Description
[0001] The invention relates to a packaging for piece-shaped articles, in particular for cigarettes, comprising an outer packaging, preferably configured as a hinged-lid box, and an inner packaging, such as a sealed block with an inner space, which surrounds the contents of the package, in particular a group of cigarettes, and is preferably made of moisture-sealed, aroma-sealed heat-sealable sheet material, the inner package having, in the region of an inner end wall, an opening support which can be used a number of times and, in the region of said inner packaging side walls, foldable flaps which are connected to each other by heat sealing, according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] The invention also relates to a method of producing packages for cigarettes, in particular of the type mentioned in the introduction, according to the preamble of claim 5 and to a corresponding apparatus according to the preamble of claim 12.
[0003] A cigarette pack of the type mentioned in the introduction is known in practice. In the case of the prior art, a cigarette block or a block sealed with a cigarette group is arranged in a hinge-lid box as an outer package. The inner casing space is provided with an opening bracket that can be used a number of times. This opening bracket comprises a closing tab, which is defined by perforated lines within the inner shell space, and an outer actuating tab, which covers over the closing tab and is provided with an adhesive. In order to open and close the sealed block, the user holds the actuation tab. The space of the sealed block is folded around the cigarette group, so that the folding flaps that cover each other are produced in the region of narrow side surfaces and in the region of a base. The folding flaps of envelope arrangement are connected to each other by means of heat sealing. An inner collar made of cardboard is positioned within the sealed block, this sealed collar having side flaps in the region of the side surfaces, and a base flap in the region of the base surface, each to protect the cigarettes from heat and pressure during the thermal sealing of the folding flaps.
[0004] The invention deals with the improvements to this and similar (cigarette) packages, in particular in relation to prerequisites for high performance production of the packages.
[0005] A package according to the invention has the aspects of claim 1. In this way, it is provided that the folding flaps in the region of an inner back wall of the inner space are designed as a thin fold and are connected to each other through heat sealing outside the region of the cigarette group to form a thin seam, wherein the thin seam is arranged at a spacing from the regions of the folding flaps that cover each other multiple times in the region of the inner sidewalls.
[0006] The invention selects the special fold for the sealable inner casing that does not transmit any mechanical or thermal loading to the ends of the cigarettes. The thin junction does not transmit any heat and pressure to the cigarettes. In the region of the outer surfaces, the folding flaps, which cover one another, can be connected to each other by being sealed against the ends of an inner collar. The inner collar can be designed as a direct space, in particular with a U-shaped cross section, ie with protective or support flaps merely in the region of the narrow side walls, but not in the region of the rear wall that has a joint slim.
[0007] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the folding flaps of the inner space are folded in the manner of an envelope with the incorporation of corner flaps of the inner space, and that the thin joint is arranged outside a region of the folding flaps and corner flaps that overlap in the envelope fold region, in particular in a small space of a few millimeters, preferably in a space from 2 to 3 millimeters, of an overlapping corner flap region and folding flaps.
[0008] Another special feature is the fact that the folding flaps of the inner space are folded in the region of the inner side walls with the formation of the alternating cover in the plane of the inner side walls, and are connected to each other through heat sealing, these Inner rear wall folding flaps having the thin seam resting against the contents of the carton, and the inner front wall folding flaps being folded in each case into these inner rear wall folding flaps having the thin seam.
[0009] A method according to the invention has the features of claim 5. In this way, it is provided that the contents of the package are transported, through the internal space provided, in the pocket of a folding tower, with the contents of the package being partially enclosed in the inner space, and the foldable flaps in the region of an inner rear wall of the inner space are connected to each other by heat seal to form a thin joint in the folding tower, in particular in a plurality of successive seals, which are arranged on the circumference of the folding tower, while the cyclically driven folding tower is stationary, and that the final regions of the thin joint are arranged in a space of the regions of the folding flaps that cover each other multiple times, in the region of the inner side walls .
[0010] A particular development of the method according to the invention relates to the sequence, in which the folding flaps are folded in the region of the inner sidewall as claimed in claim 6.
[0011] In a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, the formation of the sealed block is distributed on three conveyors, namely two (folding) towers and a flat conveyor which is arranged between these. The sealing of the folding flaps preferably takes place in two steps on the two towers.
[0012] Another special feature consists of the lateral feeding of the internal collars to the cigarette groups as claimed in claim 8.
