SEAMLESS PACKAGING
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a sealed package provided with a sealing profile - for opening the opening of the package.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION There are known closures for opening a package opening, such as those shown in Figure 1. Figure 1 shows a side view of the top of an exemplary package 10 provided with an exemplary prior art seam 14 which is a straight seam. The seam is a reclosable seam, typically heat sealed or ultrasonically sealed, where upon application to the side surfaces (first side facing the back surface and the second side facing the back surface) a deflecting force generally opens the straight seam substantially substantially the entire length of the seam 14 simultaneously. However, there are some drawbacks to the prior art, such as the need to use a relatively large force to open a package with a seam according to the prior art. In addition, during the opening process, the rate of change of force required changes and decreases dramatically and abruptly - the moment the seam finally opens completely. This can cause uncontrolled opening and unwanted damage to the package and / or the contents of the package, such as unwanted leakage or spread of the contents out of the package.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of the invention is to alleviate and eliminate the x problems associated with the prior art. In particular, it is an object of the invention to provide an easy and controllable opening process for sealed N packages so that the force required to initiate opening S is less than - required to open conventional prior art seams, and in addition the force required during opening is uniform and without large variations. .
The object of the invention can be achieved by means of the features of the independent protection claims.
The invention relates to a sealed package with a seam profile according to claim 1. According to an embodiment of the invention, the sealed package is provided with a curved seam profile to facilitate the process of opening the package.
The package can be, for example, a bag or mass or a vacuum package, such as a coffee or tea package, or, for example, - a shielding gas package, a package sealed at four corners, - a vertical bag package or a pillow package.
The package comprises a wall structure and an end portion which forms the package and delimits the opening portion of the opening opposite the end portion during manufacture of the package.
The structure has a first edge and a second edge on the sides of the package.
In addition, the structure has a first (front) side and a second (rear) side.
The opening can be closed - by connecting the first and second sides with a seam according to the invention.
The seam is preferably arranged in the opening part to openably close the opening by connecting said first and second sides of the wall structure and causing the seam to extend from the first edge to the second edge.
The seam preferably comprises a curved seam profile which can be implemented in a number of ways, but - according to one preferred embodiment of the invention the seam is arranged so that in the first edge region of the sealed package it is closer to the end part and further away from the end part in at least one first area next to the first edge.
Said first region o may be located, for example, in the region of the second edge, the seam profile being continuously ascending and extending from the first edge towards the second edge and continuously distancing A further from the end part towards the second edge, i.e. the seam profile is closer to 5 end portions at the first edge and furthest = © According to another embodiment, the first region is located between the first edge and the second edge, and more specifically substantially in the middle between the first edge and the second edge.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the N-seam profile comprises a curved or sharp edge so that the opening angle of the curved or sharp edge opens towards the end part.
This makes it easier to open the package and improves usability, because when a deflection force is applied to the first and second sides of the package, the curved seam tends to open first from the part furthest from the end of the package, i.e. the curved or sharp edge.
This reduces the bending force required to start the opening process and, in addition, when a first small opening is formed in the curved or sharp edge of the seam, ambient air can flow into the empty package, balancing internal and external pressure and thus facilitating opening of the end of the seam closer to the first and second edges.
According to one embodiment, the first region is located substantially - in the middle between the first and second edges. Furthermore, according to one example, the seam profile is symmetrical with respect to said center. Furthermore, the curved seam profile is configured to open the first and second sides apart during the application of a deflecting or pulling force, i.e. the seam according to the invention is a reclosable seam.
—The sealed package according to the invention can be produced e.g. by a vertical or horizontal forming, filling and sealing machine. Still further, the first page and the second page are made of the same material or are from the same roll of material, making the manufacturing process quick, easy and simple. The seam can be made, for example, with a heat-sealing technique or with an ultrasonic sealing technique.
The present invention offers advantages over the prior art, such as that it allows an easy and controlled opening process of sealed packages = such that the force required to apply the opening = to apply to the seam is less than that required to open conventional S 25 prior art seams. In addition, the changes during the opening process N in the force required to effect the opening are N smooth without any major variations, whereby the opening process is more controlled and 3 unwanted damage to the package and / or package contents, such as unwanted spillage or spreading out of the package. a O 30 The embodiments set forth herein are not to be construed as imposing x limitations on the applicability of the accompanying protection requirements. The verb “comprising” N is used in this text in a broad sense, in which case the existence of S - features - which are not presented is not excluded either. The features set out in the dependent claims are freely combinable unless - unless expressly stated otherwise.
The new features understood to be characteristic of the invention are explicitly set out in the appended claims. The invention itself, together with its further objects and advantages, will be best understood from the following description of the following = description of certain exemplary embodiments, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Next, the invention will be explained - in more detail - by considering exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows the principle of 3-4 show the top of an exemplary sealed package having a curved seam profile in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention; Figure 5 shows an exemplary package in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention prior to sealing; Figures 6-7 show exemplary sealed packages having a curved seam profile in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention. , O

DETAILED DESCRIPTION Figure 1 is a side view of the top of an exemplary package 10 having an exemplary prior art seam 14 that is a straight seam. The seam is a reclosable seam, typically heat sealed or ultrasonically sealed, whereby applying a deflecting force to the side surfaces (the first facing the back side and the second facing the back side), the straight seam 5 tends to open simultaneously over substantially the entire length of the seam 14. In this case, a relatively large force should be used to open the package. In addition, during the opening process, the rate of change of force required decreases dramatically and abruptly when the seam finally opens. This may cause uncontrolled opening and unwanted damage to the package and / or package contents, such as unwanted spillage of the contents out of the package. Figure 2 shows an exemplary packaging blank or laminate sheet 100 prior to sealing and sealing and thus forming a package according to the invention using the wall structure 101, the end portion 102 and the front and back sides or the first side 101C and the second side 101D.
