Description: The invention relates to a device for easy reeling of a cable.
The cable is preferably an audio cable as used in portable audio devices or hands-free devices in mobile phones. One particular advantage is that the retractor on each cable can be fixed afterwards and no separate cable design is necessary.
According to the prior art, several types of reels are already known. However, these usually have the disadvantage that a custom cable is necessary (e.g., DE202004005833) or, due to their size and design, can not remain attached to the cable. Furthermore, the cable can not be rolled up quickly and easily automatically (e.g., DE202008002314). The approach of a cable winder shown here is functionally designed for the application.
The invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a cable reel of small size and weight for a simple and automated reeling of cables of the type mentioned. Due to the chosen type of procurement, the cable reel may remain attached to the cable during use and transported with it.
With this invention, the problem was solved quickly and easily wind a cable without this must be fixed by means of a clamping device or hanging on the axis of a drum. By means of the bias by the coil spring and the locking device of the winding process is further simplified. The cable can thus be wound by bias of the coil spring by pressing a button. This is many times faster than when the cable has to be wound up manually.
The cable winder consists of a cylindrical housing in which a drum is rotatably mounted on a shortened axis of rotation. The rotation axis is normal to the bottom of the housing and has a slot which can accommodate the coil spring on. The top side of the drum is flush with the housing. To fix the drum in the housing, a groove at the end of the rotation axis of the housing on the inside of the hollow axis of the drum engages in a notch (recess). The case has a cylindrical shape with a round bottom and a circumferential side wall.
The device has been designed so that in a slot which runs continuously through the drum and housing walls in the middle in the direction parallel to the axis of rotation, a cable can be inserted. The recesses in the housing wall further consist of vertical slots and horizontal slots, which are at a 90 degree angle to each other and connected (L-shape). The recesses are located opposite one another in the housing wall with the horizontal slots aligned in the direction of rotation of the reel along the lower deck surface and the vertical portions are open towards the upper deck surface of the drum and the housing and thus the insertion of cables with thickening and without loose end is enabled. The vertical slots of the L - shaped housing recesses and the recess of the drum are aligned in a rotational position of the drum, so that only in this rotational position, the cable can be inserted simultaneously into the openings of the L - shaped recesses of the housing and the drum. The horizontal slots of the recesses are advantageous for keeping the cable in the correct position during the rolling and unwinding process and to reduce the friction between the cable and the housing. Without these horizontal slots, the reeling would only work to a limited extent due to the higher frictional force. The twisting motion winds the cable around the shell surfaces of the drum and the ends of the cable are drawn into the housing through the horizontal slots of the recesses. In order to allow a rotation between housing and drum with inserted cable, the axis has been shortened and connected to the drum.
The drum includes in the lower part of a barrel for a coil spring. This coil spring is fixed at one end to the inside of the wall of the barrel and is pushed in assembly with the other end through a slot in the rotation axis of the housing. By turning the drum, a torque between drum and housing is applied. The top surface of the drum has a rectangular elongated projection on both sides of the slot, which allows rotation of the drum and is used as a handle. A locking device, in the form of a slider with a wedge, prevents the drum from turning back due to the torque. Only after inserting the cable from above into the continuous through the drum and housing L-shaped slot, and release the Arretiervorrichung release the drum and wound due to the torque of the cable automatically on. If the cable is to be unwound from the drum, the user must pull on both ends of the cable with equal force. The cable transmits thereby a torque on the drum, this turns opposite to the spring tension and thus increases the acting torque. The inserted cable remains in the horizontal slot of the L-shaped recesses, thus can not unthread and slides with lower friction along the housing wall. Furthermore, when unrolling, the horizontal slots of the recesses prevent uneven winding from causing torque in the direction of an axis parallel to the ground, thereby unscrewing the cable. In order to attach the drum to the user's clothing, this has a clip below the bottom of the housing, similar to a fastening device of a ballpoint pen.
The locking device is designed as a slide, which is embedded in the bottom surface of the housing. In the middle of the slide there is a recess, so that it can be inserted transversely into the housing despite the axis of rotation. A linear spring, which is mounted transversely to the rotation axis, pushes the slider against the outer part of the spring housing. As a result, a wedge on the locking device blocks the outside of the spring housing, which is equipped with counter-rotating teeth. Only with pressure on the slider, the teeth are released and the drum can turn back to the starting position.
This results in the advantage that the cable can be easily and automatically wound without further attachment to the lateral surface of the drum.
A further attachment is not necessary because the cable is fixed by the slot on the axis of the drum and wound around its lateral surface during rotation and is pulled through the L - shaped recesses of the housing wall into the housing. To allow for a winding, the cable is inserted in the center of the retractor, so that one half of the cable can be pulled into the housing. As a result, the parts attached to the ends, such as a plug, remain outside the housing.
