The invention The present invention provides a method that both monitors if someone tries to cut an insulated wire, eg TIR line, but also monitors the fastening of the wire so that it is really mounted correctly and thus makes burglary more difficult. The monitoring takes place with the help of a monitoring unit that registers and either forwards the status information on the cable and the attachment via radio or saves the information in an internal memory to be able to report wirelessly when it comes close to a base station or the like.

When the TIR line is mounted, the reading unit will be via the transmitter / receiver which may be, but is not limited to, an electromagnetic coil which induces an electromagnetic wave through the TIR line. The electronics that drive the reading unit measure two properties on the TIR line 1.
The length is each direction - since the reading unit is mounted along the length of the TIR line - by varying the frequency until a standing wave occurs. The electronics will then remember the current frequency and constantly or on selected occasions check that the current frequency gives a standing wave. If someone shortens - or lengthens - the cable, the frequency of the standing wave or tuning will change and the system will report a fault condition.
That the TIR cable is correctly connected by measuring the current capacitance or inductance. Each termination unit has a known capacitance and / or inductance and with this capacitor and / or coil will act on the cable in a way that makes it possible to detect if someone disconnects the TIR cable from the fastening device.
Measuring so that the TIR cable remains its length and is properly attached will be possible completely independently of each other and the patent application should not be seen as unique just because both measurement methods exist but also each part separately.
The reading unit will via a built-in radio communication unit either report any fault conditions directly to a nearby base station or to some form of OBC (on board computer). If the vehicle is out of reach of a base station and there is no OBC, the status will be stored to be presented and automatically transferred when it reaches a place where a base station is set up, eg a terminal. The base station can then forward captured information to, for example, a logistics administrative system. An embodiment of the invention is described in the following and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which according to Fig. 1 shows how the TIR line is attached to a Trailer Fig. 2 shows how the TIR line goes through each loop to connect the canopy to the truck.
Fig. 3 shows a reading unit with the sensor through which the TIR line passes.
Invention has been described in accordance with the preferred compilation and design, and it is understood that certain substitutions and modifications may be made without departing from the spirit. Such variants are included in the inventive concept and may be considered to be included within the scope of the appended claims.
