BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Many containers, such as bottles with lids, include integrated handles. Some containers may also use a flap that facilitates quick access to the contents of the container. When a handle is included in such covers, there is a compromise between positioning the handle in a convenient and efficient location, minimizing the risk of the wing opening unintentionally, due to the forces exerted on the handle. BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is directed to a container lid that includes a hinged handle and fin where each is pivotable independently along the same axis. In this way, the container lid increases the efficiency of using a container to transport, store or consume its contents.
In one embodiment, a container lid comprises a lid base that has an opening for dispensing the contents of the container, and a support. The cover also comprises a handle, and a fin to seal the opening. The fin includes a pivot that is positioned between the handle when the handle is inserted into the holder. The handle and the flap are each independently articulated within the holder.
In another embodiment, a container comprises a bottle and a cap to seal the opening of the bottle. The lid comprises a lid base that has an opening for dispensing the contents of the container, and a support. The lid also comprises a handle, and a fin to seal the opening. The fin includes a pivot that is positioned between the handle when the handle is inserted into the holder. The handle and flap are each independently articulated within the holder. In another embodiment, a container comprises a bottle, and a cap that fits over the top of the bottle to seal the bottle. The lid comprises a lid base that includes an opening for dispensing the contents of the bottle, and a holder that secures a handle and a fin to the base of the lid. The handle includes pivots on both sides that are inserted into the openings located in the support columns, and the fin includes pivots with bumps on both sides that are inserted into the openings on each side of the handle to secure the handle between the fin and the holder. . The fin remains independently pivotable within the openings in the handle, and the handle remains independently pivotable within the openings in the columns.

