System and method for determining parameters of the scalp and / or hair for the prescription of cosmetic products
The present invention relates to the field of the determination of parameters of the scalp and / or the hair of a user, representative of a state of the scalp and a state of the hair, in particular for the recommendation of cosmetic products adapted to this condition. determination.
For the purposes of the present invention, the term "cosmetic product" is understood to mean a product as defined in Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products.
Cosmetics, and in particular hair products on the market are more and more numerous and more and more specific. Given the diversity of existing hair products, it is best to determine the condition of the hair and scalp and to better adapt the hair products used. Hair products are, for example, shampoos, conditioners, care, etc.
In order to determine the hair products to be applied according to the individuals, it is known to rely on questionnaires to which the users answer.
Reference can be made in this regard to document US-Al-2014/0216492 which describes a method for determining the condition of the hair and a diagnostic system for the prescription of a cosmetic product that is personalized according to information obtained. using a questionnaire.
However, the analysis of these questionnaires is particularly laborious and relatively subjective.
Reference can be made in this regard to document KR-Al-101456942 which proposes a capillary analysis tool for automatically determining one or more capillary parameters by taking pictures and analyzing images, especially by contrast. The diagnostic data is compared with reference data stored on a server before being returned to a display unit. Adapted products are then recommended.
There is a need to improve the automatic and accurate determination of the state of the scalp and / or the hair of users in order to deduce the most appropriate cosmetics. The subject of the invention is a system for automatic and precise determination of one or more parameters of the hair and / or scalp of a user leading to an automatic, rapid and objective recommendation of at least one targeted hair product.
By "hair parameters" is meant in particular the capillary density, the average diameter of the hair, etc.
By "scalp parameters" is meant in particular its degree of irritation (redness), the presence of dandruff, etc. The subject of the invention is a system for determining hair and / or scalp parameters for the recommendation of at least one hair product comprising: an image acquisition module capable of acquiring or taking at least a first photograph of the scalp and its proximal region in white light and at least a second photograph of the same area of the scalp and its proximal region in blue ultraviolet light, and - a module analyzer adapted to receive and analyze said photographs of the scalp and its proximal region to automatically determine the value of one or more parameters of the hair and / or scalp.
By "blue ultraviolet light" is meant light having a wavelength of 390 to 500 nm.
"Photograph of the scalp and its proximal region" means a photograph that makes it possible to visualize the lower part of the capillary stems, in particular to measure their diameter.
Thanks to white light illumination and blue ultraviolet light, we can detect both dark color elements (black hair, chestnut, scalp redness for example) and light colored elements (hair whites, blond, dandruff, in particular). This double illumination in white light and blue ultraviolet light also makes it possible to analyze both the scalp and the hair.
In one embodiment, the analysis module comprises a module for determining at least two hair parameters, to be chosen from the mean diameter and the density of the hair.
Advantageously, the module for determining at least two parameters of the hair comprises a module for calculating the density of the hair and a module for calculating the average diameter of the hair, from a selected analysis zone on each of said photographs taken. by the image acquisition module.
In one embodiment, the analysis module comprises a module for determining at least one parameter of the scalp.
Said module comprises, for example, a module for analyzing the degree of irritation of the scalp and / or a module for analyzing the number of films present on the scalp. Said analyzes can be done by comparison between the photographs from the image acquisition module and a plurality of images from a database. Two scalp parameters representative of the state of the scalp are thus determined.
Advantageously, the image acquisition module is configured to take photographs of the scalp on a surface comprised between and O.sub.Scm.sub.C, for example equal to
Advantageously, the image acquisition module comprises a means of magnification between X30 and X40, for example equal to X35.
In one embodiment, the analysis module comprises: a module for receiving the photograph (s) of the scalp and its proximal region, acquired by the acquisition module. - Optionally, a development module of a general assessment grouping said parameters of the scalp and / or hair to obtain a general assessment of the state of the scalp and / or the condition of the hair, and - a module for recommending at least one hair product adapted according to said determined parameters and a list of products contained in a database.
