专利说明:
RETRACTABLE ARMREST FOR FRONT VEHICLE SEAT AUTOMOBILE Field of the invention The present invention relates to a retractable armrest intended to be mounted on the outer side of a front seat of a motor vehicle. It also aims a front seat of a motor vehicle equipped with such an armrest. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The interior trim of the front doors of motor vehicles generally comprises a prominent portion which forms an armrest for the forearm of the passengers. However, this armrest is in practice rarely used by the front passengers because of its distance from the seat and its arrangement too low that do not allow them to be able to support their forearm comfortably. These front passengers thus often tend to position the elbow of their forearm on the top of the door box also forming the lower edge of the frame of the window. This position requires that the window is fully lowered to provide a sufficient support surface to the forearm of the passenger. In addition, this rigid support surface and not initially provided for such use tends to become uncomfortable after a while. Retractable armrests are also known comprising a support member provided for receiving the elbow or forearm of the driver or passenger sitting on the seat, this support member being pivotally mounted on the seat back between a configuration in which it extends perpendicular to the backrest, and a retracted configuration in which it extends along a lateral side of the backrest so as to allow the entry or exit of the vehicle. This type of armrest can significantly improve the level of comfort offered to the driver or the front passenger when the folder occupies a substantially vertical position. However, the inclination of the support element varies with that of the backrest, it becomes unusable when the backrest is strongly inclined backwards or almost elongated (such a position may for example be adopted by the driver and his front passenger during a fully automated driving phase of the vehicle). Object and summary of the invention The present invention therefore aims to provide optimal support of the elbow or the forearm of the person sitting on the seat regardless of the inclination of his backrest. It proposes for this purpose a retractable armrest intended to be mounted on the outer side of a front seat of a motor vehicle and having a seat and a backrest pivotally mounted on said seat, said armrest comprising a support element provided for the reception of the elbow or forearm of the person sitting on said seat; characterized in that it comprises a support frame rigidly connected to said seat, said support member being hingedly mounted on said support frame between a service configuration in which it extends substantially horizontally above the level of said seat, and a retracted configuration in which it extends along said support frame so as to allow access to said seat or the exit of the vehicle. The support element of the armrest according to the invention being hinged to a frame connected to the seat cushion and not to its backrest, its orientation in service configuration remains the same regardless of the inclination of the backrest of this seat. seat. This armrest thus provides in all circumstances optimal support of the elbow or forearm, particularly when the backrest is tilted backwards to a maximum position in a relaxation position that can be adopted by the front passenger (or by the driver) when the driving of the vehicle is performed fully automatically by the driver assistance system. According to preferred features of said retractable armrest: - said armrest comprises motorized means adapted to cause the displacement of said support member between said service configurations and retracted; - said support member is automatically returned from said service configuration to said retracted configuration following actuation of the opening control of the side door of said vehicle located on the side of said seat; said support frame comprises a spar extending against and along the lateral side of said seat and an upright rooted at the rear of said spar, said support element comprising two front and rear sections connected end to end and hinged to rotation along a first transverse axis, said front section extending in said configuration retracted along said spar while said rear section extends along said upright, said front and rear sections being aligned horizontally above the level of said seat in said service configuration; said armrest comprises a link rod whose first end is pivotally mounted about a second transverse axis on the front end of said spar, while its second end is pivotally mounted about a third transverse axis on the central zone; said front section; said rear section is pivotally mounted about a fourth transverse axis on the upper end of said upright; - said armrest comprises a locking device adapted to block the pivotally articulation along said fourth transverse axis between the upper end of said upright and said rear section when said support member occupies said service configuration; said support element integrates a control module of at least one electrical equipment of said vehicle; and / or - said control module is slidably mounted along said support element. The invention also aims in a second aspect, a front seat of a motor vehicle comprising such an armrest. Brief description of the drawings The description