Adapter for a motor vehicle wiper
TECHNICAL AREA
The present invention relates in particular to an adapter for a wiper, in particular a motor vehicle.
STATE OF THE ART
A car is conventionally equipped with windshield wipers to wash the windshield and to prevent the driver's vision from being disturbed. These wipers generally comprise a drive arm, performing an angular reciprocating movement, and elongated brushes, themselves carrying scraper blades made of an elastic material. These blades rub against the windshield and evacuate the water by bringing it out of the driver's field of vision. The brooms are made in the form, or, in a conventional version, articulated stirrups that hold the scraper blade in several discrete places by giving it a bend allowing it to marry the eventual curvature of the windshield, or, in a newer version called "fiat blade" (for "flat blade"), a semi-rigid assembly that keeps the scraper blade along its length thanks to one or bending vertebrae to apply the broom on the bumper -brise without having to use stirrups.
In both solutions, the blade is attached to the drive arm by a connector system including a connector and an adapter. The connector is a piece which is secured to the blade and which is usually attached directly to the scraper blade or the fiat blade, while the adapter is secured to the arm. The adapter is an intermediate piece that allows the connection and attachment of the connector on the drive arm. It is generally configured to be engaged in a head or end piece in the form of a clevis and U-shaped cross section of the drive arm.
Each of these members (connector and adapter) comprises hinge means configured to cooperate with means complementary to the other member, to define at least one transverse axis of articulation of the members, which is an axis of articulation of the blade vis-à-vis the arm. In the present art, one of the members, such as the connector, generally comprises a substantially cylindrical physical axis which defines the axis of articulation and which is received in a housing of complementary shape to the other member. The adapter generally comprises a body configured to be engaged in the end piece of the arm so that the body extends at least partly between two substantially parallel side walls of the end piece. The body of the adapter is connected at one end to a fairing or cowling, commonly called cap, on which the free end of the end piece abuts. Finally, the body of the adapter generally comprises an actuating button which is engaged by elastic latching in a hole of a transverse wall of the end piece, when the latter is in abutment on the cap, to lock the cap. adapter vis-à-vis the end piece in this position.
An adapter makes it possible to associate a broom with a particular type of end piece. In the case of the aforementioned end pieces U section, there are several varieties.
There are also arms equipped with end-locking parts. An end piece of this type is integral with a cylindrical rod intended to define said hinge axis, and intended to be rotatably engaged in a complementary shape of the orifice of the adapter body and in an orifice of the connector. The end piece further includes an L-shaped bracket or hook that overlaps the adapter.
In the present art, there are as many varieties of adapter as varieties of end pieces, which is not practical or economical. There is therefore a real need for a universal adapter adapted to be mounted on at least two or more end pieces of wiper arm, and in particular on end pieces of different types.
There are, for example, several types of side locking end-piece arms. These arms can for example be distinguished from each other by the width of the end pieces and in particular by the width of the L-shaped tabs. End pieces comprise L-shaped tabs having a relatively small width. The cylindrical rods of these tabs are generally shouldered and each comprise a bearing shoulder on the adapter. The invention proposes a simple, effective and economical solution to this need.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
It should be noted that the figures disclose the invention in detail to implement the invention, said figures can of course be used to better define the invention where appropriate.
In the following description, the longitudinal or lateral names refer to the orientation of the wiper blade or the drive arm according to the invention. The longitudinal direction corresponds to the main axis of the broom or the arm in which it extends, while the lateral orientations correspond to concurrent lines, that is to say which cross the longitudinal direction, in particular perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the broom or arm in its plane of rotation. For the longitudinal directions, the names outside (or rear) or inside (or before) are assessed relative to the point of attachment of the blade on the arm, the inner name corresponding to the part where the arm and a half-broom s' extend, or relative to the attachment point of the arm to the vehicle. Finally, the directions referenced as upper or lower correspond to orientations perpendicular to the plane of rotation of the wiper blade, the lower denomination containing the plane of the windshield.
