VALVE ANTI-RETURN WATERPROOF
The present invention relates to a valve equipping the non-return pump of an airless distribution system also called "airless", that is to say without air intake so that the product distributed is never in contact with the air before its distribution. This type of airless distribution system is used for the distribution of products that are likely to deteriorate in contact with the air. It may be, for example, pharmaceutical products, cosmetic products such as care creams of fluid consistency, that is to say liquid or pasty. As we want to remove preservatives in creams, it is necessary to protect them from the air. The fluid product is therefore packaged in a retractable container so that the volume of the container corresponds precisely at any moment of use to the residual amount of the product it contains, the product never being in contact with the air at the inside of the container.
Typically, the dispenser comprises a pump equipped with an inlet valve and an outlet valve. It is sealingly connected to the container and it has at the outlet of the pump a discharge channel opening on an orifice, the pump being actuated by a push button. The tightness of the valves fitted to the pump is essential to allow the pump to function properly and to ensure the airtightness of the distribution system. To meet this objective, the valves of the pumps usually consist of complex elements incorporating balls or valves, both mobile, guides, spring-type support means, opening stops and closing, etc. These complex systems ensure the tightness of the valve when it is in the closed position and more particularly when the dispensing system is at rest. The dispensing system is at rest when the pressures inside the container and inside the pump and the atmospheric pressure are identical. The inlet and outlet valves of the pump are then closed and airtight. On the other hand, more and more creams are water-based emulsions and the containers in which the cream is packaged are by definition sealed. The water of these emulsions tends to turn into water vapor as soon as it is enclosed in a closed container and the temperature is above 0 ° C. The passage from the liquid phase to the gaseous phase of the water creates an overpressure in the container. It is essential, when the pump is at rest, that the valves are sealed despite the overpressure of the interior of the container relative to the atmospheric pressure.
The traditional pumps that equip the airless distribution systems are therefore generally complex, sometimes fragile, and composed of a large number of parts, which complicates the manufacture and increases the cost, especially since these components are generally miniaturized .
The complexity of the traditional valves comes from the fact that they implement movable valves and that they guarantee a good sealing when they are closed.
While there are fixed valves, easier to implement than movable valves, but these valves are never used in airless distribution systems because they do not guarantee airtightness when the system is at rest , mainly because of the absence of support or the poor support on each other of the constituent parts of the valve ensuring its closure. This critical defect is further amplified due to the overpressure inside the container relative to the atmospheric pressure. The object of the invention is to provide a valve for a non-return pump which is both reliable, simple and inexpensive to manufacture, this valve being perfectly airtight in the closed position.
The valve according to the invention consists of a rigid wall and a valve, it is characterized in that: said valve has a flexible and deformable peripheral area not perforated, located vis-à-vis the wall rigid, - the rigid wall is pierced by at least one orifice located vis-à-vis the peripheral zone, - the valve is in the closed position when the peripheral zone of the valve is in contact with the rigid wall on all of its perimeter and in the open position when the peripheral zone of the valve is distant from the rigid wall on at least a part of its perimeter. The valve, and the rigid wall constitute a sealed assembly when the peripheral zone is in contact on its entire perimeter with the rigid wall, - the valve is connected to the rigid wall by a fixed non-deformable connection, - the valve goes from the closed position at the open position by deformation of the peripheral zone of the valve, - all the points of the peripheral zone in contact with the rigid wall bear on said rigid wall, said support being obtained by elastic deformation of said peripheral zone, said deformation resulting from the assembly of the valve and the rigid wall.
The valve is the only area of passage of the product between the container and the pump or between the pump and the outside. The combination of the perforated rigid wall with the flexible wall closing the orifice of the rigid wall by elastic deformation of the flexible wall makes it possible to have a precise, resistant and flexible sealing. Indeed, the flexible wall is supported, that is to say compressed on the rigid wall.
The dispensing system and the container delimit three spaces, the container, the pump and the outside. These three spaces are isolated from each other by the impervious barriers that constitute the inlet valve and the outlet valve of the pump. The container is a space located upstream of the pump, the pump is a space located upstream from the outside, with respect to the direction of flow of the product. The valve according to the invention is perfectly closed and sealed when the pressures in the container, in the pump and outside are approximately identical. Moreover, one or the other of the valves of the invention remains closed and sealed as long as the overpressure in an upstream space with respect to the downstream space which is contiguous thereto, is less than a threshold previously fixed at choice. of the user industry.