The personalized automatic recommendation of at least one product is more reliable and faster. In addition, it can take into account both the condition of the scalp and the hair of the user.
In this way, it is possible to obtain, at least semi-automatically or even automatically (the determination of the redness and the number of films in particular can be automatic) accurate and rapid data on the state of the scalp and / or the hair and list of suitable hair products.
In one embodiment, the system comprises a display device able to display information transmitted by the analysis module.
According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a method for determining parameters of the hair and / or scalp of a user for the recommendation of at least one hair product comprising; a step of acquiring or taking at least a first photograph of the scalp and its proximal region according to a white light illumination and at least a second photograph of the same zone of the scalp and of its proximal region according to a blue ultraviolet light illumination, and - a step of analyzing said photographs of the scalp and its proximal region to determine the value of one or more parameters of the hair and / or scalp.
Advantageously, during the analysis of said photographs of the scalp and its proximal region, said photographs are received, and parameters of the scalp and / or hair are determined. A general assessment grouping said parameters of the scalp and / or hair may, possibly, be developed to obtain a general assessment of the state of the scalp and / or the condition of the hair.
In one embodiment of the invention, in determining scalp parameters, comparing said first photograph in white light with a plurality of images from a second database and selecting the image closest to said first photograph.
In another embodiment, the system autonomously evaluates directly from the one or more photographs the scalp parameter (s), such as, for example, the degree of redness, irritation marker and / or the number of films or the surface covered by said films.
In one embodiment, the method comprises a step of recommending at least one hair product adapted according to said determined parameters and a list of products contained in a database. The method may also comprise a step of displaying the capillary parameters and / or the scalp and / or displaying the recommended hair product or products. Other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent on reading the following description, given solely by way of nonlimiting example, and with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 schematically represents a system for determining parameters of the scalp and hair and for recommending a hair product according to an embodiment of the invention; FIG. 2 schematically illustrates in detail a test module of FIG. 1; and FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating the steps of a method for determining parameters of the scalp and the hair according to an exemplary implementation of the invention.
A system 10 for determining parameters of the scalp and hair and for recommending hair products is illustrated in FIG. 1. The hair product may be a cosmetic product, such as, for example, a hair coloring product, a shampoo, a conditioner or treatment, intended to be applied, for example, to the hair or scalp of the user.
The system 10 comprises an acquisition module or image sensor 12, a communication unit 14, an analysis module 16 and a display device 18. The communication unit 14 is able to transmit the photographic images coming from from the image acquisition module 12 to the analysis module 16 and to the display device 18. By way of nonlimiting example, all the elements of the system 10 can be integrated in a single device 11 shown in dotted lines in Figure 1. The device 11 may be, for example, a tablet, a computer or any other means equipped with an image sensor, such as for example a digital camera, a processor and a means of display, such as, for example, a screen.
As will be described in more detail below, the analysis module 16 receives and analyzes said photographic images, and transmits information to the display device 18.
The connection between the different modules of the system 10 is illustrated in dashed lines in FIGS. 1 and 2.
The image acquisition module 12 is, for example, a digital camera or a digital camera, and is provided with dual lighting: a first white light illumination and a second blue ultraviolet light illumination. In the example illustrated, the communication unit 14 is distinct from the image acquisition module 12. In a variant, it could be provided that the communication unit 14 is integrated directly into the image acquisition module 12. The communication unit may, for example, be a means of communication by wifi or infrared rays, or any other transmission means for transmitting the photographic images to the analysis module 16.
The image acquisition module 12 is configured to take a first IP photograph of a part of the scalp and its proximal region according to the first illumination and a second photograph P2 of the same part of the scalp and its proximal region. according to the second lighting. It could be envisaged that the image acquisition module 12 is configured to take a plurality of photographs of different parts of the scalp according to the first illumination, for example three photographs, and a plurality of photographs of different parts of the scalp according to the second lighting, for example three photographs. The first P1 photograph taken in the first light can detect dark hair, such as, for example, brown hair or black hair. The second photograph P2 taken according to the second illumination makes it possible to detect hair of light color, such as, for example, white hair, blond hair or discolored hair.