There is illustrated in FIG. 19 a windscreen wiper 10 comprising in particular a brush 12 and an arm 14 for driving the brush 12.
The blade 12 is preferably of the fiat blade type and comprises a longitudinal body 16, a wiper blade 18, generally made of rubber, and at least one vertebra (not visible) which stiffens the blade and promotes its application to a shield. vehicle breeze.
The body 16 of the blade 12 may comprise an upper aerodynamic deflector 20 intended to improve the operation of the wiper system, the purpose of this deflector being to improve the plating of the blade on the windshield and therefore the aerodynamic performance of the blade. wiper.
The blade 12 may further comprise end tips 22 or hooking clips of the blade 18 and the vertebra on the body 16, these end pieces 22 being located at each of the longitudinal ends of the body 16.
The brush 12 comprises substantially in its middle an intermediate connector 24. An adapter 26 secured to the arm 14 is mounted on the connector 24 so as to maintain a degree of freedom in pivoting about an axis of articulation Y which is a transverse axis substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the blade 12. This degree of freedom allows a pivoting of the blade 12 vis-à-vis the arm 14 and thus allows the broom to follow the curvature of the windshield during its movements. The adapter 26 can be detached from the arm 14 by pressing an actuation button, here a push button 27, carried by the adapter.
The arm 14 is intended to be driven by a motor to follow a reciprocating angular movement to evacuate the water and possibly other undesirable elements covering the windshield. The adapter 26 connects the blade 12 to the arm 14 and in particular to a head or end piece 28 of the arm which can be formed integrally with the arm or attached and fixed thereto.
In the example shown, the adapter 26 may be connected to an end piece 28 of a first arm 14 which forms a substantially U-shaped cross-section yoke, and to an end piece 28 'of a second arm 14', vertical locking type, visible in particular in Figures 3, 4 and 6.
In FIG. 19, the end piece 28 has an elongate shape whose axis of elongation A is generally substantially parallel to the axis of elongation or longitudinal axis of the blade 12. The end piece 28 comprises a connecting part to the rest of the arm 14, for example by crimping. This part has a generally elongated shape and extends along an axis B substantially parallel to the axis A and at a distance from this axis. The portion is connected to a rear or inner end of the remainder of the end piece 28.
The end piece 28 comprises two lateral walls 32a, 32b whose upper longitudinal edges are interconnected by an upper transverse wall 34. The walls 32a, 32b and the wall 34 delimit between them a housing space of the adapter 26. walls 32a, 32b comprise at their lower longitudinal edges means, such as hooks, retaining the adapter 26 in the aforementioned space.
The upper wall 34 comprises a through opening of complementary shape of the push button 27. In the mounting position, the push button 27 is housed in this opening and can pass through the latter so as to project on the upper face of the wall 34. Mounting the push button 27 in the opening is by simple engagement or interlocking, preferably by snap elastic.
L is defined as the width or lateral dimension of the end piece 28, this (external) width L being measured between the walls 32a, 32b and more exactly between the outer faces thereof. The internal width L 'is measured between the inner faces of the walls 32a, 32b. Any width is measured in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis A and parallel to the wall 34. These parameters L and L ', as well as other parameters used in the rest of the description, are not necessarily represented in the drawings. .
The end piece 28 'of FIGS. 3, 4 and 6 has an elongate shape whose axis of elongation A is generally substantially parallel to the axis of elongation or longitudinal axis of the blade 12.
The end piece 28 'comprises at least one side wall 32a' which is integral with a cylindrical rod 33 having a transverse orientation. The rod 33 defines or extends along the hinge axis Y.
The rod 33 comprises at its longitudinal end connected to the wall 32a 'an annular shoulder, here cylindrical 33a.
