专利说明:
[0001] The present invention relates generally to third party verification processes, more specifically but not by way of limitation, a software application that is operable to receive, retain and distribute a portion of an amount of currency wherein the amount was in exchange for a good or service. BACKGROUND
[0002] When two entities enter into an agreement, whether verbal or written, there is often an agreed upon dollar amount to be exchanged for a good or service. By way of example but not limitation, if a photographer is hired to photograph a wedding there will be an agreed upon fee between the photographer and the hiring party. In exchange for the fee, the photographer will capture and deliver agreed upon photographs. As can often be the scenario, many times the hired entity may not deliver the agreed upon service and/or good. In the aforementioned example, the photographer may not capture the required photographs or may fail to appear at the event. In many cases fees are exchanged prior to the delivery of the good and/or service.
[0003] When a fee has been transferred prior to the delivery of good and/or service, the buyer has incurred a certain amount of risk. After the fee has been transferred and the good and/or service was not delivered or there was another issue it is difficult for the purchaser to resolve the matter and collect a return of the fee if applicable. While most credit card companies offer purchaser protection and can intervene in some matters, this requires the utilization of a credit card for the transaction and this may not be desirable or possible.
[0004] Accordingly, there is a need for a deposit facilitation process and software that is configured to receive, retain and distribute a deposit for a good and/or service between a first entity and a second entity. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] It is the object of the present invention to provide a software application configured to facilitate a process intermediate a first entity and a second entity wherein the software is configured to receive and retain a deposit for a good and/or service being exchanged between the first entity and the second entity.
[0006] Another object of the present invention is to provide a deposit securing process facilitated by the software application of the present invention wherein the first entity and second entity must be registered users of the software application of the present invention.
[0007] A further object of the present invention is to provide a software application configured to facilitate a financial transaction intermediate a first entity and a second entity wherein a user must create an account in the software of the present invention and provide a payment technique such as but not limited to a credit card.
[0008] Still another object of the present invention is to provide a deposit securing process facilitated by the software application of the present invention wherein the process further includes receipt and retention of a deposit wherein the deposit is identified for a specific exchange of a good and/or service.
[0009] An additional object of the present invention is to provide a software application configured to facilitate a financial transaction intermediate a first entity and a second entity wherein the operator of the present invention will retain the deposit of the paying entity until the paying entity provides notification authorizing release thereof.
[0010] Yet a further object of the present invention is to provide a deposit securing process facilitated by the software application of the present invention wherein the operator of the present invention collects a transaction fee for deposit management between the first and second entities.
[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a software application configured to facilitate a financial transaction intermediate a first entity and a second entity wherein the software of the present invention includes a reporting feature that provides all users thereof various transaction reports.
[0012] Still another object of the present invention is to provide a deposit securing process facilitated by the software application of the present invention wherein the operator of the present invention will engage in dispute resolution upon occurrence between the first and second entity and subsequently distribute the deposit to the correct entity.
[0013] To the accomplishment of the above and related objects the present invention may be embodied in the form illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Attention is called to the fact that the drawings are illustrative only. Variations are contemplated as being a part of the present invention, limited only by the scope of the claims. In step 415, the second entity receives the notification and provides confirmation of the transaction with the first entity. Step 417, the second entity delivers either the good or service that is material to the transaction between the first entity and the second entity. In step 419, ensuing completion of the delivery of good or service, the second entity enters confirmation of completion in the deposit facilitation system 100 so as to initiate notification within the present invention of the transaction completion. In step 421, the deposit facilitation system 100 sends a confirmation request to the first entity requesting that the first entity respond with confirmation that the good or service from the second entity has been successfully delivered. Step 423, the first entity enters confirmation within the deposit facilitation system 100 that the second entity has successfully delivered the good or service. Step 425, the deposit facilitation system 100 executes payment transfer of the deposit to the second entity. In step 427, the operator of the deposit facilitation system 100 collects a fee for the transaction wherein the fee is a flat rate and is deducted from the deposit transferred to the second entity. It should be understood within the scope of the present invention that the fee collection could be divided such that a portion of the fee collected comes from the first entity and another portion of the fee is collected from the second entity. In step 429, the transaction between the first entity and second entity is marked completed in the deposit facilitation system 100 and a record thereof may be stored in the database of the present invention. It should be understood within the scope of the present invention that at least one computer database is utilized to provide operation of the deposit facilitation system 100. The computer database of the present invention is a conventional computing device having the necessary electronics to store, receive, transmit and manipulate data.
[0024] While the immediate foregoing provides a review of a successful transaction intermediate a first entity and a second entity, it is within the scope of the present invention to provide remediation of a transaction wherein a dispute is associated therewith. If either the first entity or second entity is dissatisfied with the transaction, a report can be filed with the operator of the deposit facilitation system 100. The operator is responsible for investigating the details of the transaction and subsequent a diligent investigation will either complete the deposit transfer to the second entity or return the deposit to the first entity. The operator of the deposit facilitation system 100 maintains rights to implement either a permanent or temporary restriction on an entity wherein an entity is prohibited from utilizing the deposit facilitation system 100.
