    BRIEF DESCRIPTION Housing for a bicycle
    DESCRIPTION
    The invention relates to a housing for a bicycle.
    The present invention has for its object to provide a housing for bicycles which can completely enclose the bicycle in question and thereby takes up little space. Such a housing can for instance form part of a system with a plurality of such housings whereby the bicycles can be accommodated in that system without the bicycles being able to collide with the handlebars and pedals. Furthermore, the housing offers excellent protection against environmental influences and against damage and theft.
    According to the invention, there is provided a housing for a bicycle adapted to substantially completely enclose the bicycle in a state in which the front wheel of the bicycle is placed substantially transversely of the horizontal longitudinal direction of the bicycle, the housing of two substantially comprises vertical side walls, the main directions of which, viewed in the horizontal plane, run non-parallel to each other, so that the housing has a wide part and a narrow part, the dimensions of the wide part being such that there transverse front wheel is provided, while the dimensions of the narrow part are such that there, on the contrary, sufficient space is provided by the housing to the rear part of the bicycle.
    The combination of the transverse positioning of the front wheel and the use of a housing with the indicated shape and dimensions ensures space-efficient storage of bicycles.
    Seen in the horizontal plane, the housing is, for example, substantially in the form of an isosceles trapezium with a straight or curved or kinked long base or. short base, or the shape of an isosceles triangle with a straight or curved or bent base and with a sharp or truncated or rounded top. The housing can be substantially in the form of a straight prism, whether or not truncated or rounded, on the side of its narrow portion. The housing may also be in the form of a prism chamfered inwards in the direction of its narrow portion, whether or not truncated or rounded on the side of its narrow portion.
    The invention will now be further discussed with reference to the figure description below.
    Figure 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of a housing according to the invention, viewed in the horizontal plane;
    Figures 2a-b show two embodiments of the housing according to the invention in perspective.
    The figures show a housing 1 for a bicycle 2, adapted to substantially completely enclose the bicycle 2 in a condition in which the front wheel 3 of the bicycle 2 is set substantially transversely of the horizontal longitudinal direction 4 of the bicycle 2.
    The housing 1 comprises two substantially vertical side walls 5 whose main directions, viewed in the horizontal plane, run non-parallel to each other, but at an acute angle α, so that the housing has a wide portion 6 and a narrow portion 7, the dimensions of the wide portion 6 are such that there is just enough space provided by the housing 1 for the transverse front wheel 3, while the dimensions of the narrow portion 7 are such that there is just enough space at the rear portion 8 of the rear portion 8 by the housing the bicycle 2 is offered.
    The housing 1, viewed in the horizontal plane (shown in Figure 1), has substantially the shape of an equal trapezium with a straight or curved or kinked long or bent shape. short basis. In Figure 1, both the long base 9 and the short base 10 are slightly curved due to their integration into a system in which multiple enclosures with non-parallel side walls ("pie-shaped" enclosures) are placed side by side to form a circular carousel.
    In the embodiment shown, the long base 9 of the housing 1 comprises a (slightly curved) access door 11 which is rotatable about a hinge 12.
    Viewed in the horizontal plane, the housing can also have the shape of an isosceles triangle with a straight or curved or bent base and with a sharp or truncated or rounded top.
    Figure 2a shows a housing 1 which is substantially in the form of a straight prism truncated on the side of its narrow portion. The prism may also be rounded off on that side.
    Figure 2b shows a housing 1 which is substantially in the form of a prism chamfered inwards (downwards) in the direction of its narrow portion 7, which prism is truncated (possibly rounded off) on the side of its narrow portion 7. a reduction in the total volume of the housing 1 can be achieved, since the rear part 8 of a bicycle 2 is generally lower than the front part 6, so that the top of the housing 1 may slope backwards (obliquely).
    When the housing 1 is used, the bicycle 2 is moved backwards into the housing 1 via the access door 11 arranged in the wide part 6, whereafter (or already during which movement) the front wheel 3 of the bicycle 2 is set transversely, whereafter the access door 11 can be closed. It is noted that normally (the projection of) the handlebar 13 does not protrude in front of (the projection of) the transversely placed front wheel 3.

    A housing (1) for a bicycle (2), adapted to at least partially enclose the bicycle in a state in which the front wheel (3) of the bicycle is placed substantially transversely of the horizontal longitudinal direction (4) of the bicycle , wherein the housing comprises two substantially vertical side walls (5), the main directions of which, viewed in the horizontal plane, run non-parallel to each other, whereby the housing has a wide portion (6) and a narrow portion (7), the dimensions of which of the wide part are such that there is just enough space provided by the housing on the transverse front wheel, while the dimensions of the narrow part are such that there is just enough space on the rear part (8) of the bicycle by the housing commandments.
