The present invention relates to a device for locking two parts relative to each other. Although not exclusively, it is particularly suitable for implementation in the space domain and will be explained below in connection with this particular area.
It is known that satellites and space vehicles may have large structures, such as radio or optical reflectors. To be carried by the launchers, these structures must be designed in several parts foldable to reduce the volume to a value compatible with the volume available on board said launchers, these folding parts being then deployed and secured to each other after dropping out of said launchers , to reform said structures.
However, as a result of the large dimensions and the great flexibility of these structures and the kinematic inaccuracies of the deployment devices of said folding parts, it is often difficult, if not impossible, to reconstruct the structures, from said folding parts, with excellent geometric precision. The object of the present invention is to overcome this disadvantage. To this end, according to the present invention, the locking device of two parts (or two parts of a structure) relative to each other, comprising: a first part fixed to one of said parts and having a convergent male element; and a second part fixed to the other of said parts and comprising a diverging female element, of a shape complementary to that of said convergent male element, is remarkable in that said second part further comprises: a housing, in communication with said element female diverge through the small section of the latter; A movable body, disposed inside said housing and able to take: o either an armed waiting position in which said movable body is held in said housing by a controllable locking device, o is a locking position in which said male element is locked in said female element, said movable body spontaneously passing from said armed waiting position to said locking position by inhibiting the action of said locking device by said convergent male element when it is introduced into said element divergent female; and a plurality of resilient gripping lamellae integral with said movable body and provided with a hook at their free end opposite the latter, said attachment lamellae extending into said diverging female element while moving away from each other. one of the other to form, for said convergent male element, a flared, elastically deformable receptacle inside said divergent female element, and o performing, during the passage of said movable body from the armed waiting position to the locking position and using said hooks, first capturing and pulling said convergent male element, then, when said movable body is in the locking position, firmly holding said male element converge against said divergent female element.
Thus, thanks to the present invention, at the end of the locking of the two parts, which may be two parts of a structure, they are locked in a desired precise geometric position, thanks to the capture, guidance and maintenance in position made by said elastic strips, acting in cooperation with said male and female elements.
Preferably, in order to ensure excellent guidance and excellent retention of the convergent male element by the diverging female element, it is advantageous that said attachment strips are housed in grooves in the inner wall of said divergent female element, said grooves guiding said slidable slats when said movable body passes from said armed waiting position to said locking position.
In addition, in the locking position, said elastic strips are retracted into said grooves, so that the outer wall of the convergent male element is in direct contact with the inner wall of the diverging female element, which ensures a firm hold between said elements.
Preferably, said convergent male element comprises a transverse base for hooking the hooks of the attachment slats. Advantageously, this transverse base comprises an acute peripheral edge to facilitate the hooking of the hooks of said elastic strips.
Said convergent male element and said divergent female element may be of conical shape. However, in an embodiment prohibiting any rotation between said male and female elements after locking, they may have a pyramidal shape.
Advantageously, in the armed standby position, said movable body is loaded by at least one spring, whose trigger is under the control of said controllable locking device. The latter may comprise at least one locking pin which blocks said movable body in said casing and a detent slide is provided for controlling said locking finger, said detent slide being slidably mounted in a limited manner in said movable body and being accessible said male element converge inside said divergent female element.
Optionally, at least one spring bearing on said movable body can press said expansion slider towards said divergent female element.
In an advantageous embodiment, said locking finger can be disposed transversely to said trigger slide and rest on the latter which then has a cam profile. Thus, thanks to such an arrangement, said locking finger can, for a given position of the expansion slide, move radially by terminating the locking between said housing and said movable body and allowing the latter to move from the position of armed waiting at the lock position.
A device for adjusting the pressing pressure of said locking finger on said trigger slide can be provided.
Preferably, the locking device according to the present invention is configured to be able to move from said locking position to said armed waiting position by simply voluntary action on said movable body, inside the latter. For this purpose, it is advantageous that, on the opposite side to said diverging female element, said housing is open or opening to allow access to said movable body.
The present invention further relates to a structure having at least two parts and at least one locking device, as described above, for locking said parts together.
The figures of the appended drawing will make it clear how the invention can be realized. In these figures, identical references designate similar elements.
Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of an embodiment of the locking device according to the present invention.
Figure 2 illustrates, in longitudinal section, the locking device of Figure 1 in the armed standby position.
Figure 3 illustrates, in longitudinal section, the locking device of Figures 1 and 2 just before the passage of said armed waiting position to the locking position.
Figure 4 illustrates, in longitudinal section, the locking device of Figures 1 to 3 in the locking position.
FIG. 5 is an end view, on the side of the convergent male element, of the locking device in the locking position of FIG.
The locking device, according to the present invention and shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, comprises a first part I, fixed to a part P1 (shown schematically only in FIG. 2) and provided with a convergent male element 1 , such as a cone or a pyramid, and a second part II, fixed to a piece P2 (also shown schematically only in FIG. 2) and provided with a diverging female element 2 of axis XX, of complementary shape that of said male element 1. The parts P1 and P2 may be two parts of the same structure.
The second part II of the locking device according to the invention further comprises a housing 3, also of axis XX, integral with said female element 2 and in communication with it, through the small section 4 of the latter, as well as a movable body 5, disposed inside said housing 3, coaxially with the axis XX, and being able to slide therein in the manner of a piston, under the action or against the action of springs 6 ( for example three in number, regularly distributed around the axis XX of the housing 3) bearing on said housing 3.