Figures 3-4 show the upper part of an exemplary sealed package 100 with a curved seam profile 104 according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the sealed package 100 comprising a wall structure 101 and an end portion 102 forming said package and defining an opening 103 opposite said end portion 102. into the packaging - during manufacture. The package can be made, for example, of a cut material (or wall structure), which is shown, for example, in Figure 2. The wall structure 101 has a first edge 101A and a second edge 101B on the sides of the package. In addition, the wall structure 101 has a first side 101C and a second side 101D. Therefore, when the wall structure is folded or physically modified into the shape of the package, as shown in Figure 5, the package has N opening portions 103 which can be closed by joining said first and second N sides 101C, 101D with a seam 104 according to the invention.
S The seam 104 is preferably arranged in the opening part 103 to close the opening I by connecting said first and second sides of the wall structure 101C, 101D. The seam 104 preferably extends from the first edge 101A to the second = edge 101B. According to the invention, the seam 104 comprises a curved seam profile, S as can be seen in particular from Figures 3-4. The curved seam profile 104 may be implemented in a number of ways, but in practice the seam 104 is closer to the end portion> 102 at the first edge 101A of the sealed package 100 and further away from the end portion 102 in at least one first region 105 adjacent the first edge 101A. Said first region 105 may be located, for example, in the second edge region 101B, the seam profile 104 being continuously rising and extending from the second end portion 102 towards the second edge 101B and continuously moving further away from the end portion 102 so that the seam profile 104 is closer to the end portion 102 at the first edge 101A and furthest from the end portion 102. at the first edge 101B.
The figures show another embodiment in which said first area 105 is located between the first and second edges 101A, 101B and more specifically substantially midway between said first and second edges 101A, 101B, as is the case in Figures 3 and 4. According to the invention, the seam profile 104 - comprises a curved or sharp edge 106 so that the opening angle 107 of said curved or sharp edge 106 opens towards the end portion 102. This makes opening the package easier and improves usability because applying a deflection force to the first and second sides 101C, 101D first opens the seam 104 according to the invention, which is furthest - from the end 102 of the package, i.e. from the curved or sharp edge 106, and not at the same time over the entire seam.
This reduces the required torque, and furthermore, when a first small opening is formed in the curved or sharp edge 106, ambient air can flow into the vacuum package, thus balancing internal and external pressure and thus facilitating opening of the end area of the seam closer to the first and second edges 101A, 101B.
The opening angle 107 of said edge 106 is preferably less than 130 ", according to one example less than 90 ° and according to another example less than 70 °. S 25 The seam 104 comprises lower and upper interfaces 104A, 104B or edge boundaries, N which may be physically separate or physically the same seam area / material.
N According to one embodiment, the lower interface 104A is located closer to the S end portion 102 than the corresponding upper interface 104B at each point I of the seam profile 104 between the first and second edges 101A, 101B.
According to one embodiment = 30 - the upper interface 104B is located at the first edge 101A = closer to said end portion 102 than the lower interface 104A in said first region 105 S (as is especially the case in Figure 3), whereby the balancing effect of S external - internal pressure during seam opening is still more effective.
According to one example, the deviation d (i.e., how much higher does the lower interface 104A extend in said first region 105 than the location of the upper interface 104B at the first edge 101A)
is preferably the width w of the seam, more preferably the deviation d is greater than the width w, such as 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% or even 100% greater. Figure 5 shows an exemplary package 100 prior to sealing and Figures 6- / show exemplary sealed packages having - a curved seam profile 104 in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention. The package 100 is preferably a vacuum package such as a coffee or tea package, a shielding gas package, a quadrangular package or pillow case. Fig. 8 is a diagram illustrating the force required to open a coffee package with a prior art seam profile (straight seam profile as shown in the prior art - Fig. 1) and in which two force spikes can be detected. Spike 1 represents the starting force required to begin the process of opening the package 10, and spike 2 represents the maximum force required to complete the process of opening the package. Fig. 9 is a diagram illustrating the force required to open a coffee package 100 with a curved seam profile 104 according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, and again two 'force peaks' can be detected. It should be noted that the force required to start opening the package (Spike 1) is a significant reduction compared to Spike 1 in the case of the prior art seam profile (Figure 8). The maximum force required to complete the opening (Spike 2) has also been reduced. It is also clear from the diagram of Figure 9 that the load curve of the curved seam profile is smoother throughout the opening process than in the case of the (straight) seam profile according to the prior art. All this facilitates the opening process, reduces the forces required and also makes the opening S 25 smoother and easier to control than in the case of prior art straight N seams.
The invention has been described above with reference to the above-mentioned embodiments, and various advantages of the invention have been demonstrated. It is to be understood that the invention is not limited to these embodiments, but encompasses all possible embodiments which are within the spirit and scope of the inventive idea and the following claims. N The features set out in the dependent claims are freely combinable, unless expressly stated otherwise.