[0013] A special feature also consists of the fact that, during transport of the contents of the package with inner collar in the folding tower pockets, the inner space is kept in readiness and is driven by the contents of the package, the inner space being placed through a hole against the contents of the package and/or the inner collar. The size of the hole can be modified in order to either place the inner space against the contents of the package or to provide space for an impeller that feeds a foldable flap of the inner space to a sealing bar.
[0014] The way in which the thin joint is sealed in the folding tower laterally close to the pockets of the latter, as claimed in claim 10, is also of particular significance.
[0015] An apparatus according to the invention has the features of claim 12.
The preferred embodiments and advantageous developments of the apparatus according to the invention result from the dependent claims. Brief Description of Figures

[0034] The package (10) illustrated here is predominantly intended for receiving cigarettes, wherein a number of cigarettes are combined to form a group of cigarettes (11) as contents of the package. The (cigarette) package (10) is constructed from an outer package (12) and an inner package (13). The outer package (12), in the present case, is a hinge-lid box of standard construction, i.e. with a box part (14) (on the bottom) and a lid (15) (on top) and, if appropriate , a collar (16). The outer package (12) can also be designed in some other way, in particular as a wrap and snap package or as a shoulder box.
[0035] The box part (14) and the lid (15) comprise a one-piece space (not shown) with regions for a box front wall (17), base wall (18), box rear wall ( 19), lid rear wall (20), end wall (21) and lid front wall (22). The box side walls (23) and lid side walls (24) each comprise side flaps covering each other, which are, so to speak, of double layer design.
[0036] A block-forming inner package (13), to be configured precisely as a sealed block (25), is arranged within the outer package (12) designed in this way. The contents of the package are, in particular, the cigarette group (11) is surrounded on all sides by an inner space (26) which is made of sheet material and has a composition that provides moisture sealing and aroma sealing . Furthermore, the material of the inner space (26) is thermally sealable, and therefore the folding flaps can be connected to each other through heat and pressure.
[0037] A special feature of the sealed block (25) or the inner space (26) is an opening bracket which can be used a number of times which, as it were, can be closed again. This opening support comprises an opening tab (27) which exposes a removal opening in an inner film or film layer. The opening tab (27) here is connected by a U-shaped weakening line (28), i.e. by perforations, by a continuous perforated line or through some other suitable weakening material. To open the sealed block (25), the opening tab (27) is moved in the open position with the support of a drive means, i.e. a drive tab (29).
[0038] The drive tab (29) is part of the inner space (26) or part of an outer layer of the inner space (26). The drive tab (29) is connected by an essentially U-shaped weakening line or perforated line (30). The actuating tab (29) is larger than the opening tab (27) and covers over the latter in the manner of a closing strip (31) (U-shaped), which is preferably formed on three sides. This closing strip closes against a peripheral strip which includes the removal opening and belongs to an inner layer, such as an opening tab carrier (27). The actuation tab (29) is provided, at least in the region of the closing strip (31), with a permanently active adhesive.
[0039] The space for the sealed block (25) which, so to speak, is the inner space (26), is divided by fold lines into regions for an inner front wall (32), an inner end wall (33) and an inner rear wall (34). Side strips to form interconnecting side flaps (35) extend on both sides along the entire length of the interior space (26). The foldable flaps (108, 109) are formed at the free ends of the elongated inner space (26) in the region of the inner back wall (34), and extend over the entire width of the inner space (26. These foldable flaps are connected one to a another in a specific way to form a thin junction (37).
[0040] For the purpose of holding the actuating tab (29), the latter is provided centrally, in the region of the inner front wall (32) with a tongue handle (45). The last is located in an adhesive-free region. The loop tongue (45) is fitted so that it is always located above the front wall of the box (17) which, so to speak, can be held freely. In addition, the loop tongue (45) is folded over, preferably against, the drive tab (29) and secured there by an adhesive. This makes it easier for the actuation tab (29) to be caught.
[0041] Another special feature is the design of the sealed block (25) and/or the folding of the inner space (26). The inner space (26) is folded so that the folding projection flaps (108, 109) of the inner space (26) are arranged at the bottom which, as it were, is in the region of an inner rear wall (34) to form the thin junction (37). In this region, the thermal sealing of the foldable flaps (108, 109) can be done without pressure and/or heat being transmitted to the ends of the cigarettes. The transversely projecting thin joint (37) is then folded over the inner rear wall (34). The thin seam end regions (37) projecting peripherally over the contents of the package are then folded laterally with the corresponding foldable flap (110), in the plane of the inner side walls (35) of the sealed block (25). Above this, the foldable flaps (111) protruding out of the plane of the inner front wall (32) are subsequently allocated and sealed.
