We will now consider in detail the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Hereinafter, a mobile device according to the present invention will be explained in more detail.
As shown in FIG. 1, a mobile device 100 comprises a body 101 having no edge or sharp limit. The body 101 creates a simple appearance due to the combination of a front cover 110 and a rear cover 120. The front face indicates the direction of the z axis and the upper face indicates the direction of the y axis on FIG. 1.
The front cover 110 forms a simple curve without sharp edges to separate a front surface and a side surface from each other. Preferably, a display module 140 (see FIGS. 4 to 6) and the front cover 110 do not form a separation line on a surface of the mobile device 100.
When the device 100 is in standby mode, the mobile device 100 may have a time display system 103. The time display system 103 may be in the form of a liquid crystal display device. (LCD) or an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) so as to be operated with low power consumption under conditions where the display module 140 is not activated.
As seen in FIG. 4, the display module 140 is located behind the front cover 110. The display module 140 may be in the form of an LCD device very convenient to carry, and consuming little energy because of its low voltage Operating. The display module 140 may be of a flat type, or may be of a curved type attached to the front cover 110 (see Fig. 8).
An RF radio frequency module 130 having an antenna and other members for mobile service communications and a circuit support substrate such as a printed circuit board (CCI) 132 having central processing components may be disposed in the devices. mobile 100.
A local communication module 150 for performing radio communication with an earphone may be disposed on the CCI 132 so as not to require a connection device, such as a hole, bump or interruption on the surface of the front cover 110. and the back cover 120. The local communication module 150 may be in the form of a BLUETOOTH system or a combination of infrared data (IrDA), each using a communication standard, or may be in the form of an antenna for radio frequency identification (RFID) and a circuit.
A receiver or speaker 160 for delivering sounds is disposed in the rear cover 120. The receiver or the speaker 160 can be used to emit sounds by the tremor of the air. A user can receive a call with the mobile device 100 placed in contact with his or her ear without rotating the mobile device 100 up or down. In this way, the comfort of the user is improved. Unlike the prior art mobile device where the loudspeaker is disposed at the front upper end, the speaker 160 is disposed on a rear surface of the mobile device 100 in the present invention. In this way, the area of the display module 140 can be enlarged. As shown in FIG. 4, the display module 140 is arranged to almost adhere to the front cover 110 at its ends. The magnified area display module 140 provides more visual information, thus allowing the user to view a high definition image.
In another embodiment, the speaker 160 may be made to function by bone conduction so that the sounds can be transmitted even as the speaker 160 touches the user's ear via the device. Once the speaker 160 is turned on, the vibrations of the loudspeaker 160 are transmitted to the front cover 110 and to the back cover 120. The vibrations are then transmitted to the user's brain by the facial bones. / the user's ear bone, which indirectly affect the front cover 110 or the rear cover 120. In this way, the user can perceive vibrations in the form of sounds. Unlike a general listening system, which uses air as the medium between the mobile device and the user, the bone conduction method does not require an air hole through which air is introduced. or evacuated, thus creating a simple aspect of the mobile device.
Considering FIG. 4, a battery 170 for supplying electricity to the mobile device 100 is disposed on a rear side of the display module 140. The battery 170 may be of the removable type or of the fixed type requiring no insertion opening. The battery 170 may require a contact charging port for charging the device while connected to an external wire, or a non-contact charging port 171 for charging the device without being directly connected to an external source. The non-contact charging port 171 includes a coil for charging by a magnetic field induced current of a coil on a charger (not shown).
If a camera (not shown) is to be placed in the mobile device, the camera may be disposed on an upper face of the back cover 120 to prevent a complex appearance of the moving device.
As seen in FIG. 2, when electricity is supplied to the display module 140 of the mobile device 100 because it has been turned on or has left a standby mode, a display 104 provided by the display module 140 is displayed on the front cover 110. However, if the display 104 is off, the limit for separating from one another an area displayed on the screen and a non-displayed area is not visible, as shown in FIG. 1.
As shown in FIGS. 5 to 7, the front cover 110 includes a support member 111 without any sharp edges to separate a front surface and a back surface of the support member from each other. A shielding layer 114 is disposed on the support member 111 to remove a boundary between a displayed area and an area not displayed on the screen 104 when the mobile device 100 is in standby mode or when the latter is off. voltage (or to some extent when energized). The support member 111 may be made of translucent material and, preferably, it is formed to have a thickness to maintain a predetermined stiffness to withstand each handling. Here, the adjective "translucent" can be understood to range from almost complete translucency to almost complete opacity.