For example, the valve remains closed and sealed when the overpressure in the upstream space is less than 40 millibars, preferably less than 100 to 200 millibars, that of the downstream space which is contiguous thereto. Beyond this minimum overpressure, the flexible wall of the valve is deformed. The valve is then in the open position and releases the passage from the upstream space to the downstream space.
The value of the overpressure in the upstream space to open the valve may be modulated depending on the nature of the polymer, the thickness of the wall of the peripheral zone, and the diameter of the valve. The rigid wall may have several orifices. The system is sealed after 60 days in an oven at 55 ° C.
Advantageously, the peripheral zone of the valve has a substantially conical shape before assembly, with a large base and a small base, and an inner face of the inner side of the cone. In the assembled position, said peripheral zone has a deformation following the bearing of the inner face of the large base on the rigid wall. The flexible wall has a flattened area on the side of said large base, constituting the area of contact with the rigid wall. The valve fixing area is located in the center of said valve, in the axial plane of revolution of the substantially conical shape. The fixing zone may, for example, be a hollow tube integral with the flexible wall which hollow tube will be fitted on a rod connected to the rigid wall to obtain a sealed assembly. Before deformation, the peripheral zone therefore has a substantially truncated cone shape. For example, the small base has a diameter of 3.34 mm, the large base has a diameter of 5.67 mm, the wall forming an angle of 45 ° with the axis of revolution of said truncated cone and having a thickness of 0.50 mm. After deformation, the peripheral zone is compressed in the form of a "crushed" truncated cone, the outer diameter of the ring going from 5.67 mm to about 6.20 mm, an elongation of the material of the order of 9 %. This elongation results from the support of the flexible wall on its large base on the side of its inner face. This elongation induces a considerable support force, much greater than a non-elastic deformation, which ensures the seal "at rest" and the overpressure of the upstream space.
Advantageously, the valve is connected to the rigid wall by a fixing means disposed within the peripheral zone. The fixed connection between the rigid wall and the valve being located in the central portion of the valve, the surface of the deformable zone is strictly homogeneous, which ensures the homogeneity of the support at any point equidistant from the center of the valve.
Advantageously, the valve is circular and the annular peripheral zone. This form is the easiest to achieve. The valve may have a different shape.
Advantageously, the fastening means consists of a rod or a hollow cylinder fixedly connected to the rigid wall and a chimney disposed in the center of the valve, the chimney being fitted on the rod or the hollow cylinder. The material of the chimney and the assembly system retained guarantee the sealing of the fastening means. The assembly thus produced can withstand an upstream pressure higher than 6 bars.
Advantageously, the rod or the hollow cylinder and the rigid wall are part of a single piece. The number of parts necessary for the realization of the pump is thus reduced.
Advantageously, the valve is made of elastic polymer with shape memory. The deformation of the polymer causes a prestress in the peripheral zone of the valve which maintains it bears on the rigid wall when it is in the closed position. The invention also relates to a pump-type device comprising an inlet valve and an outlet valve, of which at least a first valve with at least one of the preceding characteristics is disposed at an inlet and / or an outlet of the device. The pump is thus simple and all the easier to manufacture that the rigid walls are each part of a monobloc component constituting the structure of the pump.
Advantageously, the device comprises two valves having an identical valve. This standardization allows a reduction in manufacturing costs. The invention also relates to an airless flexible tube device having a nozzle, characterized in that said nozzle comprises a valve with at least one of the preceding characteristics and housed in the orifice of said flexible tube. The flexible tube is another type of container whose volume is likely to correspond at any time of its use to the residual volume of the product it contains. In a traditional mode of use, the orifice of the tube is open and when the user releases the pressure on the wall of the tube, the air enters the tube as a total or partial substitution of the cream removed. In use, there is therefore a large amount of air in the tube, especially when the tube wall has a large memory shape, which is often the case for the tubes used to package care creams. In this second embodiment of the invention, the tip of the flexible tube comprises a valve of the invention closing the orifice of said flexible tube. Thus, when the user presses on the flexible wall of the tube, the pressure created in the tube opens the valve and releases the passage of the orifice of the tube. As soon as it interrupts this pressure, the valve closes prohibiting the penetration of air into the tube. This application of the invention is therefore of great interest insofar as it makes it possible to have a packaging without air, without the use of a pump, which is more expensive than the device of the invention, and additionally having an ergonomics poorly adapted to the association with a flexible tube type container.