[0042] In order to protect the contents of the package, so to speak, the cigarettes, during the sealing of the side flaps in the region of the inner side walls (35) a cover is arranged inside the sealed block (25), this cover extending at least in the region of the side walls (35) of the inner front wall (32). There is a cover provided in the region of the inner rear wall (34). This cover, in this case, is an inner collar (38) (Fig. 2), which partially includes the group of cigarettes (11).
[0043] In the case of this exemplary embodiment, the inner collar (38) extends over the entire length and/or height of the cigarette group (11) with a collar front wall (39) in the front region. The side walls of the collar (40) are folded over the side regions of the cigarette group (11) and extend in the region of the inner side walls 35 in order to cover the cigarette group (11) with respect to heat and pressure. . A cut 42 in the region of the front wall of the collar (39) allows the cigarettes to be removed when the sealed block (25) is open. Another special feature is an extension (43) which is formed at the lower end of the front wall of the collar (39), opposite the cut (42), so that the inner collar (38) can be ruptured in an essentially waste-free manner. from a web of continuous material (54).
[0044] The method of producing the sealed block (25) (fig. 3) is a special feature. In the first example an inner collar space (38) is bent into a U-shape and the extension (43) is placed in the plane of the inner base wall (36) and fed into the formed cigarette group (11). Subsequently, prepared internal spaces (26) are provided, which so to speak are fed in a transverse (vertical) plane. The group of cigarettes (11) is positioned so that the ends of the filter are oriented in the opposite direction in the direction of transport. In conjunction with the guides and/or folding mechanisms, the transport causes the inner space (26) to be folded in a U-shaped manner around the cigarette group (11) and the inner collar (38).
[0045] In the first U-folding step, the front corner flaps (75) are also folded (fig. 5). This is followed by the bending in the region of the inner back wall (34), which so to speak is the production of the thin joint (37) and the sealing of this. Next, the thin seam (37) is folded over the inner rear wall (34) and the rear side corner flaps (89) are folded over. Subsequently, the foldable flaps (110, 111) are folded in the region of the inner side walls (35). Subsequently, sealing of the overlapping folding flaps (110, 111) takes place. The sealed block (25) produced in this way is introduced in a suitable manner into the outer packaging (12).
[0046] A special feature is that the thin joint (37) is arranged in a space from the corner flaps (75, 89) and folding flaps (110, 111) that overlap multiple times in the region of the inner sidewall (35). The key here is, in particular, the region, in which the folding flaps (110, 111) which are folded in the manner of an envelope and the corner flaps (75) and (89) overlap, which produces a construction of multiple layer. The thin junction (37) is arranged at a spacing (A) from this region. This spacing (A) is preferably a few millimeters, in particular 2 to 3 millimeters.
[0047] A preferred apparatus and method of producing the packages (10) shown in fig. 1 will be explained below. Figs. 5 and 6 respectively show a schematic three-dimensional illustration and a side view of a suitable apparatus.
[0048] Cigarettes are provided on vertical axes of a cigarette case (46) and are pushed out of the cigarette case (46) in a known manner through push rod assemblies (47). Each push rod assembly (47) here takes a group of cigarettes (11) located side by side and one above the other, and pushes them out of the cigarette container (46) in the pockets (48) of a tower. (49). Additionally, a cigarette diverter (50), which determines the formation of the cigarette, is arranged between the cigarette holder (46) and the tower (49).
[0049] The thrust rod assemblies (47) are operated together for every second cycle of the tower (49), and in this way two pockets (48) are filled during each standstill phase of the tower (49). The tower (49) is then moved into two positions again, and in this way the next groups of cigarettes (11) can be introduced.
[0050] The turret (49) is arranged transversely to the thrust direction out of the thrust rod assemblies (47) and rotates about a horizontal axis. The cigarette groups (11), in this way, are pushed laterally into the pockets (48), which are located in an upper position. The groups of cigarettes (11) are pushed out into a lower position following the rotation of the turret (49) in various stages. For this purpose, use is made of an impeller (51) which drives out a group of cigarettes (11) in the horizontal direction and impels it into pockets (53) which are arranged in a following tower (52). The inner collars (39) folded in a U-shape fashion are readily placed in these pockets (53) at this point.