Said movable body 5 carries a plurality of resilient securing slats 7 which are integral therewith and which are provided with a hook 8 at their free end opposite said movable body 5. The resilient gripping slats 7 are arranged in said female element 2 apart from each other, being housed in grooves 9 of the inner wall 2i of said female member 2. The elastic attachment slats 7 can be three in number and be evenly distributed around the XX axis of the housing 3 and the female element 2.
The second part II of the locking device further comprises a controllable locking device of said movable body 5. This locking device comprises, for example, three radial locking fingers 10 regularly distributed around the axis XX, and able to slide radially relative to said movable body 5, each in a radial chimney 11 of the housing 3, thanks to a bearing 12 which is disposed therein.
The radial locking fingers 10 rest radially on a cam-shaped expansion slider 13 with a large-diameter portion 13.1 and a small-diameter portion 13.2, passing through said movable body 5 and being able to slide axially therefrom through a bearing 14. The expansion slider 13 is elastically pressed, by a spring 15, towards the female element 2 and is retained in the movable body 5 by a stop 16 which it carries at the opposite end to said female element. At its end housed in said female element, the trigger slide 13 carries an enlarged key 17.
The bearing pressure of the radial locking fingers 10 on the expansion slide 13 can be adjusted by means of springs 18 which are housed in the chimneys 11 and whose force is adjusted by nuts 19 screwing into the latter. Sliders 20 may be interposed between the springs 18 and the locking fingers 10.
On the opposite side to the female element 2, the housing 3 comprises a wall 21 allowing access to the movable body 5 and the expansion slide 13. This wall 21 can be open, as shown in the figures, or could be opening. The male convergent element 1 comprises a fastening base 22 whose peripheral edge 23 is acute to facilitate the hooking by the hooks 8 of the elastic strips 7.
As shown in FIG. 2, in the armed stand-by position, the mobile body 5 is arranged in the housing 3 on the side of the female element 2 and is locked in this position by the radial locking fingers 10 straddling the housing 3 and the movable body 5. In addition, in this armed waiting position: the springs 6 are compressed between said housing 3 and said movable body 5, the locking fingers 10 bear elastically on the part 13.1 large diameter of the expansion slider 13, being pressed by the springs 18, - optionally, the expansion slider 13 is elastically pressed by the spring 15 to the female element 2, the key 17 protruding inside this last and the abutment 16 being in abutment against the movable body 5 to retain said expansion slide 13 in the latter, and - the elastic lamellae 7 extend in the female element 2, being housed in the grooves 9 of the wall inter 2i of the latter and forming a resiliently deformable flared receptacle.
Such an armed waiting position remains until the male element 1 comes into contact with the key 17 (see Figure 3).
When the male member 1 presses the key 17, it compresses the spring 15 and the trigger slide 13 moves away from the female member 2. During this movement, the trigger slide 13 scrolls relative to the locking fingers 10, so that the large diameter portion 13.1 of said trigger slider which was opposite said locking fingers 10 is removed therefrom and replaced by the small diameter portion 13.2 of said slider.
Under the action of the springs 18, said locking fingers 10 slide radially in the chimneys 11 to bear against said small diameter portion 13.2, which allows said locking fingers 10 to escape the housing 3. The movable body 5 is no longer blocked with respect to said housing 3 and it moves spontaneously inside thereof, opposite the female element 2, under the action of the expansion of the springs 6 to reach the locking position shown in Figures 4 and 5.
During the passage of the movable body 5 from the armed waiting position of FIG. 2 to the locking position of FIGS. 4 and 5, the elastic strips 7 integral with said movable body 5 slide, being guided, into the grooves 9 of the internal wall 2i of the female element 2 and, with their hooks 8, capture the acute edge 23 of the base 22 of the male element 1, pull it to said female element 2, then hold it firmly against the latter, when the locking position of Figures 4 and 5 is reached.
It will be readily understood that the locking device of the present invention is reversible, that is to say that it can be passed intentionally from the locking position to the armed waiting position by pressing said trigger slide 13 and said moving body 5 in the direction of the female element 2. Such a maneuver is performed during the initial arming of the device, before introduction of the male element 1 into the female element. It can also be operated after locking said male element 1, to release it, provided that said male element 1 does not oppose the sliding of the movable body 5 in its direction.

A device for locking two pieces (P1, P2) relative to each other, comprising: a first part (I), fixed to one of said pieces (P1) and comprising a convergent male element ( 1); and a second part (II), fixed to the other of said pieces (P2) and comprising a divergent female element (2), of a shape complementary to that of said convergent male element (1), characterized in that said second part (II) ) further comprises: • a housing (3), in communication with said divergent female element (2) through the small section (4) thereof; A movable body (5), disposed inside said housing (3) and able to take: o either an armed waiting position in which said movable body (5) is held in said housing (3) by means of a controllable blocking (10 to 12, 18 to 20), o being a locking position in which said male element (1) is locked in said female element (2), said movable body (5) spontaneously passing from said standby position armed at said locking position by inhibiting the action of said locking device by said convergent male element (1) when it is introduced into said divergent female element (2); and a plurality of resilient gripping lamellae (7) secured to said movable body (5) and provided with a hook (8) at their free end opposite the latter, said gripping lamellae (7): extending into said diverging female member (2) away from each other to form, for said convergent male member (1), a flared, resiliently deformable receptacle within said diverging female member (2). ), and o performing, during the passage of said movable body (5) from the armed waiting position to the locking position and with the aid of said hooks (8), first capture and traction of said convergent male element (1), then, when said movable body (5) is in the locking position, firmly holding said convergent male element (1) against said divergent female element (2).