Advantageously, said tip is capped with a second flexible shutter valve orifice, said second valve being fixed on the inner face of a chimney bearing on the free end of a rod, the rod and the chimney being monobloc with a support piece. The flexible tube thus has two barriers to the entry of air into the tube, the two barriers being arranged "in series" with respect to each other: the flexible shutter valve of the orifice and the Valve of the check valve simultaneously open and close the passage as the user exerts a pressure on the wall of the tube or interrupts this pressure.
Advantageously, the support piece forms a one-piece assembly with the end piece. This embodiment is particularly economical since the rigid support walls and the fixing means of each valve are made in the one-piece nozzle. Other advantages may still be apparent to those skilled in the art on reading the examples below, illustrated by the appended figures given by way of example: FIG. 1 is a section of an airless distribution system the pump is equipped with an inlet valve and an outlet valve according to the invention, - Figure 2 is a section of the valve according to the invention in a first arrangement, - Figure 3 is a section of the valve according to the invention in a second arrangement, - Figure 4 is a sectional view of the valve according to the invention before assembly, - Figure 5 is a sectional view of the valve of Figure 4 compressed after mounting - FIGS. 6A, 6B, 6C are cross-sectional views of a flexible tube of the state of the art, respectively open, equipped with a removable plug called "screw", equipped with a fixed cap called "capsule service" FIG. 7 is a section of the valve according to the invention capped with a reducer and disposed of r a flexible tube, - Figure 8 is a section of the valve according to the invention capped a second flexible shutter valve, arranged on a flexible tube,
The sealed non-return valve of the invention adapts to a first pump-type device equipping an airless distribution system (airless distributor).
In the rest of the description, we will call up the side where the cap is located and down the part of the container.
The airless dispenser of FIG. 1 comprises a push button 2 and a pump 1, consisting of a first element 6a and a second element 3, movable relative to each other, the combination of these two elements allowing to constitute a closed space of variable volume constituting a distribution chamber 11. The dispenser is fixed on a container (not shown) disposed on the opposite side to the push button 2.
The pump 1 is equipped with an inlet valve consisting of a valve 7 resting on the rigid wall 63 belonging to the first element 6a of the pump 1 and an outlet valve consisting of a valve 8 resting on the rigid wall 35 belonging to the second element 3 of the pump 1.
The inlet valve provides the barrier between the container and the pump 1, the outlet valve ensures the barrier between the pump 1 and the outside, thus defining three sealed spaces relative to each other of the container, the pump and the outside atmosphere.
The valve 7 comprises a flexible peripheral wall 70 and a central fixing means consisting of a chimney 71. Before assembly, the flexible wall 70 describes a cone of revolution of axis XX, whose generator is approximately a straight line at an angle A with the axis XX of the chimney 71, for example 45 ° (Figure 4). The value of the angle A may vary depending on the polymer and the valve diameter 7. The preferable angle A combines the largest bearing surface and the greatest support force after assembly. The assembly consists of pressing the valve 7 on the wall 63, by fitting the chimney 71 on a rod 62 also belonging to the first element 6a of the pump and substantially perpendicular to the wall 63.
The cone of revolution has a large base 72 and a small base 73, and an inner face 720 on the inner side of the cone. Once the valve 7 assembled in the support position, or after crushing, the valve 7 describes a form of revolution whose generator is approximately a quarter circle, the outer end of the peripheral zone 70 describing a flattened ring (cf. 5) and resting on the rigid wall 63, the large base 72 being deformed by the bearing of its inner face 720 on the rigid wall 63. The outer diameter of the large base goes from 5.67 mm to about 6 20 mm, an elongation of the material of the order of 9%. This elongation induces a considerable support force, much greater than a non-elastic deformation, which ensures the seal "at rest".
The rigid wall 63 is perforated with at least one orifice 64 disposed under the valve 7 and for removing the product from the container. The flexible peripheral zone 70 seals up to an overpressure of the upstream zone between 120 and 160 millibars beyond which the zone 70 will deform to open the valve and allow the product to pass. This value is both sufficient to ensure the tightness of the valve and low enough to give a pleasant feeling to the user.