The shielding layer 114 has a reflective layer 113 formed on its upper face and a printed layer 116 disposed on a lower face of the reflective layer 113. The printed layer 116 may be attached to the support member 111.
In order to remove a boundary between a displayed area and an area not displayed on the screen 104 when the mobile device is in standby mode or when it is turned off, the printed layer 116 separates a translucent transparent area for the light delivered. by the display module 140 and a non-transparent area such that the opacity decreases from the edge of the support member 111 towards the center of the support member 111. As seen in FIG. 6, the printed layer 116 is formed by gradation printing so that the translucency between a transparent area and a non-transparent area can be gradually changed.
More particularly, as shown in FIG. 7, the printed layer 116 becomes brighter towards the center of the support member 111 and becomes darker towards the edge of the support member 111. In this way, the edge 140a of the display module 140 is partially visible . The printed layer 116 is constructed so that light from the display module 140 can decrease towards the edge of the screen when the display module 140 is on.
A transparent protective layer 112 for protecting the printed layer 116 may be attached to the printed layer 116. The transparent protective layer 112 may be formed by molding a transparent resin film. Once the printed layer 116 has been printed on the transparent resin film, the transparent resin film is integrally molded onto the support member 111. In this way, the transparent resin film serves as a transparent layer protection 112.
Alternatively, on the printed layer 116 a film can be printed which is carried on the support member 111. Then, the film can be removed and a transparent material can be applied to the printed layer 116. Here, the material transparent applied serves as transparent protective layer 112.
The reflective layer 113 is disposed on the printed layer 116 (possibly via the transparent protective intermediate layer 112) and, together with the printed layer 116, effectively removes the boundary between the displayed area and the non-displayed area by partially reflecting the striking light. the support element 111. Preferably, the reflective layer 113 may be of metal oxide. Although not shown, the transparent protective layer 112 may be formed on the reflective layer 113.
As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, a conductive film layer 115 for touch-sensing keys for gripping with the mobile device 100 is provided on the support member 111. The conductive film layer 115 may be made of creating an indium tin oxide (ITO) film on an inner surface of the support member 111, thereby detecting a change in capacitance when touched by a finger. Alternatively, the conductive film layer 115 may be two ITO films separated from each other by a certain gap, thereby detecting a change in capacitance when touched by a finger.
As shown in FIG. 3, when the mobile device 100 is in dialing mode, the display 104 may consist of a number entry screen 104b for entering numbers and a number display screen 104a for displaying the numbers entered. . A user can dial a number by touching each number on the number entry screen 104b.
As shown in FIG. 8, a second example of a front cover of a mobile communications device is proposed. In this exemplary embodiment, a display module 240 and a conductive film layer 215 are respectively formed to conform to a curved shape of the front cover 210. In this manner, a side surface of the display module 240 may be visible on the side surface of the front cover 210. Here, signals can be input into the mobile device by touching it laterally.
As seen in FIG. 9, hooks 117, 127 for hooking to each other the front cover 110 and the rear cover 120 by engagement can be present respectively on each side of the front cover and the rear cover. This configuration differs from the conventional method in which a threaded hole is provided in a rear surface of the movable device, thus creating a simple appearance. Once the front cover 110 and the rear cover 120 are assembled with each other, only the edges of the front cover 110 and the rear cover 120 are uncovered.
As shown in FIG. 10, a mobile device 300 includes a front cover 310 without a sharp edge between a front surface and a rear surface, a rear cover 320, and a side cover 380 to partially create a lateral appearance between the front cover 310 and the rear cover. 320. The side cover 380 may extend inward to serve as a frame for supporting the front cover 310, the rear cover 320 and internal members of the movable device 300.
As shown in FIG. 11, a mobile device 400 includes a body 401, a display screen 404 for displaying visual information, and a keypad 490 for inputting signals.
The keypad 490 may include one or more keys 491 such as a call key, a direction control key, etc., to effectively utilize the large area display 404. The keypad 490 may be in touch form or pressure form.
As indicated above, the mobile device according to the present invention has no edge for separating a front surface and a rear surface from each other, and a boundary between a displayed area and an area not displayed on the screen is deleted when the mobile device is in sleep mode or when it is turned off. In this way, the mobile device has a simple appearance and its use by the user is facilitated.