The end piece 28 'also comprises an extension or L-shaped lateral leg 35. This lug 35 comprises a first portion 35a substantially parallel to the rod 33 and extending with this rod on the same side of the wall 32a'. The tab 35 has an elongate shape, a longitudinal end is connected to an upper longitudinal edge of the wall 32a 'and the opposite longitudinal end is connected to a second portion 35b or a flange substantially perpendicular to the first portion.
The flange 35b extends substantially facing the side wall 32a 'and is located at a transverse distance H of this wall. This distance H is measured between the lateral faces opposite the flange 35b and the wall 32a '. The distance H is measured along the Y axis. The closest distance between the flange 35b and the rod 33, measured in the plane of said flange 35b, is denoted by B. H is, preferably slightly, greater than L.
According to a first embodiment of the invention shown in Figures 1 to 6, the adapter 26 is of the "universal" type and is intended to be mounted indifferently on one or other of the end pieces 28, 28 ' . The adapter 26 is generally elongated along the axis A '. It comprises a body having two side walls 42a, 42b substantially parallel to each other and to the axis A ', and at a distance from one another. These walls 42a, 42b are interconnected at their upper ends by an upper transverse wall 44 substantially perpendicular to the walls 42a, 42b. The walls 42a, 42b, 44 here have an elongated shape in the longitudinal direction.
The walls 42a, 42b, 44 of the adapter 26 define between them a longitudinal space 45 in which is intended to be mounted a portion of the connector 24.
The walls 42a, 42b here are of the double skin type and each comprise two skins, respectively internal and external, parallel and at a transverse distance from each other. The skins are connected together by transverse rectilinear ribs.
The body of the adapter 26 is connected at a first of its longitudinal ends to a fairing or cowling, also called cap or head 46. This head 46 has a lateral dimension greater than that of the body of the adapter and a height also greater to that of the body. The lateral walls 42a, 42b of the body of the adapter are thus recessed or offset with respect to lateral (external) faces 46a of the head, and its upper wall 44 is recessed or offset relative to an upper (outer) face. ) 46b of the head.
The lateral faces 46a of the head 46 are connected to the lateral walls 42a, 42b of the body by lateral rear faces 48a, respectively, which extend substantially perpendicular to the axis A '. The upper face 46c of the cap 46 is connected to the upper wall 44 of the body by another upper rear face 48b which also extends substantially perpendicular to the axis A '.
The rear faces 48a, 48b of the head 46 form bearing faces of the outer end or front of the end piece 28. More precisely, in the mounted position of the adapter in the end piece 28, the free edges before the side walls of the end piece are intended to bear on the faces 48a, and the free edge before the transverse wall of the end piece is intended to bear on the face 48b.
The upper wall 44 of the body of the adapter 26 comprises at least one surface 44a substantially parallel to the axis A 'this surface is intended to cooperate by bearing and / or sliding with the upper transverse wall 34 of the end piece 28 of the figure 19.
The upper wall 44 of the body of the adapter 26 comprises, substantially in the middle, a window 49 or recesses. The upper wall 44 comprises at its longitudinal end opposite the head 46 longitudinal slots parallel to each other and to the axis A 'and spaced from each other, so as to define between them at least a portion of a longitudinal tongue 50 .
The tongue 50 extends longitudinally on the opposite side to the head 46, in the extension of the upper wall 44. It is elastically deformable and is connected to its outer free end or front to the aforementioned upper push button 27, which projects from the tongue 50. In the free state without constraint, each tongue 50 is such that the push button 27 is located above a plane passing through the upper wall 44. The elastic deformations of the tongues here take place in a longitudinal plane substantially vertical median, that is to say substantially perpendicular to the upper wall 44. The adapter 26 is thus equipped with an upper push button 27. In the example shown, it has a front face 27a inclined relative to the axis A '(here downwards from back to front) and a rear face 27b inclined relative to the axis A' (here upwards from back to front). The faces 27a, 27b form between them an angle greater than 180 °.