of the invention will now be continued by the detailed description of an exemplary embodiment, given below by way of illustration but without limitation, with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. a view of the external lateral side of a front seat of a motor vehicle equipped with an armrest according to the invention: the seat backrest being in the raised position while the support element of the armrest occupies its retracted configuration; - Figure 2 is a view similar to Figure 1 but on which the support element of the armrest occupies its service configuration; and - Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 1 but on which the backrest is inclined to the maximum rearward while the support element of the armrest occupies its service configuration. Detailed description of a preferred embodiment In the following description and by convention, the terms "front", "back", "down" and "high" will be defined in relation to the usual orientation of a seat mounted in a motor vehicle. The seat 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 is a driver seat intended to be mounted in the front part of the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle equipped with a driving assistance system able to completely unload this driver in heavy traffic or traffic jams on separate roads, so that the latter is no longer required to keep his eyes fixed on the road and can relax by going to other occupations than driving. The seat 1 comprises a seat 2 whose frame 3 is slidably mounted on the floor of the vehicle via slides 4 and a backrest 5 whose frame can pivot about a transverse axis located at the rear of the vehicle. the seat 2 between a raised position adapted to the pipe (Figures 1 and 2) and a position of maximum inclination to the rear adapted to the relaxation during a fully automated driving phase (Figure 3). A footrest 6 is also mounted articulated on the frame 3 of the seat 2 between a retracted position in which it is housed under the front part of the lining of this seat 2 (FIGS. 1 and 2), and a position deployed in which it projects in front of this seat 2 in its extension (Figure 3). According to the invention, an armrest 10 illustrated in Figures 1 to 3, is mounted on the outer side of the seat 1 near the front left access door of the vehicle. This armrest 10 comprises a metal support frame 20 rigidly connected to the frame 3 of the seat 2 and a support element 30 intended to receive the elbow or the forearm of the person sitting on the seat 1, this element of support 30 being hingedly mounted on the support frame 20 between a service configuration in which it extends substantially horizontally above the level of the seat 2, and a retracted configuration in which it extends along the support frame 20 of so as to allow access to the seat 1 or the exit of the vehicle. The armrest 10 also comprises two metal link rods 40, 41, motorized means (not visible) able to cause the displacement of the support element 30 between the service configurations and retracted, and a device locking (not visible) of this support member 30 in the service configuration. The support element 30 comprises two front and rear sections 32 32 connected end-to-end and rotatably articulated along a first transverse axis A. Each section 32, 36 comprises a metal frame (not visible) wrapped with a packing conventionally constituted by a foam padding covered with a fabric or leather cap. As illustrated in the figures, the rear end of the lining of the front section 32 of the support member 30 has a convex profile corresponding to that concave of the front end of the lining of its rear portion 36. The first hinge link 40, rigidly connected to the frame of the rear section 36, extends along the outer face of the lining of the rear section 36 projecting from the front of the latter. The two sections 32, 36 of the support element 30 are rotatably articulated around the transverse axis A via the projecting front end of this first link 40 which is pivotally mounted about the transverse axis. A on the frame of the front section 32, near the rear end of this frame. The support frame 20, preferably obtained by cutting from a metal sheet, has an L shape and extends vertically close to the outer side of the seat 1. It comprises a spar 21 extending against and along the outer lateral side of the frame 3 of the seat 2 and an upright 23, rooted at the rear of the spar 21 and which extends vertically inwards. bowing backwards. The spar 21 is welded directly to the outer lateral edge of the frame of the seat 2 or on the upper rail of the outer guide 4 secured to this frame 3. The slightly raised front end of the spar 21 is connected in a manner articulated to the central zone of the front section 32 of the support element 30 via the second articulation link 41. More specifically, a first end of this rod 41 is pivotally mounted about a second transverse axis B on the front end of the spar 21 of the support frame 20, while its second end is pivotally mounted about a third transverse axis C on the central zone of the armature of the front section 32. The upper end of the upright 23 is articulated to rotate with the rear section 36 of the support element 30 via the rear end of the first link 40 which is pivotally mounted about a fourth transverse axis D on this upper end of the upright 23. The motorized means comprise an electric motor not shown in the figures and