[0051] The inner collars (38) are fed into the tower (52) in a substantially horizontal plane. This is shown in fig. 7. The inner collars (38) are transported, in the form of a web of continuous material (54) along a horizontal transport path and are separated by a cutting device (55). The cutting device (55) in the present case comprises a blade bearing (56) and an associated insert bearing (57) which breaks the material web (54) in a known manner.
[0052] Consequently, the broken inner collars (38) are spaced from each other by successive pairs of transport bearings (58) and are transported along the transverse conveyor (60) in the region of a ram (59), so that the inner collars (38) are removed one after the other from the conveyor belt (60) and are pressed into a pocket formation (61) by rotating the ram (59) by 90°. In the process, the inner collar (38) is bent into a U-shape. During transport of the inner collars (38) along the transverse conveyor (60), the extension (43) is also bent over partially, namely, transversely into relation to the front wall of the collar (39). This can be done using suitable bending means such as bending deflectors.
[0053] The folded inner collar (38) is then transported by an impeller (62), which acts on pocket formation (61) in a pocket (53) of the cyclically driven tower (52) and is transferred to said pocket (53).
[0054] Once the folded inner collars (38) have been inserted into the pocket (53) of the tower (52), the tower (52) is moved cyclically in two positions and therefore the cigarette groups (11) can be pushed at this station along a horizontal plane in the pockets (53) and combined with the inner collars (38) provided therein. Following another rotation of the tower (52) through 180°, the cigarette group (11) with the inner collar (38) folded around it can be propelled out of the horizontal plane. For this purpose, use is made of another impeller (63).
[0055] With the aid of the impeller (63), the cigarette groups (11) with the inner collar (38) folded around them are pushed into the pockets (64) of a folding tower (65) that follows. The bending tower (65) also rotates about the horizontal axis, and is cyclically driven like the tower (52). The bend tower 65 is of a drum-like design with an impeller (66) to push out the inner packages (13). The folding tower (65) and the tower (52) are arranged in planes which are offset by 90° to each other, in each case a radially arranged pocket (64) being arranged to be flush with a pocket ( 53) for the transfer of the groups of cigarettes (11).
[0056] While the groups of cigarettes (11) with the inner collar (38) folded around them are transferred from the tower (52) into the folding tower 65, the inner space (26) is fed and wrapped around the group of cigarettes (11) and the inner collar (38).
[0057] The internal space is fed from above, which so to speak is in the form of a continuous material network (67), which is guided in the region of a pendulum-type storage (69) through a plurality of bearings of deflection (68). Following the pendulum-type storage region (69), individual internal spaces (26) are ruptured from the material web (not shown in detail). The separate internal spaces (26) are then peripherally transferred through two spaced suction conveyors (70) and maintained in supply along the cigarette packs (11) transport route. The suction carriers (70) are spaced apart so that the cigarette groups (11) can be moved between the two suction carriers (70), carrying strands (71) thereof, while loading along the inner space (26) . The inner space (26) here is folded in a U-shaped manner around the cigarette group (11) with the inner collars (38). The inner collars (38) are retained by negative pressure on the conveyor strands (71) of the suction conveyor (70). For full disclosure of this, reference is made to the Depositor's EP 0 031 515 B1 which discloses the construction of such transport mechanisms.
[0058] The bending tower (65) is cyclically driven and has a number of radially directed pockets (64) to receive a group of cigarettes (11), with an inner collar (38), which is partially wrapped in the inner space (26 ). Arranged laterally in the pockets (64) are folding fingers (74), which are similarly oriented laterally and by means of which the corner flaps (75) of the inner end wall (33), which project beyond the cigarette pack (11) on both sides of the inner end wall (33) are positioned against the side walls of the collar (40) while the cigarette group (11) with the inner space (26) is pushed into the pocket (64) (Fig. 10).
[0059] Here, a special feature consists of the fact that the impeller (63) has a vertical impeller plate (81) which is intended to bear against the inner end wall (33) of the inner casing (13). Furthermore, an impeller nozzle (82) which protrudes in the transport direction is formed below the impeller plate (81). The impeller nozzle (82) extends in the region of the inner rear wall (34) and ensures that a lower foldable flap (108) of the inner space (26) for the thin joint (37) is placed against a sealing bar (77). ) which is assigned to each pocket (64) and has a plurality of suction channels (83) that are separate from each other (Fig. 11). The impeller nozzle (82) protrudes relative to the impeller plate (81) to such an extent that an edge region of the foldable tab (108) is pressed against the sealing bar (77) of the pocket (64), where it is maintained by means of a vacuum. In the region of the push station described above, an outer guide (76) is arranged on the circumference of the folding tower (65), and this outer guide results in a fold flap (109) which initially projects radially outward from the pocket ( 64), for the purpose of forming the thin joint (37), being positioned against the circumference of the bending tower (65) as the bending tower (65) is moved again by one position. In this way, a folding flap (109) is located on the circumference of the folding tower (65) laterally close to the cigarette group (11), and another folding flap (108) is located on the sealing bar (77) of the respective pocket. (64).
