Maniqul for surface treatment of pants.
Field of the invention
The invention relates to a maniqul for the surface treatment of pants, which comprises an upper support structure, with an area for fixing the upper part of pants, and from which two legs fit to stay inside extend of the leg of the pants to be treated. Each leg defines a longitudinal axis. The maniqul has an anterior part, corresponding to the anterior part of the pants, and a posterior part, where each of the legs has an inflatable ball arranged at its rear. The inflatable ball has an upper edge, a lower edge, an inner side section with an inner edge, close to the other leg, and an outer side section with an outer edge, opposite the inner side section. The inflatable ball has a longitudinal axis that passes through its geometric center and is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the corresponding leg.
State of the art
Maniquls such as those indicated above are known. One of its applications is for the surface treatment of pants by laser. Examples thereof can be found in US 2003/0146194 A1 and WO 2014/120105 A1.
However, laser treatment is very sensitive to differences in distance between the focus of the laser beam and the surface to be treated. In addition, it requires that the surface to be treated be free of bends. On the other hand, the high temperatures reached during the treatment can negatively affect the useful life of the ball.
On the other hand, there is always an interest in increasing the productivity of the laser treatment process.
Exposition of the invention
The invention aims to overcome these inconveniences. This purpose is achieved by a maniqul of the type indicated at the beginning characterized by:

each of the inflatable balls has its outer side section folded on itself at least once around a folding line that extends from the upper edge to the lower edge,
the upper edge is fixed to the upper rear end of the corresponding leg, such that the part of the upper edge corresponding to the outer side section is also fixed to the upper rear end of the leg,
the lower edge is fixed to a posterior intermediate point of the corresponding leg, such that the part of the lower edge corresponding to the outer lateral section is also fixed to the posterior intermediate point.
Indeed, the inclusion of a ball with a folded as indicated in the ball offers a number of advantages:
- The balloon, when swollen, fills the back of the pants, allowing the front to be flatter. It should be taken into account that most laser treatments are usually done on the front part of the pants.
- the folding causes the ball to swell preferably laterally (in width) and preferably outwards and less in thickness, which also improves the final shape adopted by the pants. In the present description and claims, the term "thickness" has been used to refer to the third dimension of the ball (perpendicular to the length, measured in the direction of the longitudinal axis, and to the width). The thickness of the ball is therefore the size of the ball as such (swollen or not) measured "from front to back." It should not be confused with the thickness of the sheet of elastomeric material that makes up the ball.
- the ball, being fixed both by its upper edge and its lower edge, does not swell longitudinally.
- the ball swells more "outwards" (away from the surface of the leg) than "inwards" (that is, towards the leg. In fact, since the ball is mounted in contact with the surface of the back of the leg, when swelling towards the back, and since the leg itself prevents the ball from moving backwards, the consequence is that the ball moves outward but in a forced way, which is of interest to minimize.

- The ball swells with a lower air pressure, which makes it easier for the ball to adopt the shape of the pants and not vice versa. In addition, the filling and emptying cycles of the ball are faster by having to put in or take out a smaller amount of air.
- since the ball is only in the upper back of the pants, the surface prone to be damaged by the laser is significantly reduced, so that the life of the ball is longer.
Preferably, each of the inflatable balls has its outer lateral section folded on itself at least twice around an inner folding line and an outer folding line that extend both from the upper edge to the lower edge, so that the outer side section is bent in a zigzag shape,
the upper edge is fixed to the upper rear end of the corresponding leg, such that the part of the upper edge corresponding to the outer side section is also fixed to the upper rear end of the leg,
the lower edge is fixed to a posterior intermediate point of the corresponding leg, such that the part of the lower edge corresponding to the outer lateral section is also fixed to the posterior intermediate point.
This alternative, with the zigzag bending, significantly improves the behavior of the ball to be swollen so that the advantages mentioned above are increased. The increase in folds:
- it increases the effect of the inflation in a lateral direction with respect to the in-depth inflation, the effect of the inflation "outwards" instead of "inwards" and the need for a lower filling pressure.
By indicating that the lower edge is fixed to a posterior intermediate point of the leg, what is meant is that it is not fixed at the lower end of the leg, so that the ball is offset off the leg. In other words, the center (in the longitudinal direction) of the ball is above the center (in the longitudinal direction) of the leg. Advantageously, the intermediate point is arranged within a section between 25% and 75% of the total length of the corresponding leg, and preferably said intermediate point is arranged within a section between 30% and 50% of the length