adapted to rotate the first link 40 about the second axis of transverse articulation B. To do this, this first link 40 comprises for example a circular tooth sector having the hinge axis B as a center of curvature and which is engrained on a pinion mounted on the motor shaft. The locking device comprises an electrically-controlled lock capable of blocking the pivoting articulation along the fourth transverse axis D between the upper end of the upright 23 of the frame 20 and the rear section 36 of the support element 30 when this last occupies its service configuration. This device also comprises means for manually disengaging the lock in case of power failure. Preferably, the front section 32 of the support element 30 integrates a control module of one or more electrical equipment of the vehicle. This module makes it possible for example to control the kinematics of the armrest 10, to cause the opening or closing of the opening of the vehicle, to adjust the opening level of the windows, the orientation of the mirrors or even the configuration of the seat (seat height, seat tilt, etc.). In the case where the armrest 10 is designed to be mounted on the driver's seat, it can be provided that this control module also makes it possible to control the system for assisting the driving of the vehicle (selection of the activated assistance mode and modification certain parameters such as the set speed or the distance between the vehicle and the preceding vehicle). This control module is advantageously slidably mounted along this front section 32, its movement being managed automatically via motorized electrical means according to the inclination of the backrest 5 and so as to remain easily accessible for the driver's hand. whatever this inclination 5. We will now briefly describe the operation of the armrest 10. In the retracted configuration of the support element 30 illustrated in FIG. 1, the front section 32 of this support element 30 extends below the level of the seat 2 along the spar 21 of the support frame 20 while that the rear portion 36 extends along the upright 23 of the support frame 20, so as to allow the driver (or the front passenger) to access the seat 1 or to get out of the vehicle. When the person sitting on the seat 1 wishes to use the armrest 10, it suffices to press a control button located on the control module integrated in the front section 32 of the support element 30 to drive via the means motorized pivoting forward of the first link 40 about the second axis of articulation B. This pivoting of the rod 40 which causes the upward extension of the front section 32 of the support element 30 and the rotation of its rear section 36 around the fourth transverse axis D, continues until these two sections 32, 36 are aligned horizontally: the support element 30 then occupies its service configuration illustrated by Figures 2 and 3. At this time, the locking device automatically blocks the articulation along the fourth axis transverse D to prevent inadvertent return of this support member 30 in its retracted configuration in case of power failure of the vehicle. In this service configuration, it will be noted that the support element 30 remains horizontal regardless of the inclination of the backrest 5 (see FIGS. 2 and 3). This is particularly the case when the backrest 5 is inclined at the rearmost position (FIG. 3) in a relaxation position that can be adopted by the front passenger (or by the driver) when the driving of the vehicle is ensured in a controlled manner. fully automated by the driver assistance system. In order to provide optimum comfort, the dimensions of the support element 30 are provided sufficiently large to allow the user to rest the entirety of his forearm when the backrest occupies this position of relaxation. The total length of this support element 30 will thus preferably be greater than 600 mm, while its width will advantageously be greater than 60 mm. If desired, the person sitting on the seat 1 can bring back at any time the support member 30 in retracted configuration. To do this, it suffices to press a second control button also located on the control module integrated in the front section 32 of the support element 30 to cause the unlocking of the joint along the fourth transverse axis D then the motorized pivoting rearward of the first link 40 about the second axis of articulation B. Advantageously, this return in retracted configuration is done automatically when the person sitting on the seat 1 actuates the opening command of the side door located on the side of this seat 1. In case of power failure of the vehicle while the support element 30 occupies its operating configuration, the manual disengagement means allow the user to unlock the joint along the fourth transverse axis D to cause the gravity return of this support member 30 in retracted configuration. According to non-illustrated embodiments of the invention, the support element consists of a single section mounted to pivot about the fourth transverse axis D and extending in its retracted configuration along the upright 23 of the support frame 20. This configuration, simpler and economical to manufacture, however, significantly reduces the length of the support element and therefore does not offer the user the same level of comfort. Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown, but encompasses any embodiment within the scope of the skilled person.