When mounting the adapter 26 in the end piece 28, the push button 27 is intended to engage resiliently snap into the opening of the end piece to lock the adapter vis-à-vis the end piece. The adapter 26 further comprises an upper orifice 51 for engaging a tab of an end piece of arm. This orifice 51 is here formed partly in the head 46, at the rear end thereof, and partly in the upper wall 44, at the front end thereof. The orifice 51 has a generally square or rectangular shape.
The lateral walls 42a, 42b of the body extend inwardly by longitudinal tabs 52a, 52b which are elastically deformable. Each wall 42a, 42b is connected to a tab 52a, 52b, these tabs 52a, 52b being substantially parallel and symmetrical with respect to a median longitudinal plane, substantially vertical, that is to say perpendicular to the upper wall 44 of the 'adapter. The free ends of the tabs 52a, 52b, which are located on the opposite side to the head 46, each carry a lateral push button 27 'projecting. Each tab 52a, 52b thus carries a push button 27 '. The elastic deformations of the tabs 52a, 52b here take place in a substantially horizontal longitudinal plane, that is to say substantially parallel to the upper wall 44. The tabs 52a, 52b can be brought closer to one another by deformation. elastic. The push buttons 27 'are shaped to cooperate with notches of the end piece 28 or another end piece not shown.
The side walls 42a, 42b each comprise a through orifice 56. The orifices 56 of the walls 42a, 42b are substantially coaxial and here define the axis Y of pivoting of the adapter 24 on the connector 24, and therefore of the brush vis-à-vis the arm. The orifices 56 are here circular in section and each comprise a substantially cylindrical inner surface 56a. The orifices 56 open at their outer lateral ends on the outer faces of the walls 42a, 42b, respectively, and at their inner lateral ends in the space 45.
The internal lateral faces facing the lateral walls 42a, 42b comprise protuberances 60. Each lateral wall 42a, 42b comprises a protuberance 60, the protuberances being here facing one another and extending substantially one towards the other. the other. The protuberances 60 are symmetrical with respect to a median longitudinal plane of the adapter, perpendicular to the upper wall 44. Each protrusion 60 also has a plane of symmetry passing through the axis Y and perpendicular to the axis A '.
Each protuberance 60 is perforated and comprises a through hole. This hole is here formed by one of the aforementioned orifices 56. Each protuberance 60 is thus located on the inner face of the side wall 42a or 42b so as to be traversed by the orifice 56 of this wall.
Each protuberance 60 has a generally cylindrical shape and here tubular due to the orifice 56 which passes through it. The axis of each orifice 56, which coincides with the axis Y, is also coincident with the axis of the corresponding cylindrical protuberance 60, so that the orifice is centered with respect to the protuberance. Each protuberance 60 thus forms an annular bead of material around the orifice 56, having substantially a radial thickness with respect to the substantially constant Y axis. Each protuberance 60 has an axial dimension along the Y axis that is about 10 to 20% of the axial dimension or width of the space 45 along the Y axis. Each protuberance 60 has an outer diameter which is about 60 to 80% of the height of the corresponding lateral wall 42a, 42b, measured in a direction substantially vertical and perpendicular to the upper wall 44.
Each protuberance 60 comprises a portion, here below, truncated or chamfered. Each truncated or chamfered portion defines a ramp 62 which extends in a plane inclined relative to the side walls 42a, 42b. Each ramp 62 defines at least one sliding surface, and here two, intended to cooperate with the connector 24. The ramps 62 of the protuberances 60 are inclined so that they move away from each other from the top to the low.
In the example shown, each ramp 62 has in section a substantially inverted V shape. As mentioned in the foregoing, it comprises two adjacent sliding surfaces inclined with respect to each other. The two surfaces 62a, 62b are here inclined relative to each other by an angle of between 190 and 330 °, and preferably between 200 and 240 °.
Ramp 62 is formed by a chamfer on an outer annular ridge of protuberance 60.
The ramps 62 and their surfaces are symmetrical with respect to a first median longitudinal plane perpendicular to the upper wall 44, as well as with respect to a second plane perpendicular to the first plane and the wall 44 and passing through the Y axis.
