Wall structure and method for compartmentalization of hydrocarbon deposits
5 OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention, as expressed in the statement of this specification, consists of a wall structure and method provided for internally dividing a tank into individual compartments with their own filling capacity 10, so that it allows to expand the number of different types of hydrocarbons to be stored in the same tank.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Currently there is the circumstance that there are many service stations that do not have enough tanks to supply the increasingly numerous types of fuels that are being developed.
In addition, on other occasions the deposits are excessively large for the supply of very specific fuels and therefore of low consumption, as for example with 98 octane gasoline.
Therefore, the service stations are forced to make large investments 20 to change the size of the deposits and expand their number, apart from requiring the performance of works that affect their normal operation, which even require the stoppage of their activity. , which causes major inconveniences.
These deposits are normally buried and through its manhole the introduction of elements of the appropriate size is not allowed to close its inner diameter so that the deposit can be divided into several compartments and thus reduce the size of the compartments at the same time as wide its number, which would allow it to store a greater amount of fuel types, so the invention provides a new wall structure and method that allow to close the inside diameter of a tank adapting to its interior geometry even if it is not circular and even has certain 30 deformations or irregularities, avoiding the problems mentioned above.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In order to achieve the objectives and resolve the previously noted problems, the
Invention provides a new structure and method that allow the compartmentalization of hydrocarbon deposits, unlike the state of the art in which said compartmentalization is not allowed.
The structure of the invention is characterized by comprising a central body of a size that allows its introduction through the manhole of conventional filling of the tank. It also comprises a plurality of removable extensions of the central body which are provided at their ends with a length adjustable element.
The described configuration allows the previous elements to be introduced inside the tank through the manhole, since all of them have dimensions that allow it, so that once introduced into the tank the extensions are arranged in radial position fixed on the central body and the length of the adjustable elements is regulated so that they press against said inner surface of the tank, which determines that the structure is fixed inside the tank.
In addition, the structure comprises a plurality of circular sectors, which are fixed on both sides of the central body and the extensions, so that its curved side is designed to adapt to the interior surface of the deposit forming a double interior wall of compartmentalization of the deposit (one for each face of the central body and extensions), on which a coating is applied. For this, it is obvious that the 20 circular sectors also have smaller dimensions than the manhole in the warehouse.
In the preferred embodiment of the invention the central body is circular. In addition, the extensions are fixed on the central body by means of screws and nuts and in correspondence with said screws and nuts, the circular sectors have a complementary recess to the contour of said nut and head to surround them and allow them to settle on both sides of the extensions and central body and thus allow its correct fixation on said faces. More particularly, the extensions have a thickness greater than that of the central body and at its end side, in which it is fixed to the central body, they include a central groove that defines an end section of a "U" section at 30 whose groove the side is housed of said central body, which by means of the screws arranged through the lateral branches of the "U" section and the central body, housed in the groove, the extensions are fixed to the central body by tightening the nuts.
In an embodiment of the invention, the fixing of the circular sectors on said extensions and central body is done by rivets.
In an embodiment of the invention two of the removable extensions have been replaced by a diametral extension fixed to the central body, which is therefore equivalent to said removable extensions. Said diametral extension is provided to facilitate the assembly of the rest of the removable extensions.
The adjustable elements in length comprise a plate in which a nut is attached on which a stud is threaded, which includes a locknut and which is also threaded into a nut that is fixed at the end of the extensions; so that by means of the nut that is fixed to the plate, the length of the stud is adjusted until the plate presses against the inner wall of the tank, a position in which the position of the stud is fixed by the length of the locknut. regulated, pressing the plate against the inside wall of the tank.
The invention provides that the coating can comprise several layers of coating 15 to achieve the required insulation of each of the compartments obtained.
The coating may be of any material, but preferably it is made of polyester resin with charges, where said charges are preferably made of fiberglass.
In addition, the invention relates to a method, in accordance with the device described above, for which said method comprises having the elements that constitute the structure: central body, the plurality of removable extensions provided at its ends with the length adjustable element and the plurality of circular sectors. These elements are then introduced into the tank through the manhole and the extensions are located in a fixed radial position on the central body, the length of the adjustable elements being then regulated so that they press against said inner surface of the tank fixing the set inside the tank. Next, the plurality of circular sectors are fixed on both sides of the extensions and the central body to form a double wall, each of which delimits each of the compartments obtained. At this point it should be noted that in order to carry out the previous phase it is necessary that a new manhole has been previously generated in correspondence with the new compartmentalization obtained to allow the introduction of the circular sectors, to make its fixation on both sides of the central body and extensions and also to allow subsequent filling
of the new compartmentalization obtained. Finally, on these walls a coating is applied, to obtain the required insulation in each of the compartments made.