The outlet valve 8 of the pump has the same characteristics before and after assembly as the valve 7. It has a flexible wall 80 and a chimney 81. The cone of revolution has a large base 82 and a small base 83, and an inner face 820 of the inner side of the cone.
In a preferred solution, it is strictly identical to the valve 7. After assembly, the flexible wall 80 is placed in abutment on a rigid wall 35 belonging to the second element 3 constituting the pump, with characteristics identical to the bearing of the wall flexible 70 on the rigid wall 63. The chimney 81 is fitted on a hollow rod 21 substantially perpendicular to the wall 35 which is perforated with at least one orifice 36 disposed under the valve 8.
The outlet valve therefore has identical properties to the inlet valve.
The push button 2 is pierced with a conduit 22 which allows the dispensing of the product.
We will now describe the mode of operation of the pump. At rest, the two valves are closed, the two valves are supported on the rigid walls 63 and 35, the second element 3 of the pump 1 and the push button 2 are fixedly connected.
The push button 2 is mobile. The movement of the pushbutton 2 back and forth causes a variation in volume of the variable volume distribution chamber 11. When the user presses the push button 2, he compresses the distribution chamber 11 and creates an overpressure in said distribution chamber 11. The overpressure causes the opening of the valve 8 of the outlet valve, the volume reduction of the distribution chamber and evacuation of the product outside. When the user releases the push button 2 it goes up under the effect of a return means 5 and creates · a vacuum in the distribution chamber 11. The depression causes the closure of the valve 8 of the valve of outlet, the opening of the valve 7 of the inlet valve and the filling of the distribution chamber 11 from the container (not shown).
The sealed anti-return valve of the invention fits on a second device of the flexible tube type.
As can be seen in FIGS. 6A, 6B and 6C, the flexible tubes are generally composed of three components: a flexible body or skirt 101, a tube head 102 and a capsule. The head of the tube is a rigid element having a fixing means 102-1 of the capsule, said capsule being fixed, in the case of the capsule called "service" 103 (FIG. 6C), or removable in the case of the capsule called "screw" 105 (Figure 6B).
When the tube is equipped with a removable capsule 105, the head of the tube 102 constitutes a one-piece assembly incorporating the attachment means 102-1 of the removable capsule 105 and the tip 102-3, which delimits the orifice 104 of evacuation of the product contained in the tube. The orifice 104 is closed by screwing the capsule 105 onto the fixing means 102-1.
The fixed capsules 103 consist of two parts:
A first part said base 103-1 is fixed permanently on the tube by the fixing means 102-1 and;
A second part called cap 103-2 is fixed by means of a hinge on the base 103-1.
In this arrangement, the tip 103-3 delimiting the orifice 104 of the tube is integral with the base of the capsule. The cap has a freedom of pivoting relative to the base. In the open position, it releases the orifice 104, in the closed position it closes the orifice 104.
The flexible tube according to the invention comprises a valve housed in the orifice 104. The support piece 6b is a one-piece assembly which joins the rod 62, the chimney 106, and the rigid wall 63 (see FIGS. Said support piece 6b can be assembled with the tip 102-3, 103-3.
The support piece 6b may be an element of the one-piece nozzle 102-3, 103-3.
In a first variant shown in Figure 7, the tip is capped with a reducer 105 to protect the valve 7 and give the outlet port 104 the required diameter. The reducer 105 is fixed on the support part 6a in the chimney 106.
In the second variant shown in FIG. 8, the end piece 1 is capped with a second flexible valve 107 for closing the orifice 104 in substitution for the gear unit 105 of FIG. 7. The second valve 107 is fixed on the internal face of the chimney 106 bearing on the free end 621 of the rod 62. The valve constituting the shutter end and the check valve open and close simultaneously depending on whether the user exerts pressure on the wall of the tube or interrupts this pressure. The free end of the rod 62 and the wall 106 respectively serve as a rigid support wall and a means for fixing the valve 107.
This embodiment is particularly economical since the means for fixing the valves 7 and 107, as well as the rigid support walls of these valves are formed in the one-piece piece 6a.
The valve 7 or 8 may be elastomeric type SEBS, TPP or TEV. The rigid wall 63, 35 may be high density polyethylene (HDPE), polycarbonate (PC), polypropylene (PP) or styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) and any type of rigid polymer compatible with the packaged product.