Each protrusion 60 further comprises two diametrically opposite outer flats. The adapter 26 is fixed to the connector 24 by means of the protuberances 60 which form means for fixing the adapter to the connector and which can furthermore form means for pivoting the adapter with respect to the connector. The fastening means are of the elastic snap-fastening type, the protuberances 60 of the adapter 26 being intended to cooperate by elastic snap-fastening with complementary means of the connector 24.
The connector 24 is arranged to be secured, for example by crimping, the blade 12. The connector 24 provides a so-called complete mechanical connection with the brush 12, in that there is no degree of freedom. The connector 24 can also provide a function for transporting and dispensing a washing liquid from the windshield of the vehicle.
With reference to Figures 3, 4 and 18, the connector 24 may comprise a base 70 which extends longitudinally and transversely. This base 70 comprises a zone of attachment to the blade 12, and more particularly to at least one vertebra of this blade. This securing zone takes for example the form of a groove formed in the base 70, this groove being bordered by two hooks adapted to engage the brush. The base 70 is surmounted by a flank 76, for example, made of material with the base. This flank 76 has a transverse dimension smaller than that of the base and a longitudinal dimension substantially equal to that of the base. The flank 76 is for example centered on the base 70, along the Y axis. The flank 76 may have a plurality of ribs which provide a mechanical reinforcement of the sidewall. The flank has a width or dimension along the Y axis, which is less than L '.
The connector 24 and the adapter 26 are mechanically connected by a pivot connection. As regards the connector 24, this pivot connection is implemented by an orifice 80 made in the sidewall 76. This orifice 80 extends along the axis Y. It passes through the sidewall 76. In other words, port 80 has a central axis centered on the Y axis.
The connector 24 described above is advantageously unitary, that is to say constituted by the same synthetic material. This connector can thus be manufactured during a single molding operation, in particular by injection. The adapter 26 is mounted on the connector 24 by elastic snapping of its protuberances 60 in the port 80 of the connector. The ramps 62 of the protuberances 60 of the adapter 26 cooperate with the connector to facilitate this mounting. For its part, the connector may also comprise means facilitating insertion of the protuberances 60 of the adapter 26 into its cavity 10.
The lateral walls 42a, 42b of the body of the adapter 26 further comprise, on their external lateral faces, projecting ribs 54a, 54b which define bearing faces in transverse direction. At least some of these protruding ribs 54a are located at the orifices 56, and are traversed by these orifices in the example shown. The ribs 54a here have a width or longitudinal dimension along the axis A ', which is greater than the diameter of the orifice 56 which passes through it. The orifice 56 is substantially located in the middle of this rib, in the longitudinal direction, so that the orifice 56 does not protrude from the rib 54a. In other words, the rib 54a extends around the entire periphery of the corresponding orifice 56.
The ribs 54a traversed by the orifices 56 have a width greater than that of the other ribs 54b.
The ribs 54a, 54b are here formed by thin strips of material in a transverse direction on the outer lateral faces of the side walls 42a, 42b. The ribs have an elongate shape and extend longitudinally between the lower and upper longitudinal edges of the walls 42a, 42b.
The ribs 54a, 54b define substantially parallel bearing faces. These bearing faces are here substantially parallel to the outer lateral faces of the walls 42a, 42b and to the longitudinal axis of the adapter 26. The dimension L is measured between these bearing faces.
The ribs 54a, 54b are spaced longitudinally from each other and distributed on the side walls 42a, 42b in the same direction. In the example shown, each side wall comprises four ribs 54a, 54b. The ribs of one of the side walls are symmetrical with respect to the ribs of the other of the side walls, with respect to a median longitudinal plane of the adapter substantially perpendicular to its upper wall 44.
The median transverse plane perpendicular to the upper wall 44 of the adapter 26 and passing through the Y axis passes through the ribs 54a substantially in their middle and is a plane of symmetry of these ribs. In other words, the ribs 54a are substantially centered on the Y axis and the orifices 56.
