Applicator for replacement hair strands
The invention relates to an applicator for replacement hair strands whose hair is embedded with one end in a thermoplastic element which has a punch-die unit whose mutually swept profiles of action are adapted to the shape of at least one thermoplastic element.
An applicator of the type mentioned has become known through the European patent EP 1424017 Bl. According to this, in the course of use a replacement hair strand is inserted with its thermoplastic element into the die, whereupon a self-hair strand is introduced into the gap between the die and punch and is embedded by compression of the punch and die under heat influence in the thermoplastic element by melt-bonding.
When working with the known applicator must - as experience has shown - repeatedly paused because the punch-die unit is too warm, so that the thermoplastic element sticks when opening the unit or pulls threads or completely softens or melts.
The aim of the invention is therefore to eliminate this disadvantage, ie to ensure continuous operation by optimal temperature control.
This object is achieved with an applicator of the type mentioned in the present invention that the stamp is arranged on a swivel head, which carries an additional punch with substantially the same outline contours, wherein the punch is provided with a heater, the additional punch with a cooling device.
By the swivel head according to the invention with a warm stamp and a cold additional stamp the hot melt is first introduced in the application of a replacement hair strand with the hot stamp and after opening the press nip and pivoting of the swivel head with the cold additional stamp after which the resulting, caused by the thermoplastic element , finished connection of the replacement hair strand can be removed with a self-hair strand from the press nip. Malfunctioning of the applicator by overheating of the punch-die unit and resulting defective or unsightly hair connections are thus avoided.
It has proven to be expedient if the swivel head is designed as a heat-insulated heat sink with respect to the stamp, because in practice a temperature difference of about 200 ° C. is required between punch and additional punch.
The heating means of the stamp may be carried out in any manner known to those skilled in the art. However, the cheapest has proven to be when it is embodied as an embedded in the stamp, electric heating mat.
The cooling device of the additional punch may preferably comprise at least one Peltier element, since the applicator, as usual, is operated electrically and thus the Peltier effect can be exploited in an elegant manner. Alternatively or additionally, a further cooling can be provided, specifically in that a stationary fan is provided on the side of the swivel head facing away from the punch and the additional punch.
In order to ensure the inventive operation of the applicator, namely first hot pressing, then cold pressing, with the simplest means, an embodiment is preferred, according to which the swivel head is accommodated on a relative to the die back and forth, provided with a drive carriage in a storage. It is advisable to provide on the carriage a pivotable between two end positions, driven by a motor crank drive, the crank rod is articulated on the pivot head outside of its storage. For a time-saving and efficient operation, it is also advantageous if the punch, the additional punch and the die each have an active profile for simultaneously receiving a plurality of thermoplastic elements. Then, instead of a single thermoplastic element together with a replacement hair strand, a hair strip composed of several such units can then be applied simultaneously.
The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary embodiment illustrated in the drawing. Show it
1 is an oblique view of an applicator according to the invention for replacement hair strands and schematically spare hair and own hair strands, Fig. 2 shows the same oblique view, but with removed housing, and Figs. 3 to 8 in a schematic representation of the movement of the pivot head according to the invention.
The applicator 1 according to the invention for replacement hair strands has a housing 2 with pistol grip, at the lower end 3 of which a power cable (not shown) enters. His movements are triggered by an actuator 4. The heart of the applicator 1 is a punch-die unit, wherein the die 5 is fixed and protrudes from the housing 2, whereas the punch 6 is movable and is in the idle state in the housing 2. Die 5 and punch 6 each have an active profile, which is suitable for example for receiving five strip-shaped adjacent thermoplastic elements 7 with end-embedded replacement hair strands 8. The number of simultaneously processable thermoplastic elements 7, however, could also be higher, for example 14, be. In the course of the application of the replacement hair strands 8 (as indicated in Fig. 1) are used with their thermoplastic elements 7 in the die 5, whereupon corresponding own hair strands 9 are placed over it to be subsequently pressed by means of the punch 6.
As can be seen in FIGS. 2 to 8, the punch 6 is arranged on a swivel head 10, which carries an additional punch 11 with substantially identical outline contours. The punch 6 is provided with a heating device 12 indicated in the drawing, which may for example consist of an embedded in the stamp 6, electric heating mat. The additional punch 11, however, is provided with a cooling device 13, which consists of at least one Peltier element in the preferred embodiment. The swivel head 10 is designed as a heat-insulated heat sink with respect to the punch 6, for example made of aluminum. Namely, the operating temperature of the punch 6 is about 200 to 210 ° C, those of the additional punch 11, however, only 18 to 20 ° C. To support the cooling device 13, a stationary fan 14 (FIG. 2) is provided in the housing 2 on the side facing away from the punch 6 and the additional punch 11 side of the swivel head 10. Accordingly, the housing 2 has ventilation slots 15 (FIG. 1).
The swivel head 10 is received on a relative to the die 5 back and forth, provided with a drive 16 slide 17 in a storage 18. On the carriage 17 a pivotable between two end positions, driven by a motor 19 crank drive 20 is provided, the crank rod 21 is articulated on the pivot head 10 outside of its storage 18.
In which the die 5 facing away from the end portion of the housing 2, a programming unit 22 is housed (Fig. 2), with the aid of the movements (stroke length, residence times, etc.) of the drive 16 and motor 19 can be predetermined and the temperatures of the punch 6 and the additional punch eleventh are selectable.
When the operating temperatures have been reached when using the applicator 1 according to the invention after inserting the thermoplastic elements 7 into the die 5 and introducing the own hair strands 9 in the gap between the die and the punch 6, the entire movement sequence is triggered by the actuator 4. Starting from the position illustrated in FIG. 3, the punch 6 is advanced by means of the drive 16 in the direction of the die 5 (FIG. 4) and the hot pressing is carried out. Thereafter, the carriage 17 is returned again (FIG. 5) and the swivel head 10 is pivoted downward by means of the motor 19 and the crank mechanism 20 until it has reached the position illustrated in FIG. 6 in which the additional ram 11 occupies the same position. which had the punch 6 at the beginning (FIG. 3). Then, by means of the drive 16, the carriage is again moved in the direction of the die 5 (FIG. 7), whereby cold pressing takes place. Finally, the carriage 17 is returned by means of the drive 16 again and the swivel head 10 is returned to the starting position via the motor 19 and the crank drive 20, in which the plunger 6 faces the die 5 as in FIG. 3 (FIG. 8). Thereafter, the hair connections can be removed from the die 5, and the hair applicator can be used at another location. With the aid of the programming unit 22, the fan 14 can be switched either to continuous operation or to temperature-dependent operation.
