Field of the Invention The invention relates to an air purge device for liquid product dispenser without air intake. The invention also relates to a dispensing head for such a dispenser, and a closure device for such a dispenser. The invention finally relates to a liquid product dispenser without air intake comprising such a dispensing head and such a closure device. The invention applies more particularly to the distribution of cosmetic or pharmaceutical products from a reservoir equipped in particular with means for sampling the product.
It can be a rigid or flexible tank. As the consumer takes the product, a depression settles in the tank and the sampling system must overcome this depression to continue to work properly, or the internal volume of the reservoir is reduced, or deforming if the reservoir is flexible, or thanks to a movable bottom provided with sealing means, via a piston for example, if the reservoir is rigid, to compensate for the vacuum thus created.
When assembling the dispenser, there may be residual air in the tank. This residual air can lead to disturbances in the use of the product, ie incomplete dosages, spitting during dispensing, alteration of the chemical properties of the product, etc.
State of the art
Dispensing heads are known comprising a flexible purge ring making it possible to ensure the function of purging air of the residual air present in the reservoir. However, this flexible ring is relatively fragile, especially at its peripheral sealing lip, and can be damaged during its bulk packaging or its distribution on the packaging lines, whether assembled or not in the head of distribution. Indeed, even when assembled in the dispensing head, the ring protrudes from the dispensing head and all peripheral periphery, whose lip is exposed, hence the risk of deterioration. But the hermeticity of the dispenser and the good conditioning of the product inside depend closely on the reliability of the ring. Summary of the invention
The present invention aims to overcome the various disadvantages mentioned above, by means of a device for purging the residual air present in the tank, and while protecting the purge ring as soon as it leaves the mold and until it is installed in the tank to avoid any risk of subsequent leakage.
This object is achieved by means of an air purging device for a liquid product dispenser without air intake comprising a reservoir equipped with means for sampling the product, said device comprising a purge ring comprising a deformable sealing lip which is housed inside a protective part adapted to fit inside the tank, the deformation of the lip during assembly of the air purging device in the tank causing the air purge tank. The main idea of this invention is to systematically associate a protective piece intended to protect the purge ring, from its manufacture and until it is mounted in the dispenser. The function of the purge ring is to purge the residual air present in the tank at the time of assembly of the dispenser. The purge ring is activated only during the assembly of the dispenser, so that it can be put into service without air intake. The purge ring does not intervene once the dispenser is put into service and delivers doses of product. The absence of air in the tank is then ensured either by deformation of the tank or by a movable piston.
According to the various embodiments of the invention, which can be taken together or separately: - the purge ring is provided with retaining means and wedging cooperating with the protective part. - The retaining means and wedging consist of a socket cooperating with a central sleeve extending from the protective part. - the axial sleeve of the purge ring is inserted inside the central sleeve of the protective part - the central sleeve of the protective part is inserted inside the axial sleeve of the purge ring - the ring purge consists of a cap extended annularly by said sealing lip. - Said sealing lip connects to the periphery of the cap by a concave portion and is plate, by bracing, on an inner wall of the protective part. said protection member consists of a disc having a central orifice from which a central sleeve extends, and a peripheral sealing skirt connected to the outer periphery of the disc, the peripheral sealing lip of the purge ring coming to press against the wall of the central sleeve or against the wall of said peripheral sealing skirt of the protective part. - the disc of the protective part has a circular section - the disc of the protective part has an oval section
According to a first possible configuration, the protection piece consists of a collar belonging to a dispensing head of the product dispenser.
In a second possible configuration, the protective part consists of a piston belonging to the product distributor.
According to the first configuration, the invention also relates to a dispensing head of a liquid product dispenser without air intake, comprising a pump and an air purging device as described above, the protection part consisting of a collar clipped on the pump, said retaining and locking means of the purge ring consisting of an axial sleeve inserted and wedged in the central sleeve of the neck.
More generally, the invention relates to a liquid product dispenser without air intake comprising a reservoir and a dispensing head as described above, the lip of the purge ring being deformed elastically by overpressure during the assembly of the dispensing head on the tank. The purge of residual air existing in the distributor during its assembly is then achieved via the dispensing head.
According to the second configuration, the invention also relates to a closure device for liquid product dispenser without air intake comprising a reservoir equipped with means for sampling the product, said device comprising a bottom piece forming the bottom of the dispenser and being equipped with an air purging device as described above, the protection piece consisting of a piston mounted on the bottom piece.