The ribs 54a, 54b can cooperate by sliding with the inner faces of the side walls 32a, 32b of the end piece 28. When the adapter 26 is engaged in the end piece 28, by axial translation, from front to rear , along the axis A, the walls 32a, 32b of the end piece 28 extend on either side of the body of the adapter and are flush with its side walls 42a, 42b, or are in contact with them. this. The hooks of the end piece fit under the body of the adapter to hold it in the end piece 28. Finally, the end piece 28 is supported by its front edges on the faces 48a, 48b of the cowling 46, and the push button 27 is engaged in the opening 38 of the end piece. In the mounted position, the axes A and A 'are substantially merged.
The rib 54a of one of the walls 32a ', 32b' of the adapter 26 'is intended to cooperate by sliding with the shoulder of the rod 33a and at least one of the ribs 54b of the other wall of the adapter is intended to cooperate by sliding with the rim 35b of the tab 35 of the adapter. In the example shown, the shoulder 33a cooperates with the rib 54a of the wall 42a and the flange 35b cooperates with the rib 54b furthest forward of the wall 42b.
The arm 14 'is mounted on the adapter 26 in the following manner. The end piece 28 'is disposed on the side of the adapter 26 and the cylindrical rod 33 is aligned with the orifices 56 of the adapter 26. The end piece is moved towards the adapter by translation along the Y axis , the end piece being oriented around the Y axis vis-à-vis the adapter so that its rim 35b passes over the upper wall 44 of the body. This is allowed by the distance B above. This translation is performed until the shoulder 33a bears laterally on the rib 54a of the wall 42a. The arm 14 'is then rotated about the Y axis with respect to the adapter 26, until the flange 35b slidably engages the front rib 54b of the wall 42b, as is 3, 4 and 6. In the mounted position, the axes A and A 'are parallel and distant from each other.
The body of the adapter comprises on its upper wall 44 a recess 55 which extends substantially transversely between the side walls 42a, 42b. This recess 55 extends near a transverse plane P perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A 'of the adapter and passing substantially through the orifices 56.
The recess 55 is configured to receive a portion of the end piece 28 'and in particular the first portion 35a of its tab 35, as shown in the drawings.
In the example shown, the rod 33 of the end piece 28 'is located in front of its lug 35. The recess 55 of the adapter is here located at the front of the adapter, just behind its head. .
It will be understood therefore, as shown in the drawings, that the adapter will have to be in the opposite position (its forward end facing the rear of the arm and its rear end facing the front of the arm), so that that, once the rod 33 of the arm engaged in the orifices 56 of the adapter, the lug 35 of the arm and in particular its first portion 35a can engage in the recess 55 of the adapter.
The recess 55 comprises a bottom wall, substantially parallel to the axis A ', which defines at least one bearing surface 55a of the portion 35a.
The recess 55 allows the end piece 28 'and the arm to adopt a position in which they are substantially parallel to the adapter 26. This is particularly advantageous for optimizing the sweeping of the blade on a vehicle window, and thus ensure that the entire broom is supported and this homogeneously on this window.
The surface 55a of the recess is here inclined with respect to the wall 44 and thus the axis A '. In the example shown, it extends downward from the rear to the front of the adapter. The angle of inclination is for example between 10 and 40 °.
The surface 55a is connected to the face 48b and to the upper orifice 51. It is connected to the upper ends of two adjacent front ribs 54a on each of the side walls 42a, 42b.
Advantageously, the adapter 26 could comprise rotational locking means intended to cooperate, for example by resilient snapping, with the end piece 28, to fasten them in rotation. The locking means could be configured to hold the portion 35a of the end piece in the recess and could be located on a longitudinal end of the surface 55a, on the face 48b, on the face 46b, etc. The adapter 26 described above is advantageously unitary, that is to say constituted by the same synthetic material. It can thus be manufactured during a single molding operation, in particular by injection.
