专利说明:

[0001] This intervention is an underwater protection fence, shark, self-supporting and removable. This fence serves to hinder the access of certain sea areas to sharks. Following the shark attacks that have occurred in Reunion Island since 2011, and the studies conducted in the past, in particular: - Studies related to the establishment of underwater lookouts (*) - To the data of the program monitoring acoustic attendance sharks (*). (*) Studies in which the depository team of this patent application participated actively. It appears necessary to implement solutions to ensure the safety of water activities in certain coastal areas while respecting the environment as much as possible and therefore in particular avoiding any removal. However, it turns out that the operational protection means implemented worldwide until today are essentially devices fishing, either with nets or baited line based also called drumline. These devices have a strong impact on the environment, to the extent that their main purpose and capture sharks. They also have the disadvantage of generating a large number of bycatch. The areas where sharks are most present near the coast are largely tropical areas, these areas are also subject to intense climatic events such as cyclones or typhoons. Conditions in which coastal submarine devices are under severe strain. The device proposed in the framework of this patent, makes it possible to hinder the passage of potentially dangerous sharks by their size, without sinning, by partitioning or limiting access to the nautical areas to be protected. Since the fence is made up of rigid bars, the capture and immobilization of the fish is not possible. The fence is an impassable obstacle without degradation. The size of the intervals delimited by the bars as well as the section of the bars can be adapted to the context. It will generally be 1m / 0.6m and will allow the passage of a large number of species but will limit the passage of fish whose wingspan exceeds 0.6m. This is especially the case for bulldog or tiger sharks larger than 1m in size.
[0002] The proposed device allows the vertical maintenance of the fence, without the use of surface buoys for its positioning and support. It consists of self-supporting elements and not supported by a surface buoy. This limits the general constraints on the device and thus increases its ability to withstand extreme weather conditions. The proposed device can be easily implemented, it does not require the installation of a heavy infrastructure on the seabed and can be reinforced by conventional anchoring means. This makes it possible to predict the raising of the device in the event of a warning of a strong tropical storm, a cyclone or during periods requiring free access to protected areas, which may be the case in particular during the whale migration season. . The possibility of lifting the device is an important factor in limiting maintenance costs. The proposed device is impassable by sharks of a certain size, this constitutes an important factor of safety for the users of the protected nautical zones 10 as well as an undeniable advantage compared to the scaring systems. The simplicity of production and implementation of the device is an economic advantage. Figure 1 shows the block diagram of the device seen from the front. Figure 2 is a more detailed view of the different components of the fence.
[0003] The fence (1) is composed of rigid and floating bars (2) arranged in the vertical and horizontal direction to form rectangular meshes (9). The mesh (9) constituted by these bars provides protection against crossing, but does not block and immobilize fish as conventional nets. The sizes, mesh bounded by these bars will be adapted to the necessary protection conditions and will be determined in particular by the size of the fish to be excluded from the area. In addition, the bars (2) have a positive buoyancy which ensures the vertical positioning of the fence (1) in the marine environment. The section of the bars (2) will be calculated so as to adapt the buoyancy of the device (1) to the environmental conditions and in particular to the conditions of swells and currents. The buoyancy of the bars (2) makes it unnecessary to use surface buoys to support the device. The fact that each bar is self-supported and not supported by a surface buoy, limits the general constraints on the device (1), which allows a very good resistance of the device (1) to the swell and the current. The bars (2) are generally hollow and sealed, they can be made in 30 different materials. Preferred materials are polyethylene (PE) or aluminum. The fence (1) is intended to cover the entire water column from the seabed (7) to the surface (6). The height of the barrier can be adapted according to the depth of the place of installation. The principle of the fence is to ensure a partitioning of the area. 3025777 - 3- The device consists of bars (2) each bar (2) is provided with an eyelet (10) at each end. This eyelet (10) makes it possible to fix the bars together by means of an articulated link (3) or articulated device (3). The link (3) or articulated device (3) allows movement both on the vertical axis, on the horizontal axis and on the lateral axis. The articulated link (3) is made either by means of a nylon tip, spectra, or any other material, either by a chain or stainless carabiners or a stainless steel part. Each bar (2) of the first vertical row and fixed on a chain (4) is by an articulated link (8) made by means of a boot nylon, spectra, or any other material, either 10 by a stainless steel carabiner or a stainless steel piece. The chain (4) allows the maintenance of the device closer to the seabed. Its section is defined according to the environment and in particular the conditions of swells and currents. If the conditions so require, the maintenance of the chain (4) can be reinforced by conventional anchoring means such as dead bodies, grapples or spite (5) or any other appropriate means. The device according to the invention is therefore intended to limit the access of sharks to certain marine areas.