According to the various embodiments of the invention, which can be taken together or separately: - the bottom part consists of a bottom forming the bottom of the distributor, and a peripheral portion adapted to surround the reservoir. - The air purge device is movable in translation relative to the bottom piece, between an initial position out of its packaging and until the introduction of the closure device in the distributor, and a final retracted position. before the dispensing of the product, the passage from the extended position to the retracted position provoking the purge of air from the distributor by deformation of the lip of the purge ring. said means for retaining and setting the purge ring consist of an axial sleeve inserted and wedged in the central sleeve of the piston, the ring being movable relative to the piston between an initial position outward where the axial sleeve protrudes from the bottom piece to the outside and a retracted end position where the axial sleeve is located inside the bottom piece, the passage from the extended position to the retracted position causing the air purge of the distributor by deformation of the lip of the purge ring. the piston comprises a first central sleeve extending from an upper face of the disc and cooperating with the purge ring, and a second central sleeve extending from a lower face of the disc towards the bottom of the reservoir and being adapted to insert into a central hole provided for this purpose in the bottom room. - The ring is fixed relative to the piston, the piston being movable between an initial output position where the second central sleeve protrudes from the bottom piece outwards and a final retracted position where the second central sleeve is located inside. from the bottom piece, the passage from the extended position to the retracted position causing the air purge of the distributor by deformation of the lip of the purge ring. - The free end of the skirt of the piston is wedged against the inner wall of the tank, to ensure airtightness of the dispenser during use.
More generally, the invention relates to a liquid product dispenser without air intake comprising a reservoir equipped with means for sampling the product and a closure device as described above. The purge of the residual air existing in the distributor during its assembly is then achieved via the closure device.
The invention will be better understood, and other objects, details, features and advantages thereof will become more clearly apparent in the following detailed explanatory description of at least one embodiment of the invention. invention given by way of purely illustrative and non-limiting example, with reference to the accompanying schematic drawings.

detailed description
The air purge devices shown in the various figures are intended to be mounted on dispensers of liquid or semi-liquid products 7 operating without air intake and sometimes called "airless".
This type of dispenser is notably equipped with a reservoir 6 and with means for sampling the product 7 such as a pump 5.
Referring to Figure 1, there is shown a distributor head according to the prior art conventionally comprising the following elements: - a push button 4 - a pump 5 bringing the product from a tank (not shown) to the push button 4 - a collar 2 mounted on the pump 5 - a trim ring 3 mounted on the neck 2 and to hide the pump 5
In this case, the reservoir may consist of a flexible reservoir of the bag or tube type, or a rigid reservoir of the vial type. This tank may or may not contain a piston, or any other system allowing the distributor to operate without air intake.
Such a dispensing head may include a residual air during the assembly of this head on the reservoir during the conditioning operation. This residual air can cause disruption in the use of the product to be dispensed.
For this, a flexible purge ring 1 is added to the dispensing head, and ensures the air purge function.
This purge ring 1 is attached to the neck 2 of the dispensing head.
It consists more precisely of a frustoconically shaped cap 11, extended laterally outwards by a sealing lip 12, directed perpendicular to the central axis X of the ring 1. This lip 12 is generally made of a flexible material , for example low density polyethylene, or elastomer-based, and is fragile, especially at its thinned end which is intended to come into bearing contact, under slight stress, against the inner wall of the tank.
The purge ring 1 also comprises an axial sleeve 13 centered on the cap 11. This sleeve 13 is provided with holding means for attaching to the pump 5. The sleeve 13 is hollow, and has a hole 14 passing therethrough. that the product contained in the reservoir can pass through the sleeve 13, then into the pump 5 to be brought to the push button 4.
The ring 1 is thus fixed to the pump 5 and protrudes in the lower part of the dispensing head. The lip 12 is separated from the neck 2 by an interstice e. The lip 12 is thus exposed, without any protection around it, and can be damaged during the bulk storage of the dispensing heads thus equipped with rings 1.
Figure 2 shows a dispensing head according to the invention. It is similar to that of FIG. 1 for the elements which bear the same reference, with the exception of the collar 2 and the purge ring 1, which together form a first possible configuration of the air purge device according to FIG. invention.
Indeed, the neck 2 is now provided with a peripheral skirt 24 extending towards the ring 1 so as to protect its lip 12.