5 To generate the new manhole, the deposit is machined and cut in the area where it is desired to include the new manhole and a collar is obtained that is assembled in the cut made.
It may be the case that the deposit may have suffered a deformation by a blow, crushing or the like, in which case the circular sector is cut adapting it to the internal contour of the deformation of said deposit, whereby although the deposit is deformed You can compartmentalize.
Next, in order to facilitate a better understanding of this descriptive report and forming an integral part thereof, a series of figures are combined in which the object of the invention has been shown with an illustrative and non-limiting character.

5 DESCRIPTION OF AN EXAMPLE OF EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
Below is a description of the invention based on those in the figures discussed above.
The wall structure of the invention is provided to internally divide a tank 10 (1) into individual compartments with its own filling capacity for what it incorporates
the corresponding manhole (3) filling, so that it allows to expand the number of different types of hydrocarbons to be stored in the same tank (1). The structure of the invention comprises a central body (2), which in the example of embodiment is of circular configuration and of a diameter smaller than the diameter of the mouth of 15 man (3), so that its introduction into the interior is allowed of the deposit (1).
In addition, the structure comprises a plurality of removable extensions (4) of the central body (2) which are provided at their ends with a length adjustable element (5), so that said extensions (4) can also be introduced into the tank through the mouth of man (3).
20 Said extensions (4) are fixed on the central body (2) by means of screws (6) and nuts (not shown) for which its end (8) includes a central groove (7) that defines an end section of section in “ OR". In said groove (7) the side of said central body (2) is housed and by means of the screws (6) arranged through the lateral branches of the "U" section and the central body (2), housed in the groove (7 ), the 25 extensions (4) are fixed to the central body (2) by tightening the nuts.
In the exemplary embodiment of the invention, a diametral extension (4a) is provided, fixed to the central body (2), which replaces two of the extensions (4), and is therefore equivalent to them, so that allows the introduction of the assembly inside the tank (1) as the extensions (4) are removable.
30 To achieve the division of the interior of the tank (1), the extensions (4) are introduced into the tank (1) together with the central body (2) and the diametral extension (4a). Inside the tank (1) the operator locates the extensions (4) in a fixed radial position on
the central body (2) and regulates the length of the adjustable elements (5), so that they press against said inner surface of the tank (1), which determines that the structure is fixed inside. For this, the length adjustable elements (5) comprise a plate (12) on which a nut (13) is fixed on which a stud (11) is threaded, on which a locknut (14) is included and which It is also threaded into a nut (17) fixed to the end of the extensions (4), so that acting on the nut (13) regulates the length of the stud (11) until the plate (12) presses against the inner wall of the tank (1) and by tightening the locknut (14) the position of the stud (1) is fixed to the regulated length, in which the plate 10 (12) presses against the inner wall of the tank (1). In this way the structure is fixed inside the tank (1).
In addition, the structure comprises a series of circular sectors (9), designed with dimensions that also allow its introduction into the tank (1), so that once introduced inside the tank (1), they are fixed on both 15 faces of the extensions (4) and the central body (2), for example by rivets (not shown), adapting to the interior contour of said tank (1), forming a double partition wall. For this, the curved sides of the circular sectors have a complementary configuration to the interior contour of the tank (1) and it has also been necessary to previously generate a new manhole (3), corresponding to the new compartment that is obtained and to which there would be no access if said new manhole (3) was not made, which in addition to being necessary to introduce the corresponding circular sectors (3), which form the double wall, is also necessary to allow the filling of the new compartment obtained.
So that the circular sectors (9) correctly seat on the faces of the 25 extensions (4) and the central body (2) and its correct fixation can be made, it is provided that the circular sectors (9) comprise a recess (10 ) complementary to the screw heads (6) and extension fixing nuts (4) on the central body (2) to surround said nuts and bolt heads (6) and thus save their presence.
Then, on each of the interior compartmentalization walls of the tank (1), a coating (15) is applied, which can be constituted by several layers to achieve the required insulation of the compartments obtained.
The coating may be of any material, but preferably polyester resin with fillers is used, wherein said fillers are preferably fiberglass.
To generate the new manhole (3), the tank (1) is machined and cut with the appropriate shape in the area where the new compartmentalization has been obtained and a collar (16) is obtained that is assembled in the cut made on which the corresponding access cover inside the new compartment is arranged.
5
It may be the case that the deposit (1) may have suffered a deformation due to a blow, crushing or similar, in which case, before fixing the circular sectors (9) on both sides of the extensions (4) and the central body (2), the circular sector (9) corresponding to the zone presenting the deformation 10 is cut, adapting it to the internal contour of the deformation of said deposit (1), whereby although the deposit (1) is deformed, the invention allows that compartmentalization can be done.