FIGS. 7 to 12 show an alternative embodiment of the invention in which the adapter 126 is of the "universal" type and is intended to be mounted indifferently on a terminal piece 28 'with lateral locking or an end piece 28 with a cross section. U.
The foregoing description in connection with the adapter 26 and its mounting and its interactions with the brush and the arm are applicable to the adapter 126 to the extent that it does not contradict the following.
Unlike the adapter 26, the adapter 126 is intended to be mounted with respect to the end piece 28 'so that its front end is oriented towards the front of the end piece. Thus, the adapter 126 includes a recess 155 which is not provided near the forward end of the adapter, but near its rear end.
The recess 155 is located on the upper wall of the body of the adapter and extends transversely substantially between the side walls 142a, 142b of this body. This recess 155 extends near and behind a transverse plane P perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A 'of the adapter and passing substantially through the orifices 156.
The recess 155 is configured to receive a portion of the end piece 28 'and in particular the first portion 35a of its tab 35 as described above.
In the example shown, the recess 155 is located at the button 127 and more exactly below it. The recess 155 includes a through lumen 155a through which the button can be moved by elastic deformation of the tongue.
The recess 155 is defined in particular by two upper rear longitudinal edges of the walls 142a, 142b, which extend on either side of the light 155a. These edges define bearing surfaces 155b. These surfaces 155b are coplanar, whose plane is substantially parallel to the Y axis. This plane is inclined relative to the upper wall 144 of the adapter, upwards from front to back. The angle of inclination is for example between 10 and 40 °.
The surfaces 155b are connected to the upper end of the rearmost rib 154b of each wall 142a, 142b of the adapter.
The recess 155 is defined at the front by a rear edge of the upper wall 144 and at the rear by a front face 170a of a fastening element 170.
This element 170 is configured to cooperate by snap elastically with the tab 35 of the end piece. The element 170 comprises a hook 170b at the upper edge of its front face 170a.
This hook extends substantially over the entire transverse dimension of the element and is intended to cooperate with the rear edge of the second portion 35b of the tab, as shown in FIGS. 9 to 11. The attachment of the end piece 28 'on the adapter makes it possible to secure it in rotation about the Y axis vis-à-vis the adapter, and thus to make sure that the pivoting of the adapter towards the connector is translated by the pivoting of the arm vis-à-vis the connector and therefore the brush attached to the connector. The hook 170b thus forms rotational locking means.
The arm 14 'is mounted on the adapter 126 as follows. The end piece 28 'is disposed on the side of the adapter 126 and the cylindrical rod 33 is aligned with the orifices 156 of the adapter 126. The end piece is moved towards the adapter by translation along the Y axis. , the end piece being oriented around the Y axis vis-à-vis the adapter so that its rim 35b passes over the upper wall 144 of the body. This translation is performed until the shoulder of the rod comes into lateral support on the rib 154a of the wall 142b. The arm 14 'is then rotated about the Y axis with respect to the adapter 126, until the flange 35b slidably engages the rear rib 154b of the wall 142a, as is 9 to 11. During this movement, the tab 35 is supported by its portion 35a on the button 127 and forces it to bend down and to pass through the light 155a. The tongue 150 which connects the button 127 to the upper wall 144 is then elastically deformed and the button 127 assumes the position as shown in Figure 12. This movement is continued until the engagement of the tab 35 in the recess 155 and maintaining it in this position by cooperation with the hook 170b of the member 170. In this mounted position, the axes A and A 'are parallel and distant from each other.
FIGS. 13 to 18 show another variant embodiment of the invention in which the adapter 226 is of the "universal" type and is intended to be mounted indifferently on a terminal piece 28 'with lateral locking or a terminal piece 28 with a section in U.
The foregoing description in connection with the adapter 26 and its mounting and its interactions with the brush and the arm are applicable to the adapter 226 as long as it does not contradict the following.