The image acquisition module 12 is configured to take photographs of the scalp over an area of between 0.2 cm -1 and 0.65 cm -1, preferably
The image acquisition module 12 comprises magnification means (not shown) between X30 and X40, for example X3 5.
The display device 18 comprises a screen, for example of the touch pad type or any other means making it possible to display both the photographs taken by the image acquisition module 12 and the analysis result coming from the data module. analysis 16.
The analysis module 16, illustrated in detail in FIG. 2, comprises a module 20 for receiving the photographs PI, P2 taken by the image acquisition module 12 and coming from the communication unit 14 (FIG. 1). or directly from the image acquisition module 12.
The analysis module 16 further comprises a module 24 for determining parameters of the scalp and a module 26 for determining hair parameters.
As illustrated, the scalp parameter determination module 24 includes a scalp irritation level analysis module 28 and a scalp level analysis module 30.
In a variant, the module 28 for analyzing the degree of irritation of the scalp displays, on the display device 18, the first photograph taken according to one of the lights and at least two images taken from a database B1 taken according to the same type of lighting, corresponding to two degrees of irritation of the scalp, for example not irritated or very irritated.
As a variant, a number of images from the database B1 greater than or equal to three, for example four in number, corresponding, for example, to a scalp that is not irritated, slightly irritated, moderately irritated or very irritated, could be provided. The user then selects the image from the database closest to said photograph taken in the first light.
Similarly, the scalp film level analysis module 30 displays, on the display device 18, the first photograph taken according to one of the lights and at least two images taken from the same lighting of the base of the screen. Bl data, corresponding to two levels of dandruff present on the scalp, for example no film or very film-coated. As a variant, a number of images from the database greater than or equal to three, for example four in number, corresponding for example to a scalp that does not contain dandruff, a little dandruff, and an average film-coating, could be provided. or very film-coated. The user then selects the image from the database closest to said photograph P1 taken in the same light.
The module 26 for determining the parameters of the hair further comprises a module 32 for calculating the density D of the hair and a module 34 for calculating the mean diameter φ of the hair as a function of the photographs PI, P2 of the scalp and its proximal region taken by the image acquisition module 12 and the database B1.
Each calculation module 32, 34 selects an analysis zone, for example centered on each of the photographs P1 and P2 taken by the image acquisition module 12. The analysis zone is between 0.1 cm.sup.-1 and 0.degree. .lScm ^, for example equal to O.l0cm ^. The analysis zone makes it possible both to calculate the capillary density D and the average diameter φ of the hair using a photograph PI, P2 taken according to the two lights (white light and ultraviolet blue).
In the case where the image acquisition module 12 captures a plurality of photographs of the scalp in white light and ultraviolet blue light, two possibilities exist. Either the module 26 for determining the parameters of the hair via the calculation modules 32 and 34 averages the results of the different photographs obtained with each of the lights, or the module 26 for determining the parameters of the hair transmits to the display module 18 all the photographs taken. by the image acquisition module 12 so that the user manually selects at least one photograph according to the white light and at least one photograph according to the light in blue ultraviolet. The photographs selected by the user are then transmitted to each of said calculation modules 32, 34.
The module 32 for calculating the capillary density comprises a counting module of the number of hair detecting the hair by contrast and a module for determining the capillary density as a function of the number of hair counted and the area of each analysis zone selected. . To calculate the capillary density, it is preferable to count the number of hair detected by contrast and determine the capillary density as a function of the number of hair counted and the area of each selected analysis area. It will also focus on removing curly hair, as well as hair that intersect.