It will be appreciated that these drawings describe only the preferred embodiments of the invention and are not intended to limit its scope. In addition, it will be appreciated that although the drawings may illustrate preferred sizes, scales, ratios and configurations of the invention, they are not intended to limit the scope of the claimed invention. The invention will be described and explained with additional and detailed specificity by using the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 illustrates an exploded view of an exemplary container lid according to one or more embodiments of the present invention; Figure 2 illustrates the container lid assembled in Figure 1; Figures 3 and 4 show a lid for the container of figure 1 when placed in a bottle; and Figure 5 illustrates a locking slot for maintaining the position of the handle of the container lid of Figure 1. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The present invention is directed to a container lid that includes a handle and a fin that pivot independently along the same axis. In this way, the container lid increases the efficiency of using a container to transport, store or consume its contents.
In one embodiment, a lid for a container comprises a lid base that has an opening for dispensing the contents of the container, and a support. The cover also comprises a handle, and a fin to seal the opening. The fin includes fin pivots that are positioned between the handle when the handle is inserted into the holder. The handle and the flap are each independently articulated within the holder.
In another embodiment, a container comprises a bottle and a cap for sealing an opening of the bottle. The lid comprises a lid base that has an opening for dispensing the contents of the container, and a support. The lid further comprises a handle, and a fin to seal the opening. The fin includes fin pivots that are positioned between the handle when the handle is inserted into the holder. The handle and flap articulate independently within the support.
In another embodiment, a container comprises a bottle, and a cap that fits over the top of the bottle to seal the bottle. The lid comprises a lid base that includes an opening for dispensing the contents of the container, and a holder that secures a handle and a fin to the base of the lid. The handle includes handle pivots on both sides that are inserted into the openings of the support columns, and the fin includes fin pivots that have bumps on both sides that are inserted into the openings on each side of the handle to secure the handle between the fin and bracket. The fin remains independently pivotable within the openings of the handle, and the handle remains independently pivotable within the openings in the columns. Figure 1 shows an exploded view of an exemplary container lid 100 according to one or more embodiments of the invention. The lid 100 comprises a base 103 having a spout (or opening) 105 and a support 104. A pivotable handle 102 and a fin 101 connected to the support 104, as shown in figure 2.
The lid 100 can be connected to a container, such as a bottle to seal the container. Although the figures show that the nozzle 105 is sealed when the fin shoulder 101 is pressed against the nozzle 105, other means for sealing the nozzle or opening the lid using a hinged fin can also be employed (for example, a fin that extends around a nozzle, a fin that presses the base 103, etc.).
The fin 101 includes a fin pivot 101a having a shoulder 101b on each side. Handle 102 includes a link 102a and a handle pivot 102b on each side. The fin 101 and the handle 102 are mounted on the support 104 in such a way that the fin 101 and the handle 102 can each articulate independently. Although the figures illustrate a handle with a rounded link, the links can have other shapes that can be used. In addition, handle 102 can also be formed differently from the shape of the link, provided that the handle includes a handle pivot 102b on both sides (for example, a hook, a clip, etc.).
As shown in figure 1, support 104 includes columns 104a positioned on opposite sides of the support. Each of the columns 104a includes an opening 104b (visible only on one side) for receiving a corresponding handle pivot 102b.
As shown in figure 2, the handle 102 is connected to the support 104 by inserting the pivots of the handle 102b into the openings 104a. With the handle 102 attached to the support 104, the fin pivot 101a can be inserted between the handle 102 in such a way that the lugs 101b are inserted into the openings 102c.
In this way, fin 101 and handle 102 are firmly attached to the lid while allowing fin 101 and handle 102 to continue to pivot independently. For example, while the fin 101 remains inserted in the nozzle 105, the handle 102 can be freely articulated around the axis of the support 104. Likewise, the fin 101 can be articulated around the axis of the support 104 without articulating the handle 102. .
This configuration facilitates the storage and handling of a container with the lid 100. Figures 3 and 4 illustrate an exemplary bottle in which the lid 100 can be used. These bottles can be used to store, transport and / or mix the ingredients of a drink or other product. The position of the handle 102 facilitates the transport of a container, minimizing the probability of the fin 101 inadvertently detaching from the nozzle 105. Furthermore, due to the handle 102 being able to be hinged independently of the fin 101, it further facilitates the use of the container.
In some embodiments, as shown in figure 5, the handle 102 may include grooves 103c that interconnect with the corresponding rails 104c on the support 104. When the handle 102 is rotated downwards to the orientation shown in figure 2, the rails 104c are positioned within the grooves 103c thereby securing the handle 102 in this orientation. Maintaining the position of the handle 102 in this orientation can be desirable in many situations, such as when a drink is taken from the spout 105. Of course, more than one set of rails and grooves can be provided in the handle 102 and support 104 to provide more than one locking position for handle 102.
As indicated above, cover 100 can be assembled first by inserting handle pivots 102b into openings 104b in support 104. Handle 102 can be made of materials that are flexible enough to allow handle pivots 102b to be inserted inside the openings 104b (for example, by compressing the pivots of the handle 102b together). Because the handle 102 can be compressed together, the pivots of the handle 102b can therefore be of considerable length for insertion into the openings 104b.
To keep the pivots of the handle 102b within the openings 104b, the fin pivots 101a are then pressed against the handle 102 to insert the lugs 101b into the openings 102C. In this way, the handle 102 is secured between the fin pivots 101a and the columns 104a (i.e., the fin pivots 101a prevent the handle 102 from also being compressed) to allow the handle 102 to support the weight of a container in which cover 100 is used.
Cover 100 can be made of materials that are flexible enough to allow columns 104a to flex slightly when fin pivots 101a are inserted, but sufficiently rigid to prevent handle 102 and fin 101 from exiting support 104 without a force significant.
In other words, while fin pivots 101a are inserted between handle 102, handle 102 may not be sufficiently compressed to remove handle pivots 102b from openings 104b. In addition, support 104 can be sufficiently rigid so that fin 101 cannot be removed without great force, thereby preventing inadvertent removal of handle 102, even when substantial force is applied to handle 102 (for example, when the handle 102 supports a full container during stronger activities). In this way, the fin 101, the handle 102, and the base cover 103 can be manufactured as separate components and easily assembled, thus simplifying the manufacture of the covers 100.

The scope of the invention is therefore indicated by the appended claims instead of the description above. All changes that are within the meaning and scope of equivalence of the claims must be embraced within their scope.

A lid (100) for the container (107) comprising: a lid base (103) having an opening (105) for dispensing the contents of the container (107), and a support (104); a handle (102); and a fin (101) to seal the opening (105), FEATURED by a handle (102) comprising a first handle pivot (102b) and a second handle pivot (102b); and the fin (101) including a fin pivot (101a) that is positioned between the first handle pivot (102b) and the second handle pivot (102b) of the handle (102) when the handle (102) is inserted into the holder (104), the fin pivot (101a) prevents the handle (102) from being removed from the holder (104), the handle (102) and the fin (101) each being independently articulated within the holder (104).

Container comprising: a bottle (107); and a cap (100) that connects to the top of the bottle to seal the bottle, the cap comprising: a cap base (103) that includes an opening (105) for dispensing the contents of the bottle, and a support (104 ) which attaches a handle (102) and a fin (101) to the base of the lid (103), CHARACTERIZED by a lid (100) as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 11 and wherein the handle (102) includes a handle pivot (102b) on both sides that inserts into the openings (104b) of the columns (104a) of the support (104), and the fin (101) includes a fin pivot (101a) with a shoulder (101b) in both sides that insert into the openings (102c) on each side of the handle (102) to secure the handle between the fin (101) and the bracket (104), where the fin (101) remains independently pivotable within the openings ( 102c) on the handle (102), and the handle (102) remains independently pivotable within the openings (104c) of the columns (104a).