More specifically, the collar 2 conventionally comprises a disk 21, of circular or oval section for example, provided with a central orifice from which extends a central sleeve 23 in which is inserted the lower part of the pump 5. This neck 2 also conventionally comprises an annular return 22 directed towards the push button 4 and allowing the centering and wedging of the trim band 3. In addition to this return, and as previously announced, the neck 2 comprises according to the invention a peripheral skirt 24 connected to the periphery of the disk 21 and extending in a direction opposite to the annular return 22. The lip 12 of the ring 1 comes resting against the inner wall of this peripheral skirt 24.
Just as in the case of the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the airtightness between the dispensing head and the reservoir is not provided by the ring 1 but by the peripheral skirt 24 of the neck 2. This skirt 24 therefore comes into sealing engagement against the inner wall of the tank.
The ring 1 as for it always comprises a cap 11 of frustoconical shape, but with a much more obtuse angle, allowing a consequent reduction of the height of the ring 1. Thus the size of the ring 1 is reduced compared to the prior art, which makes it possible to manufacture more compact dispensers for an equivalent volume of product. The cap 11 could also be hemispherical.
The sealing lip 12 is directed parallel to the central axis X of the ring 1. This lip 12 is connected to the periphery of the cap 11 by a concave portion 15. The lip 12 comes into contact, by arcboutement, with the wall internal of the peripheral skirt 24 of the collar 2. The lip 12 of the purge ring 1 is thus housed in the skirt 24 of the neck 2. This lip 12 is thus protected in case of bulk packaging of the dispensing heads and their sealing can be checked before assembly on the tank. The neck 2 therefore acts as a protective piece for the ring 1.
The operation of this dispensing head is illustrated in FIG. 3. When the head is knocked down on the reservoir 6 during conditioning (that is to say during the assembly of the dispenser), the skirt 24 for sealing the collar 2 is housed in the reservoir 6. The descent of this head in the product 7 causes a slight overpressure in the reservoir 6 which elastically deforms the lip 12 of the ring 1 purge so that the residual air present in the reservoir 6 can pass between the skirt 24 of the neck 2 and the lip 12 of the ring 1 to escape the reservoir 6. This air is then contained in a space provided for this purpose between the ring 1 and the collar 2. A light overflow of the liquid product 7 in this same space, after having expelled the air over the flexible lip 12, ensures complete purging of the assembly.
This reservoir 6 can be flexible or rigid, contain a piston 8 (or another system) or not to monitor the variability of the volume of product 7.
Figure 4 shows a second possible configuration of the air purging device according to the invention. It always consists of a purge ring 1, and a protective part consisting in this case of a piston 8. This device is intended to be arranged no longer on a distributor head, so in the upper part of a distributor, but in the bottom of the tank 6 of the distributor, so in the lower part of a dispenser. The piston 8 moves from the bottom to the top of the tank 6 in order to reduce the internal volume of the tank 6 as the consumer draws product 7. It slidably ensures static and dynamic sealing with the inner wall of the tank. tank 6.
The ring 1 is identical to that described in Figures 2 and 3, except for the sleeve 13 axial. This sleeve 13 always has a central orifice 14, but which is no longer open at the cap 11, on the contrary, because the ring 1 must seal the reservoir 6 with the piston 8 when the latter goes up gradually during the use of the dispenser. The ring 1 and the piston 8 must therefore have a completely sealed surface with respect to the reservoir 6. The cap 11 of the ring 1 is therefore full, without orifice.
The bushing 13 has at its free end a tip 16 allowing it to be interlocked by elastic deformation in the sleeve of the piston 8.
The piston 8 has a disc 81, of circular or oval cross-section for example, to fit the section of the reservoir 6. This disc 81 has a central orifice from which two sleeves 83 extend, 85.
A first sleeve 85 extends from the upper surface of the disk 81 towards the ring 1, and accommodates the sleeve 13 of the ring 1. A second sleeve 83 extends from the lower surface of the disk 81, towards the bottom of the tank 6 when the piston 8 is mounted in the tank 6. The orifice is opening into the two sleeves 83,85. The diameter of the first sleeve 85 is smaller than the diameter of the second sleeve 83. There is therefore a shoulder 80 at the junction between the two sleeves 83,85. The tip 16 of the sleeve 13 of the ring 1 is retained by this shoulder 80 following its snap in the second sleeve 83 of the piston 8.
The piston 8 also comprises a first peripheral skirt 84 connected to the outer periphery of the disk 81 and extending in the direction of the ring 1. The lip 12 of the ring 1 abuts against the inner wall of this first peripheral skirt 84. lip 12 is thus protected in the piston 8.