Unlike the adapter 26, the adapter 226 is intended to be mounted with respect to the end piece 28 'so that its front end is oriented towards the front of the end piece. Thus, the adapter 226 includes a recess 255 which is not provided near the forward end of the adapter but in the vicinity of its rear end.
The recess 255 is located on the upper wall 244 of the body of the adapter and extends transversely substantially between the side walls 242a, 242b of this body. This recess 255 extends near and behind a transverse plane P perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A 'of the adapter and passing substantially through the orifices 256.
The recess 255 is configured to receive a portion of the end piece 28 'and in particular the first portion 35a of its tab 35 as described above.
In the example shown, the recess 255 is located at the button 227 and more exactly below it. The recess 255 includes a through hole 255a through which the button can be moved by elastic deformation of the tongue.
The recess 255 is defined in particular by two rear upper longitudinal edges of the walls 242a, 242b, which extend on either side of the light 255a. These edges define bearing surfaces 255b. These surfaces 255b are coplanar, whose plane is substantially parallel to the Y axis. This plane is inclined relative to the upper wall 244 of the adapter, upwards from front to back. The angle of inclination is for example between 10 and 40 °.
The surfaces 255b are connected to the upper end of the rearmost rib 254b of each wall 242a, 242b of the adapter.
The recess 255 is defined at the front by a rear edge of the upper wall 244 and at the rear by a front face 270a of a fastening element 270.
This element 270 is configured to cooperate by snap elastically with the tab 35 of the end piece. The element 170 comprises two lateral hooks 270b at the upper edge of its front face 270a. The hooks 270b are at a distance from each other.
These hooks 270b are intended to cooperate with the trailing edge of the second portion 35b of the tab, as shown in FIGS. 15 and 16. The attachment of the end piece 28 'on the adapter makes it possible to secure it in rotation around of the Y axis with respect to the adapter, and therefore to ensure that the pivoting of the adapter towards the connector results in the pivoting of the arm opposite the connector and therefore the brush attached to the connector. The hooks 270b thus form rotational locking means.
The arm 14 'is mounted on the adapter 226 as follows. The end piece 28 'is disposed on the side of the adapter 226 and the cylindrical rod 33 is aligned with the orifices 256 of the adapter 226. The end piece is moved towards the adapter by translation along the Y axis. , the end piece being oriented around the Y axis vis-à-vis the adapter so that its flange 35b passes over the upper wall 244 of the body. This translation is performed until the shoulder of the rod comes into lateral support on the rib 154a of the wall 242b. The arm 14 'is then rotated about the Y axis with respect to the adapter 226, until the flange 35b slidably engages the rear rib 254b of the wall 242a. During this movement, the tab 35 is supported by its portion 35a on the button 227 and forces it to bend down and to pass through the light 255a. The tongue 250 which connects the button 227 to the upper wall 244 is then elastically deformed and the button 227 assumes the position as shown in Figure 12. This movement is continued until the engagement of the tab 35 in the recess 255 and maintaining it in this position by cooperation with the hook 270b of the member 270. In this mounted position, the axes A and A 'are parallel and distant from each other.
Figure 18 shows the position of the button 227 vis-à-vis the connector 24 when the button is biased downwards by the end piece 28 'and that the tab 250 is bent. In this position, the button 227 is close to the connector 24 and in particular to its flank 76.
Advantageously, and as shown in this figure and in Figure 13, the button is shaped to not come into contact with the connector in this position. In the example shown, the button 227 comprises at least one edge 227c which is intended to be located on the side of the connector 24 and which is shaped to extend at least partially around the latter in the aforementioned position. This edge 227c has a concave curved shape.
In Figures 13 and 17, it is found that the button 227 comprises two side walls substantially parallel to the walls 242a, 242b. These walls are interconnected by an upper transverse wall in the form of dihedron and having the front faces 227a and rear 227b inclined above. The lower ends of these side walls form the edges 227c. In the deformed position shown in FIG. 18, the edges 227c have a curved shape substantially around the Y axis.
