5 System to determine the degree of fade of textile fabrics.
Object of the invention.
The object of the invention is a system for determining the degree of fading of
10 textile fabrics, which have characteristics that allow determining the degree of discoloration of textile fabrics in an objective and reproducible way, by analyzing and comparing the luminosity of an image of the fabric in question with a database composed of patterns of brightness of an approved gray scale corresponding to different degrees of fade of various
15 fabrics and in particular with the type of fabric in question.
Field of application of the invention.
This invention is applicable in the textile sector and more specifically in the analysis of the degree of fabric fade.
State of the art
One of the factors to take into account in the textile sector is whether a cloth impregnated with a certain dye fades, or not; and if I faded at what intensity it does.
This factor is of great importance because it determines the price of the fabric; if the cloth fades less, it is more expensive than if it fades more.
30 Currently, the system used to determine this factor is totally subjective and based on simple visual observation. Both companies and laboratories use a personal perception system.
They take as reference a preset pattern by means of regulations and compare
same. On many occasions, the opinion of several people is requested and the degree of discoloration of the fabric ends up being agreed based on their visual perception, being able to obtain different results based on diverse factors, such as the visual acuity of the individual, or the ambient lighting .
This technique of visual comparison lacks sufficient rigor to guarantee a quality standard in the results obtained, especially taking into account the basic color of the fabrics (that is to say without dyeing) it is also parameterized and, depending on its composition (wool, linen, tergal , etc.) raw fabrics have a
10 color that is not uniform.
Therefore, the technical problem that arises is the development of a system that allows to objectively determine the degree of decoration of the fabrics and provide reliable results in certain conditions and
15 playable over time.
Description of the invention
As the purpose of solving the exposed problem, a system has been devised for
20 determine the degree of discoloration of textile fabrics in an objective and reproducible manner by analyzing and comparing the luminosity of an image of the fabric in question with the approved luminosities stored in a database corresponding to different degrees of discoloration of various fabrics and in particular with the type of fabric in question.
According to the invention, this system comprises:
- a support structure, provided with a table with a positioning area of a sample of the fabric to be analyzed;
- an opaque covering element of the sample positioning zone, said opaque element having an upper window and, inside, some
stable and uniform lighting means of the fabric sample;
35 -a camera to capture an image of the sample of the fabric to be analyzed;
- an adjustable support for securing a camera in a position suitable for capturing an image of the sample of the fabric to be analyzed through the upper window of the opaque covering element and;
- a computer to which the camera is connected and which has: a database with the luminosity corresponding to different degrees of approved discoloration of various fabrics and a management software that compares the brightness of the sample image of cloth
10 analyze captured by the camera and compare it with the luminosities stored in the database corresponding to different degrees of discoloration of the same type of fabric and determine the degree of discoloration of the analyzed fabric sample.
15 With the characteristics mentioned above, this system allows to obtain a reliable and exact result of the degree of discoloration of the analyzed fabric sample.
In one embodiment of the invention it is provided that the chamber is coupled to the upper window of the opaque covering element: either directly, 20 or through an opaque tubular piece, which prevents light contamination of the sample image of cloth, captured by the camera.
The adjustable support allows to fix the camera in a suitable position to capture the image of the sample of the fabric in a clear and exact way.
25 The lighting means located inside the opaque covering element are preferably constituted by LEDs that provide a white light for stable and uniform illumination of the fabric sample, which allows the camera to capture an image of the fabric sample in optimal conditions and
30 lighting uniforms.
In an embodiment of the invention, the positioning area of the fabric sample to be analyzed comprises a channel for the lateral introduction of a template with the fabric sample in question and its positioning facing the window.
35 of the opaque covering element.
According to the invention, the management software converts the color into a gray scale, so that it allows you to reliably compare the brightness of the image with the approved luminosities stored in the database and
5 determine exactly the degree of fabric fade.
It is a completely reliable system, much safer and above all faster than the empirical method currently used, because by reading all the information is obtained accurately.
Description of the figures.
To complement the description that is being made and in order to facilitate the understanding of the features of the invention, a set of drawings is attached to the present specification in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented :
- Figure 1 shows an elevation view of an exemplary embodiment of the system for determining the degree of textile fabric fade, according to the invention.
20 - Figure 2 shows a top plan view of the system of Figure 1 without the computer and in which they have been represented: the camera support turned to the side to allow observation of the upper window of the opaque covering element : and the template carrying the fabric sample to be examined extracted from the
25 positioning zone of it.
- Figure 3 shows a view analogous to the previous one with the camera and with the template carrying the fabric sample to be examined in the position of use of the system.
30 -Figure 4 shows a bottom perspective view of the opaque covering element, in which the lighting means housed inside can be seen.
Preferred embodiment of the invention.
35 5
As can be seen in the example of embodiment shown in Figure 1, this system for determining the degree of textile fabric fade comprises a support structure (1), provided with a table (11) with a positioning zone (12) of the sample of the fabric to be analyzed; and an opaque element of
5 covering (2) of said zone (12).
Said opaque covering element (2), which in this exemplary embodiment has a dome-like shape, is provided with a top window (21), visible in figure 2 and with interior lighting means (22) visible in Figure 4, and
10 constituted in this case by LEDs that provide a stable and uniform illumination of the sample of the fabric to be analyzed.
As can be seen in the aforementioned figure 1, the system additionally comprises a camera (3) for capturing an image of the fabric sample
15 to analyze; and an adjustable support (4) for securing a chamber (3) in a position suitable for capturing through the upper window (21) of the opaque covering element (2) of an image of the fabric sample a analyze positioned in the area (12).
20 The camera (3) is connected to a computer (5) that has: a database with the luminosity corresponding to different degrees of discoloration of various fabrics and a management software that compares the brightness of the image of the sample of fabric to be analyzed captured by the camera (3) and compares it with the approved luminosities
25 stored in the database corresponding to different degrees of discoloration of the same type of fabric and determines the degree of discoloration of the analyzed fabric sample.
In the exemplary embodiment shown in Figure 1 the camera is located
30 coupled to the upper window of the opaque covering element (2) by means of an opaque tubular part (6), like a sleeve or a bellows, which prevents the entry of exterior light and light pollution of the image of the fabric sample , captured by the camera.
35 As can be seen in Figures 2 and 3, the zone (12) for positioning 6
of the fabric samples (7) to be analyzed, it is provided with a channel for the lateral introduction as a slide of a template (71) carrying said fabric samples (7).
5 It should be mentioned that said channel defined in the positioning zone (12) of thefabric sample (7) may be formed on the table (11), without arrivingto affect the opaque covering element (2), or affecting the lower part of saidopaque covering element (2) as shown in the example of figure 4.
10 Once the nature of the invention has been sufficiently described, as well as a preferred embodiment, it is stated for the appropriate purposes that the materials. Shape, size and arrangement of the elements described may be modified, provided that this does not imply an alteration of the essential features of the invention that are claimed below.
