation according to claim 11 or 12 for the treatment of donkey and mule. A formulation method for the treatment or prophylactic use of skin conditions, such as mug and rasp comprising the steps described in this patent application, for preparing a mixture of perubalsam, fi spear oil, boric acid, zinc oxide, wool grease and petroleum jelly to the consistency of the formulation.