[0060] In an extension of the outer guide (76), a corresponding guide (102) which can move in the vertical direction is additionally arranged in the region of the pushing station. with "the lower free end of the outer guide (76), the corresponding guide (102) serves to form a hole through which the cigarette group (11) is guided with the inner space (26). The inner space (26) is placed against the cigarette group (11) and/or the collar (18) via the corresponding guide (102) and the outer guide (76). Additionally, the corresponding guide (102) and the outer guide (76) are positioned at such spacing from each other so that the inner space (26) is pressed against the cigarette group (11) and/or the collar (18) . The friction that is produced prevents the internal space (26) from being displaced, in particular being skewed or slipping, relative to the cigarette group (11) while being pushed inward (Fig. 10). This measurement is associated with the fact that the pocket walls (113, 114) of the pocket (64) have a different length. A pocket wall (113) extends over the full length of the cigarette pack (11), wherein the opposite pocket wall (114) is shorter and has the sealing bar (77). In this way, while being pushed inward, the inner space (26) first of all contacts the larger wall of the pocket (113) and can be displaced in the process unless the inner space (26) is pressed against the cigarette group (11) and/or the collar (18).
[0061] After the cigarette group and the collar (18) have been pushed into the pocket (64), the corresponding guide (102) is spaced from the outer guide (76) in order to make the impeller passage (63) possible (fig. 11).
[0062] Another special aspect is that in the first example the sealing takes place at the thin joint (37) in the region of the inner back wall (34), and only then is this followed by the sealing of the fold flaps (110, 111) in the region of the inner side walls (35).
[0063] The thin joint sealing operation (37) takes place in three sealing stations (78) during the cyclic transport of the inner packages (13) in the folding tower (65). The sealing stations (78) each contain a sealing mechanism, for example a heatable sealing jaw (79), on the circumference of the bending tower (65). The sealing jaw (79) can be moved through a unit (not shown) in the radial direction with respect to the folding tower (65) in order to seal the two foldable flaps (108), (109) of the inner space (26 ) to the thin junction (37) through pressure and heat. The sealing jaw (79) here is moved through a cut (80) in the outer guide (76), leading the second fold tab 109 to the thin joint (37) against the sealing bar (77). Following the (partial) seal of the thin joint (37), the sealing jaw (79) is spaced from the sealing bar (77) and therefore the bending tower (65) can be moved through a station.
[0064] In the present exemplary embodiment, the folding tower (65) has twelve pockets (64). The three sealing stations (78) are placed in one position at 11 o'clock, one position at noon and one position at 1 o'clock. Sealing of the foldable flaps (108, 109) of the inner space (26) in the region of the thin joint (37) takes place at each sealing station (78) to generally give a firm and/or sufficiently sealed connection. Depending on the times of circulation in the bending tower (65), it is also possible to provide a greater or lesser number of sealing stations (78).
[0065] During the production of the thin joint (37), the foldable flaps (110, 111) from the inner space (26) to the inner side walls (35) are still not folded and projected essentially laterally. These side flaps are folded only once pushing out the inner packages (13) once the folding tower (65) has taken place.
[0066] At a push station out of the folding tower (65), at a position at 9 o'clock, the partially sealed inner packages (13) are pushed out of the folding tower (65), with the thin joint ( 37) pointing upwards in the region of the inner rear wall (34), and are transferred to a horizontal conveyor (85). This takes place through the impeller (66) which is arranged inside the bending tower (65) of the drum-like configuration. Said pusher (66) drives the inner packages (13) into the region of the adjacent conveyor (85). Here, the thin joint (37) is placed or bent against the direction of transport direction against the inner rear wall (34) through a lower end of the outer guide (76).
