    The invention relates to a terminal cross member of a trailer device for a vehicle including attachment points for attachment on both sides of a vehicle body and a ball head connection.
    DE 10 2008 030 626 A1 discloses a trailer hitch, wherein the trailer hitch comprises a cross member, which is formed as a hollow molded body which is formed by two half-shells. The half-shells are made of a plastic material or sheet metal material.
    A disadvantage of this trailer hitch, the high cost in the production since the assembly of the trailer device is very time consuming.
    It is an object of the invention to provide a final cross member for a trailer device, which is suitable for the production of large numbers and thus can be produced inexpensively and meets the technical requirements of a trailer device.
    This object is achieved in that the end cross member of a trailer device is a casting, that is, that the end cross member of a trailer device is poured, whereby the production of large series or high volumes positively affects the cost.
    The end cross member is preferably made of cast iron or cast aluminum, wherein the geometry of the end cross member is to design accordingly.
    Of course, in the end cross member and an element, for example. To increase the strength, be poured or elements that are designed as attachment point or ball head connections, as well as other elements can be poured.
    It has proven to be advantageous if the end cross member has ribs which increase the stability or rigidity. The ribs are to be provided according to the geometry of the end cross member to achieve an optimized load capacity of the end cross member.The end crossmember can be cast as a solid profile or as a hollow profile. That the end cross member may have voids continuously or only at local locations. The cavities may be self-contained as well as open.
    Alternatively, it is also possible here to form cavities with a cast-in element such as, for example, a tube.
    The end cross member preferably has in the middle of a ball head connection on which the ball head of the trailer hitch can be mounted.
    Preferably, the end face of the ball head connection is oblique or not parallel to the end cross member, which extends transversely to the direction of travel aligned.
    An embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to the figure, wherein the invention is not limited to the embodiment. It shows:<Tb> FIG. 1 <SEP> a 3-D view of a cross member according to the invention.
    The inventive end cross member 1 has at the two end sides attachment points 2 by means of which the end cross member is attached to the vehicle body.The end cross member 1 is mounted transversely to the direction of travel by means of the two fastening points 2 between the side members of the vehicle body. In Fig. 1, the attachment points 2 are shown as planar, machined surfaces with two holes for attachment to the longitudinal members, of course, other attachment variants are conceivable.The inventive end cross member 1 is made of cast iron, wherein the geometry and the design of the end cross member 1 is to be adapted to the material to be used. Imageable casting processes respectively materials for the production of a end cross member 1 are iron as well as aluminum casting. The illustrated in Fig. 1 embodiment of the end cross member is formed as a solid profile, with ribs 4. The ribbing 4 serves to reinforce and stiffen the end cross member, of course, the ribs 4 can be arranged differently, this is also casting method as material dependent.
    As a further embodiment, a cross-tie beam 1 is conceivable, which has a cast-in element, for example, for reinforcement. The fastening points 2 may for example be formed as a steel part, which can be cast in the end cross member, if due to the material properties such a combination is required, with other material combinations for pouring are conceivable. The variant shown in Fig. 1, however, is a trailing cross member is formed as a one-piece solid profile.
    Alternatively, the end cross member 1 may also be formed of hollow profile, that is, it may extend a cavity along the entire profile, wherein the cavity may be self-contained as well as open. In addition, the cavity may also be formed only locally or it may be arranged in the profile more cavities.
    In order to enable optimal mounting of the ball head for the hitch, the end cross member includes a ball head connection 3 preferably molded directly. The ball head connection 3 is preferably arranged in the middle of the end cross member.The end face 5 of the ball head connection is preferably aligned obliquely or not parallel to the end cross member, as shown in FIG. 1.