The piston 8 has a second peripheral skirt 82 connected to the outer periphery of the disk 81 and extending toward the bottom of the tank 6 when the piston 8 is mounted in the tank 6. The free ends of the two skirts 82, 84 consist of 89,88 sealing lips, the function of which is to seal the tank 6 when using the dispenser. These lips 89,88 are also fragile, just like the lip 12 of the ring 1. In order to protect them during their storage, the assembly 1 purge ring and piston 8 is fixed in a bottom piece 9 which will be stored in bulk then packaged. This bottom part 9 protects the lips 89,88 of the piston 8, as can be seen in FIGS. 5a and 5b. The bottom piece assembly 9, purge ring 1 and piston 8 is called shutter device because it allows to seal a tank 6 which has no bottom. It is this type of tank 6 that will be used to accommodate the ring 1 purge and piston assembly 8 according to the invention.
In FIGS. 5a and 5b, the closure device is reversed since the distributor assembly is made with the head downwards, in order to pour the product 7 into the tank 6 by its open bottom.
The bottom part 9 comprises: a bottom 91 provided with a central orifice into which the second sleeve 83 of the piston 8 engages; this bottom 91 forms the bottom of the tank 6 and therefore the distributor. a peripheral section 92; this section is long 92a in FIG. 5a (variant a) and short 92b in FIG. 5b (variant b).
This bottom part 9 cooperates with a reservoir 6, equipped with a dispensing head, as shown in Figures 6a and 6b.
The tank 6 in FIG. 6a (variant a) comprises a nesting zone 61 situated at a distance from its open end 62, so that the long section 92a of the bottom piece 9 according to FIG. 5a comes to fit into it. .
The tank 6 in FIG. 6b (variant b) has an engagement zone 61 located relatively close to its open end 62, so that the short section 92b of the bottom piece 9 according to FIG. 5b can fit into it. .
It is therefore possible to vary the length of the peripheral portion 92 of the bottom piece 9 according to the location of the nesting zone 61 on the tank 6, and vice versa.
Here is the operation of the shutter device according to the two variants a and b.
Figures 6a and 6b: the product 7 to be packaged is poured into the tank 6, as shown in Figures 6a and 6b.
FIGS. 7a and 7b: The bottom piece 9 is then positioned above the tank 6 and centered on the tank 6, so that the lip 88 of the first skirt 84 of the piston 8 comes into contact with the inner wall of the tank 6 so as to seal it. As the bottom part 9 approaches the tank 6, the air pressure contained in the volume A increases. This volume A corresponds to the volume of air included in the reservoir 6 between the product 7 and the ring 1.
Figures 8a and 8b: The bottom part 9 continues its approach, until it fits on the reservoir 6. The lip 89 of the second skirt 82 of the piston 8 finally comes into contact with the inner wall of the reservoir 6 so as to finalize the seal. The volume of air A is driven into the chamber B by elastically deforming the lip 12 of the purge ring 1. Chamber B corresponds to the space defined between ring 1 and piston 8.
Figures 9a and 9b: By pressing the second sleeve 83 of the piston 8 protruding from the bottom piece 9 so as to fully return the piston 8 within the tank 6, the end of the air volume A is driven into the chamber B by deformation of the lip 12 of the purge ring 1. A slight volume of product 7 is also driven into the chamber B to ensure complete purge. The dispenser is then conditioned without residual air, and can be repositioned at the place. The piston 8 (and the ring 1 which is fixed thereto) can then progressively move towards the dispensing head as and when the product 7 is dispensed.
The piston 8 is movable relative to the bottom piece 9 between an initial position visible in Figures 5a to 8b, and a final retracted position visible in Figures 9a to 9b. The ring 1 remains fixed with respect to the piston 8.
Figures 10 to 12 show a third possible configuration of the purge device. The bottom part 9, the piston 8 and the ring 1 are identical to the parts described according to FIGS. 5a to 9b (two variants always possible), with a few details as explained below.
The first skirt 84 of the piston 8 has ribs 87 formed in the inner wall of the skirt 84, a height starting at the junction with the disk 81 and stopping before the start of the lip 88 of the skirt 84. This grooved zone 87 therefore does not extend at the level of the lip 88 of the first skirt 84.
The piston 8 comprises a single sleeve 83 developing in the direction of the bottom piece 9, and coming into the hole of the bottom piece 9.
The purge ring 1 comprises an extended axial sleeve 13, able to fit inside the sleeve 83 of the piston 8. This sleeve 13 also comprises a grooved zone 10 extending over its entire length, except at its level. tip 16 end.