total corresponding leg, measured from the upper end of the leg. It is really interesting to have the balloon swelling effect on the upper back of the pants. The lower part of the pants, preferably from just above the knees and downwards, no longer needs to be subjected to this effect of balloon inflation, and it may even be better that it is not subjected to the effect of balloon inflation, since, of this way, you can have the bottom of the pants completely flat, both for its front and for its back. Therefore it is of interest that the lower edge of the ball is not fixed at the lower end of the leg but at an intermediate point thereof, which is preferably in the ranges mentioned above. On the other hand, by making the ball shorter and, therefore, with a smaller volume, it is also achieved that the cycles of filling and emptying of air are faster. The choice of the specific point may have to be a compromise solution, for example if the maniqul is going to be used to treat pants of various sizes. In this sense, it may be advantageous for the maniqul to present a plurality of intermediate points so that one ball can be replaced with another of a different length depending on the size of the pants to be treated.
Preferably each of the inflatable balls has its inner side section folded on itself at least once around a bending line that extends from the upper edge to the lower edge, the upper edge is fixed to the upper rear end of the corresponding leg, such that the part of the upper edge corresponding to the inner side section is also fixed to the upper rear end of the leg, and the lower edge is fixed to a rear intermediate point of the corresponding leg, such that the part The lower edge corresponding to the inner side section is also fixed to the rear intermediate point. That is, the ball has the two lateral sections (the interior and the exterior) bent. This improves the filling of the inside of the pants. Advantageously, each of the inflatable balls has its inner side section folded on itself at least twice around an inner folding line and an outer folding line that extend both from the upper edge to the lower edge, so that the inner side section is bent in a zigzag shape, the upper edge is fixed to the upper rear end of the corresponding leg, such that the part of the upper edge corresponding to the inner side section is also fixed to the upper rear end of the leg, and the lower edge is fixed to a posterior intermediate point of the corresponding leg, such that the part of the lower edge corresponding to the inner lateral section is also fixed to the posterior intermediate point.
Although it is advantageous for the ball to have both its outer side section and its inner side section bent, so that both sides of the pants are better filled, the truth is that the outer side must be filled and deployed before the inner side, reducing the friction for

get the ball suits the pants and not the other way around. In this sense, it is advantageous (both in the case that the ball has only the folded outer side section or both) that the inner folding line and the outer folding line of the outer side section are arranged such that the lateral section folded exterior cover the longitudinal axis of the ball. In this way the deformation of the ball outward when swollen is increased.
Preferably the ball has a sealing section that extends from said upper edge to said lower edge. The ball can have different geometries and be manufactured in different ways. Thus, for example, it can be formed from a cylindrical tube with its upper and lower edges sealed. Advantageously, the upper edge is longer than the lower edge, which can be achieved, for example, from a truncated conical tube with its upper and lower edges sealed. However, it is advantageous to form the ball from a flat sheet folded on itself so that, apart from having the upper and lower edges sealed, it also has a sealing section that extends from the upper edge to the lower edge. The presence of this sealing section “stiffens” the central part of the ball in a certain way, which increases its tendency to expand more towards the sides than in the sense of its thickness. Preferably, the sealing section extends along the longitudinal axis of the ball since this "stiffening" behavior is optimized against an expansion in the direction of thickness.
When the ball has at least two bends and a sealing section, it is advantageous that the inner folding line and the outer folding line of the outer side section are arranged such that the folded outer side section covers the sealing section. This configuration improves the expansion of the ball outwards.
Preferably each of the balls is fixed to the corresponding leg in a state of longitudinal pretension. This provides several advantages, such as the fact that it has a higher emptying speed and has an expansion in the direction of the smaller thickness. Advantageously, this claim implies that the ball, fixed on the leg, has a length that is increased between 10% and 40% with respect to the length of the resting ball (that is, without being subjected to any effort).
Advantageously, each of the balls, folded and deflated, has a width equal to or less than the width of the leg section on which it is mounted, so that the ball does not protrude laterally with respect to the leg on which it is mounted. Indeed, another advantage of the mannequin according to the invention is that it allows for a more duty cycle.