The drum, which corresponds to a cylindrical body of revolution, includes a completely continuous slot which forms a recess in the upper deck surface of the drum and the axle. The slot runs continuously transverse to the axis of rotation and allows the cable to be inserted into the drum in the direction parallel to the axis of rotation. The height of the slot is limited to the inclusion of the axis of rotation on the inside. From the lower end of the recess, the drum takes up the axis of rotation. Inside the hollow drum axis, a notch is formed, which engages a groove on the rotation axis to fix the drum in the housing. Below the lower top surface of the drum, a cylindrical spring housing, which accommodates the coil spring, formed. The outside of the spring housing is formed with elevations. These protrusions engage in the wedge of the lock and block the drum against rotation. The upper deck surface has a handle for applying torque and a clamping device for attaching the loose ends.
The housing of the retractor consists of a cylindrical body of revolution with a bottom and a vertical axis. The cavity of the housing is designed so that it can accommodate a drum which is inserted onto the axle. Of particular importance is that the receiving axis of rotation of the drum is hollow inside and ends the axis of the housing in front of the recess of the drum axis.
The slots of the L-shaped recesses are open in the direction parallel to the axis of rotation and the upper top surface and formed horizontally parallel to the lower top surface on opposite side walls of the housing in the direction of rotation of the Aufrollvorgangs. Narrowing in the vertical slots of the recesses further prevents the cable from being able to thread along the vertical slots of the recesses during the winding and unwinding process.
1 is an exploded view of the retractor; FIG. 2 is a section (elevation) through the assembled retractor; FIG. 3 is a sectional view (FIG. 3); 4) shows the drum in a perspective view. [0020] FIG. 5 shows the housing in a perspective view. [0021] FIG. 6 shows the slider in a perspective illustration [0022].
The cable reel essentially comprises a cylindrical housing 1, a drum 2, a locking device 4 in the form of a slider, a linear spring 10, a coil spring 9 and a clip 26. The cylindrical housing 1 has a bottom 12, a circumferential housing wall 5, which has formed two opposite L - shaped recesses 7, and a central axis of rotation 3. In the assembled state, the drum 2 is mounted on the rotation axis 3 and rotatably connected to the housing, the rotation axis 3 at the end of the axis has a groove 22 which engages in the interior of the hollow drum axis 29 in a notch (recess) 23 and thus prevents the drum from falling out of the housing (1). The locking device 4 is centrally used transversely to the axis of rotation and the recess 13 is pressed by a linear spring 10 against the axis of rotation 3. The coil spring 9 is inserted into the barrel 8. The drum 2 has an upper cover surface 14 such as a cylindrical outer surface 6 for winding up the cable 24.
Transverse to the axis of rotation 3 of the drum 2 along a central longitudinal axis a drum slot 15 through the upper top surface 14 and outer surface 6 of the drum 2. The drum slot 15 thus forms a recess and recess opposite lateral surfaces 6, in which the cable 24th can be inserted transversely to the rotation axis 3. Of particular importance is that the drum slot 15 identifies an opening in the direction of the axis of rotation 3 of the upper cover surface 14. The upper deck surface 14 of the drum 2 has a rectangular elongate projection 20 on both sides of the drum slot 15, which allows rotation of the drum 2 and is used as a handle. Furthermore, the upper cover surface 14 has a clamping device 21 for fastening the ends of the cable 25. The lower cover surface 16 of the drum 2 includes a cylindrical spring housing 8 for receiving a coil spring 9. The coil spring 9 is connected at one end to the inside of this barrel 8 by means of a fastening device 17 and fixed to the other end by means of a slot 19 in the rotation axis 3 ,
Also, the cylindrical housing 1 with a round bottom 12 is provided with a respective opposite L-shaped recess 7. The L-shaped recesses 7 in the housing wall 5 further have vertical slots 27 and horizontal slots 28 which are on the respective side of the housing wall 5 at a 90 degree angle to each other and are connected. The vertical slots 27 and horizontal slots 28 are part of the recesses 7 and give an L-shape. The recesses 7 are located opposite one another in the housing wall with the horizontal slots 28 aligned in the direction of rotation of the reeling operation along the lower deck surface 16 and the vertical slots 27 open towards the upper deck surface 14 of the drum along the rotation axis 3 and the housing ,
The vertical slots 27 in the direction of the rotation axis have a constrictions 25 at one point. In the correct rotational position, the L - shaped recesses 7 and the drum slot 15 are arranged in alignment, so that the cable 24 can be inserted into the vertical slots 27. A particular advantage of the L-shaped recesses 7 results from the fact that when processing the cable this remains in the horizontal slots 28 of the recesses 7, optionally prevents a torque along an axis parallel to the bottom 12 and during winding due to reduced contact forces the Frictional forces are reduced. The constrictions 25 further prevent the cable from threading along the vertical slots 27 of the L-shaped recesses 7 during traction. Furthermore, the bottom 12 of the cylindrical housing 1 has a clasp 26, which can be used to attach the cable winder to the user's clothing.
In the assembled state, the locking device 4 blocked by means of a wedge 18 and opposing teeth 11, the drum 2 against rotation in the counterclockwise direction. The wedge 18 is pressed by means of a linear spring against the outer wall of the barrel 8. With movement in the clockwise direction, the drum 2 is acted upon by a torque by the coil spring 9. The inner end of the coil spring 9 is connected by a slot 19 in the rotation axis 3 with the housing 1. After inserting the cable 24, the drum 2 is released by pressure on the locking device 4 and the cable 24 is automatically wound up.