The purge ring 1 is movable in translation relative to the piston 8 between: - an extended position where the sleeve 13 completely traverses the sleeve of the piston 8 to protrude. In this position, the lip 12 of the purge ring 1 comes into contact with the grooved zone 87 of the first skirt 84 of the piston 8. Thanks to the grooved zones 87 and 10, a stream of air can thus circulate between the lip 12 of the ring 1 and the first skirt 84 of the piston 8, and between the bushing 13 of the ring 1 and the sleeve 83 of the piston 8. The residual air can thus escape to the outside. - A retracted position where the tip 16 end of the sleeve 13 of the ring 1 is no longer inserted into the sleeve 83 of the piston 8, but is at the periphery of the orifice made in the disc 81. This tip 16 has an outer diameter slightly larger than that of the sleeve 13, and thus bears tightly against the disc 81 of the piston 8. No more air flow can then flow between the sleeve 13 and the sleeve 83.
In FIG. 10, the bottom piece 9 is positioned above the tank 6 and centered on the tank 6, so that the lip 88 of the first skirt 84 of the piston 8 comes into contact with the inner wall of the tank 6 in order to seal it. The ring 1 is in the extended position. As the bottom part 9 approaches the tank 6, the air pressure contained in the volume A does not increase and passes directly into the chamber B via said ribs 87 arranged in the first skirt 84. of the piston 8, then escapes outwardly passing between the sleeve 13 and the sleeve 83 as illustrated by the arrows.
In FIG. 11, the bottom part 9 continues its approach until it fits onto the reservoir 6. The lip 89 of the second skirt 82 of the piston 8 finally comes into contact with the inner wall of the reservoir 6 so as to finalize sealing. The volume of air A is always driven into the chamber B via the ribs 87 formed in the skirt 84 of the piston 8, then escapes outwards via the ribs 10 arranged in the sleeve 13 of the ring 1.
In Figure 12, following manual pressure exerted on the tip 16 end of the sleeve 13 of the ring 1, the latter goes into the retracted position. The end of the air volume A is driven by the advance of the purge ring 1 within the reservoir 6. A slight volume of product 7 is also driven into the chamber B to ensure the complete purge, by elastic deformation of the lip 12 of the purge ring 1. The relative movement between the bushing 13 of the purge ring 1 and the sleeve 83 of the piston 8 closes the air exhaust towards the outside and the lip 12 of the ring 1 leaves the grooved zone 87 of the skirt 84 of the piston. 8. The dispenser is then conditioned without residual air.
The sleeve 83 of the piston 8 is thus released from the sleeve 13 of the ring 1, it is tightened so as to be released from the bottom piece 9. To do this, the sleeve 83 is naturally indented when not subject to no constraint. The piston 8 is then free to translate relative to the reservoir 6 to regulate the internal volume of the reservoir 6 according to the product sample 7 by the consumer.
In this configuration, the purge is performed without overpressure, which optimizes the purge.
Figure 13 illustrates a fourth possible configuration of a purge device fitted to a closure device. The bottom part 9, the piston 8 and the ring 1 are identical to the parts described according to FIGS. 5a to 9b (two variants always possible), with a few details as explained below.
The piston 8 always has a double sleeve 83,85, but the free end 87 of the first sleeve 85 is now closed. Consequently, the central orifice opens only on the side of the second sleeve 83.
Regarding the purge ring 1, the sleeve 13 and the lip 12 are now reversed, that is to say positioned one in place of the other.
More specifically, the sleeve 13 extends from the outer periphery of the cap 11 towards the piston 8, while the lip 12 extends from the periphery of the inner orifice 14 of the cap 11 towards the piston 8. The lip 12 always comes into contact with an inner wall of the piston 8, but it is now the wall of the first sleeve 85. The lip 12 surrounds the first sleeve 85, and comes into contact with the wall of the sleeve 85. The sleeve 13 comes into contact with the inner wall of the first skirt 84 of the piston 8 in a sealed manner.
In this configuration, the air volume at A is always driven into the chamber B, by deformation of the lip 12 of the purge ring 1. However, this air now circulates between the lip 12 of the purge ring 1 and the first sleeve 85 of the piston 8, in place of the first skirt 84 of the piston 8. The general operation is identical to that described for FIGS. 9b.
With respect to the above description, the optimal dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, including variations in size, materials, shapes, function and modes of operation, assembly and use are considered apparent and obvious to those skilled in the art, and all relationships equivalent to what is illustrated in the drawings and what is described in the specification are intended to be included in the present invention.