fast and that requires less labor, since the extraction of the maniqul pants once it has been treated is done automatically, without the need for an operator to remove the pants manually. The maniqul is used in a vertical position and, at the end of the trouser treatment, it must simply fall thanks to the force of gravity. For this, it is necessary to reduce to the maximum any possible friction or friction with the maniqul. In this sense, the fact that the deflated ball does not protrude laterally from the legs of the maniqul reduces friction between the ball and the pants.
Preferably each leg comprises a flat front face and a flat rear face and a hollow space between them in which an outer rod and an inner rod are housed, where the lower ends of said outer rod and said inner rod are attached to a mechanism of unfolded. In general, the maniquls of the state of the art have two working positions, one called "closed", in which the manikin has the legs relatively together and each leg has two rods (an outer rod and an inner rod) next to the body main leg that are close to the corresponding leg. In this closed position you can easily put on or take off a pair of pants. In the other work position, called "open", the legs open (separating their lower ends) and the outer rod and the inner rod expand towards the sides, thanks to the deployment mechanism, so that both rods tighten the legs of the pants in the sense of their width. In this open position the pant treatment is performed. In the maniqul according to the present invention each leg has a flat front face and a flat back face (instead of being a conical trunk leg). This allows to present a flatter surface for laser treatment. On the other hand, the presence of the hollow space within which the rods are housed prevents friction between the rods and the pants when the handle is in the closed position, facilitating its automatic removal (by gravity) of the pants.
Advantageously, the deployment mechanism comprises: [a] a mobile glutton, [b] two deployment arms, each with an end joined, articulated, to the mobile glutton and a free end, [c] a support, where the support is arranged below the mobile glutton and the mobile glutton is apt to move between a deployed position, in which the glutton is closer to the support, and a folded position, in which the glutton is further away from the support, [d] two connecting rods, each with one end joined, articulated, to an intermediate point of the corresponding deployment arm and the other end attached to the support, where, both in the folded position and in the deployed position , the free end of each deployment arm is below the end attached to the movable glutton, so that, when deployed, both deployment arms have an inverted V-shape. This geometry allows to use the

mannequin for pants of longer sizes by having more free rod length, while also reducing the possible friction between the pants and the mannequin, when in a closed position, also facilitating the automatic extraction (by gravity) of the pants .
Since with the alternative described above the rods are not in contact with the pants when the mannequin is in a closed position, a shallow teeth, a drawing or any other similar surface finish can be added to the rods (which can be made on the same rod or, for example, on a tube that is inserted over the rod) that prevents the pants from sliding up. Indeed, the mannequin is usually used to treat pants of various sizes (or even shorts, such as so-called "shorts"). In the case of pants with short legs, there is a risk that the rods, when the mannequin is in an open position, they tend to push the legs upwards, leading to wrinkles. The inclusion of this superficial teeth (which will only come into contact with the pants when the mannequin is in an open position) and the opening mechanism of the rods ( which makes these, with the help of the "toothed" move the pants in the tensioning direction, moving it slightly downwards) allow to solve this inconvenience.
On the other hand, it is also advantageous that the upper support structure, which comprises a support area of the pants waist, has a teeth in this support zone that prevents the pants from sliding down.
Preferably, the mannequin comprises a trouser adjustment system that, in turn, comprises: [a] a height adjustment bar, [b] a crosshead that has two longitudinal through holes, each of them housed in inside one of the inner rods of one of the legs. This geometry also ensures that the area of the cross of the pants is flat depending on the position of the height adjustment bar, and avoids having to modify the position of the inner rods when making this adjustment.

Detailed description of some embodiments of the invention
In Figs. 1 to 6 a dummy according to the invention is shown. The handle comprises an upper support structure 1 with a fixing area 3 of the upper part of pants. The maniqul has two legs 5 that will be housed each of them in one of the pant legs. Each leg 5 has a ball 7 fixed on its back (see Fig. 6), specifically on the upper part of the leg 5. Each ball 7 is fixed to the corresponding leg 5 by its upper edge 9 and its lower edge 11.
Each leg 5 is formed by two metal plates 13, one of them forming the front part of the leg 5 and the other forming the rear part of the leg 5, and each of them with a flat central section. Between both plates 13 there is a hollow space 15.
The maniqul has a drive mechanism that allows it to be moved from a closed position to an open position and vice versa. In the open position, the legs 5 are opened and outer and inner rods 17 are projected sideways that will stretch the pants sideways. The rods 17 have a shallow teeth 19 that prevents the pant leg from sliding up. When the handle is in the closed position, the rods 17 are housed inside the hollow space 15.
The rods 17 have their lower end connected to a deployment mechanism (see Figs. 40 and 41), which comprises a mobile glider 21, two deployment arms 23 attached, with the possibility of rotation, to the movable glutton 21 by one of its ends, a support 25 connected to the drive mechanism of the handle and connecting rods 27, connected at one end to the support 25 and at another end to an intermediate point of the corresponding deployment arm 23. The support 25 is arranged below the mobile glider 21. The drive mechanism moves the movable glide 21 down (when it puts the handle in the open position) or upwards (when it puts the handle in the closed position) and this causes the deployment or folding of the deployment arms 23, respectively. The deployment mechanism is also housed inside the hollow space 15.