The module 34 for calculating the average diameter of the hair is based on the hair detection performed by the module 32 for calculating the capillary density. The measurement of the diameter is performed only on the areas where the hair is distinct from each other, that is to say that the module 34 removes the hair that intersect. To calculate the average diameter of the hair, it is preferable to straighten the selected analysis area so as to obtain the most vertical orientation possible. The module 34 for calculating the average diameter of the hair further comprises a module (not shown) for calculating the average hair width in number of pixels over a fixed height and for determining the average diameter of the hair by applying a corrective factor γ to the calculated average width.
The calculation modules 32, 34 are based on the photograph of the same part of the scalp and its proximal region. Alternatively, one could predict that the calculation modules 32, 34 are based on photographs of different parts of the scalp and its proximal region.
The analysis module 16 also preferably comprises a module 36 for drawing up a general balance sheet comprising the parameters of the scalp and the hair, in order to obtain a summary of the state of the scalp and the condition of the scalp. condition of the hair. The analysis module 16 also includes a recommendation module 38 for products adapted to the state of the scalp and / or hair previously determined according to a list of products contained in a database B2.
In order to recommend a personalized product to the user's scalp and hair, the product recommendation module 38 compares the parameters of the scalp and the hair, preferably the degree of irritation of the scalp, the level of Scalp dandruff, hair diameter and density with scalp and hair parameters contained in a third database B3 and hair products associated with these parameters.
B2 and B3 databases can form a single base. The databases B1, B2 and B3 are, for example, stored locally.
FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating the main steps of a method for determining scalp and hair parameters and customizing at least one hair product. The method 40 comprises a step 42 of acquiring or taking at least a first IP photograph of the scalp and its proximal region in white light illumination and at least a second P2 photograph of the scalp and its region. proximal according to blue ultraviolet light illumination by the image acquisition module 12 and a step 44 of receiving said photographs.
Once the photographs taken by the image acquisition module 12, said photographs are analyzed in order to determine one or more parameters of the scalp and / or one or more parameters of the hair and to deduce a recommendation of at least a suitable hair product.
The method thus preferably comprises a step 46 for determining two parameters of the scalp, representative of the state of the scalp, such as, for example, the degree of irritation and the number of dandruff present on the scalp.
In a variant of the invention, to determine the degree of irritation and the level of dandruff present on the scalp, the user compares said first photograph P1 taken in white light with at least two images from the base. B1 and selects the closest image to said first photograph P1.
In an identical or different variant of the preceding, the method also comprises a step 48 of determining two hair parameters representative of the state of the hair, such as, for example, the density and the capillary diameter. By way of non-limiting example, in order to calculate the density of the hair, the number of hair is counted by detecting the hair by contrast and the capillary density is determined according to the number of hair counted and the area of each analysis zone. selected. As a non-limiting example, to calculate the average diameter of the hair, it detects and removes the hair that intersect. Curly hair can also be detected and removed. Once the curved hair is removed, the analysis area is oriented so that the hair to be analyzed is arranged in a vertical plane and the average hair width is calculated in number of pixels over a fixed height. A corrective factor γ can then be applied to the calculated average width to determine the average diameter of the hair.
Once the condition of the hair and scalp is determined, the method preferably comprises a step 50 of drawing up a general assessment of the state of the scalp and the condition of the previously determined hair and displays this result on the display device 18.
A step 52 for recommending a hair product is also provided in order to provide a list of at least one hair product adapted to the state of the scalp and / or hair previously determined according to a list of products contained in the B2 database. During the step 52 of recommending a hair product, the parameters of the scalp and / or hair previously determined or the balance obtained are compared with parameters of the scalp and hair or the reference checks contained in a third database B3, whether or not merged with the B2 base, and hair products associated with these elements are proposed by the system.
With the system according to the invention, a complete diagnosis of the hair and / or the scalp, preferably the hair and the scalp, can be carried out from at least one photograph of the scalp and its region taken according to a light. white light and at least one photograph of the same area of the scalp and taken in ultraviolet blue light and data provided by a database.