[0067] The conveyor (85) is also cyclically driven and has side guides (86) with a C-shaped cross section, in which the side guides (86), the inner packages (13) that are arranged in a spacing a from the other can be moved cyclically along the horizontal conveyor (85). An impeller (87) which grips in each case two inner packages (13) via a unit (not shown) and transports them a position further serves this purpose. On its upper side, the impeller (87) has two depressions (88) which are dimensioned in each case to receive an inner package (13). As another special feature, the guides (86) have a folding finger (90) at the entrance region, for folding over the other corner flaps (89) on both sides.
[0068] After that, during transport of the inner package (13), the folding flaps (110, 111) are folded in the region of the inner side walls (35). This can take place via bending diverters (not shown), which are known in principle from the prior art. Another special feature, however, lies in the folding sequence. First of all, namely, the folding flaps (110) that protrude laterally in the region of the inner rear wall (34) and also have the thin fold (37) are folded against the contents of the package, and after that the folding flaps ( 111) that protrude laterally in the region of the inner front wall (32) are folded over. In this way, envelope-type folding is completed during transport of the inner package (13) on the conveyor (85) and the inner package (13) is then introduced by the impeller (87) into the pockets (91) of an adjacent sealing tower. (92). After the transfer of the partially folded inner package (13), the latter is located in a configuration according to fig. 4 in the cyclically driven seal tower (92).
[0069] The pockets (91) of the sealing tower (92) that rotate around a horizontal axis are radially directed and serve to receive in each case an inner package (13). At a push station into the seal tower (92) according to fig. 15, a pocket (91) for receiving the inner package (13) is oriented so as to be flush with the carrier (85) as an extension of the latter. After sealing the inner package (13) in the region of the inner side walls (35) during the circulation of the sealing tower (92), the packages are removed at an outward push station which is opposite the inward push station. Sealing in this way takes place within a rotation of the sealing tower (92) through 180°.
[0070] In the present case, four sealing devices (93) are provided, namely, in a position at 11 o'clock, noon, 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock. The sealing devices (93) consist in each case of two sealing jaws (94) which can be pressed from both sides over the entire surface area against the inner side walls (35) of the inner package (13). During the standstill phase of the sealing tower (92), the sealing of the folding flaps (110, 111) takes place correspondingly in four stations that follow each other. It goes without mentioning that both a larger number and a smaller number of sealing devices (93) can be provided. The sealing devices (93) can also be arranged in other positions.
[0071] As, in particular, fig. 16, the seal turret (92) has two turret discs (95) that are arranged in parallel planes and spaced apart from each other. Recesses to form the radial pockets (91) are arranged in the tower discs (95). In order to drive the inner packages (13) into the pockets (91), the impeller (87) fits between the two tower disks (95). In addition, an outer guide (96) is provided along the transport path of the inner packages (13) on the circumference of the sealing tower (92). To seal, the seal jaws (94) are moved in the horizontal direction against the inner side walls (35) and, after sealing, are removed again for further transport of the seal tower (92) through a position.
[0072] The completely sealed inner packages (13) are pushed out at the already mentioned pushing out station. There, packages are picked up by a horizontal conveyor (97) which, like the impeller (87), fits between the tower plates (95) in order to remove a package out of a pocket (91). On the discharge conveyor (97), the inner packages (13) remain with the inner rear wall (34) pointing downwards in a transport path (98) between conductors (99) of the latter.
[0073] In the region of the conveyor (97), coupons (100) or other printed transports can be positioned on the inner front walls (32) of the sealed blocks (25). For this purpose, suitable coupon feeders and canisters for supplying the coupons (100) are known from the prior art.
[0074] A unit for separating, feeding and placing the collars (16) in position with respect to the sealed blocks (25) is also provided. Fig. 5 shows, in this aspect, the operation of a web of continuous material (101) and also a following cutting device (102) with blade bearing (103) and plug bearing (104) for breaking the collars (16 ) of the material network (101). The separate collars (16) are subsequently spaced apart and then transferred onto a transverse conveyor (105), which transports the collars (16) towards the conveyor (97) until they are located above the sealed blocks (25). There they are positioned on the sealed blocks (25) via a collar inserter (106). The apparatus can be designed in this region in accordance with document EP 0 496 261 B1 or EP 0 667 232 B1 of the Depositor.
[0075] Following the operation of feeding the collars (16), the sealed blocks are transferred into a folding tower (107), in which pre-folded spaces are provided for the outer packaging (12). The package (10) is then completed in a known manner in the folding tower (107).
[0076] Of course, the operation of feeding coupons (100) and collars (16) is optional and does not necessarily need to be included.