In the fixing area 3 there is a support area 29 of the waist of the pants, which also has a teeth 31 that prevents the pants from sliding down.
In the area corresponding to the cross of the pants there is a trouser adjustment system (see Figs. 42 and 43) comprising a height adjustment bar 33 and a cross guide 35. The cross guide 35 has two holes through, each of which is crossed by one of the inner rods 17 of each of the legs 5. The inner rods 17 have their lower end fixed to the free end of the corresponding deployment arm 23 and their upper end fixed to a point of fixing 36. By varying the length of the height adjustment bar 33 (by varying its length), the cross slide 35 slides along the rods 17 and the glutton through the through holes, so that the rods 17 always come together in the gluttony 35. In this way the position of the inner rods 17 can be adjusted to pants with different pulls without any adjustment being necessary on the inner rods 17 themselves, since simply by changing l at the height of the gluttony 35 the inner rods 17 are already forced, thanks to an elastic deformation thereof, to adopt the necessary shape to the throw of each pants. Also, by varying the position of the glutton 35, the curvature of the inner rods 17 is modified, increasing it by lowering the glutton 35 and decreasing it by raising the glutton 35, thus achieving! the optimum tension in the inner rods 17 for all types of sizes and shapes. The total length of the inner rods 17 does not vary and their fixing points are the same for any trouser throw.
In Figs. 7 to 12 two balls 7 are represented, for the left leg 5 and the right leg 5 of the maniqul. In general, each ball 7 has an upper edge 9, a lower edge 11, an inner side section 37 with an inner edge 39 and an outer side section 41 with an outer edge 43. Each ball 7 has a longitudinal axis 45 which passes through its geometric center and is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the corresponding leg 5. In the form of realization shown in these Figs. 7 to 12, each ball 7 has a single bending line 47 with respect to which the outer side section 41 has been folded inward. The bending line 47 is arranged such that the outer side section 41 covers the area corresponding to the longitudinal axis 45. The ball 7 of the right leg 5 is symmetrical with respect to the ball 7 of the left leg 5. Each ball 7, unfolded, has a rectangular shape.
In Figs. 13 to 18 another embodiment of the balls 7 is shown. In this case both the outer side section 41 and the inner side section 37 are folded inwardly around a bending line 47. The two side sections are equally long, so that both reach the longitudinal axis 45, but without covering it.
In the embodiment of Figs. 19 to 24, the outer side section 41 of each ball 7 is folded around two bending lines: an inner bending line 49 and an outer bending line 51, so that it forms a zigzag. In this example, the folded outer side section 41 also does not cover the longitudinal axis 45.
5
Figs. 25 to 30 show balls 7 having both the outer side section 41 and the inner side section 37 folded around an inner bending line 49 and an outer bending line 51.
10 The balls 7 of the embodiment of Figs. 31 to 36 have a sealing section 53. The lateral sections are folded by two inner 49 and outer 51 folding lines, such that the outer side section 41 covers the sealing section 53 and the inner side section 37 does not cover it. . The two balls 7 are not equal to each other but are symmetrical with each other.
15 In Figs. 37 and 38 shows another embodiment of a ball 7, corresponding to the right leg 5. It has a trapezoidal shape, so that its upper edge 9 is longer than its lower edge 11. It has a sealing section 53 coinciding with the longitudinal axis 45 and also has two other sealing sections that close the upper edge 9 and the lower edge 11 of the ball 7. It has inner bending lines 49 and outer bending lines 51 for 20 both outer and inner side sections 37, are arranged such that, once folded, the outer side section 41 will cover the sealing section 53.
Fig. 39 shows a ball 7 having two air inlet and outlet valves 55 arranged on the rear face of the ball 7, that is, the face facing the rear surface of the leg 5. This arrangement allows housing the air passage ducts inside the hollow space 15 of the leg 5, which allows a particularly flattened design of the leg 5 as a whole. More inlet and outlet valves can be added to increase swelling and deflation speed and / or to monitor the pressure inside the ball.
